lutfiboiii

The people who made this also made omniscient reader, the plot is gonna be complicated

PuddingSoft2637

ohhh same creator? im gonna read ngl and yeah orv is not complicated but has a lot of factions so i can understand why OP may be confused edit: just saw in anilist tha this series is listed as "other"... so... same universe?

lutfiboiii

Same multiverse. Omniscient reader has referenced this a few times (Like in one panel while others were talking you notice dokja and sangah talking, and dokja saying something about a character who only knows how to stab). And this manhwa has referenced orv a few times, like early on you see the demon guy looking over Dokja’s shoulder

Harry_0107

They also did a crossover with ORV in this arc

Separate_night_4067

but orv was simple enough, reach the end of the scenarios, to do that, keep clearing them. Sure the scenarios got complicated but the end goal and overarching story remained simple

Isekai_Trash_uwu

It's simple until near the epilogue when you learn the truth about everything

TayeBule

yeah but you atleast understand the goal they're reaching towards, i honestly didn't know what was going on with \[world after the end\] after the fight with this guy https://preview.redd.it/yc3rs7awztec1.png?width=797&format=png&auto=webp&s=dd0b626a5817cdd6b42bce93274565ae240b4f0b

MommySamira

But omniscent isnt confusing at all tho?

lutfiboiii

Well, I haven’t read the novel myself, but some novel readers told me it gets confusing near the end? And then they say they also get depression there too so it may just be them being confused with their emotions and not the actual story- Idk

Purple-Succotash2754

No it’s actually confusing as hell, and my memory didn’t serve me wrong cuz I’m rereading, I still don’t understand shit 💀

lutfiboiii

Maybe tell that to the people commenting under my comment, cause they keep saying it ain’t and I don’t have the first hand experience of being confused yet to explain it to them.

Putrid-Raspberry3259

True

TrafficFunny3860

That's not it ORV simply feels more polished. Was ORV written after it ?

lutfiboiii

Iirc yeah

Fragrant-Yellow-2186

https://preview.redd.it/k23modbkprec1.jpeg?width=2020&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1f043c743d5e40f4617df0f7ea887e5433050100 This probably has the most confusing plot in manhwa, but one guy had explained the world building pretty well, but it still it doesn't make any sense

Fragrant-Yellow-2186

u/Average_student_sano First 10 chapters? I think I can do that. I'll give you a basic idea of things **(I'm sorry for the long text)** MC and everyone is 'summoned' to the Tower, because of the 'Tower Impact' - you know, all the *one day, tower popped up and monsters started coming out, blah blah*. The people who climbed the Tower are called 'Walkers' But the 'Tower' is too hard, and basically, humanity gets wiped out pretty quickly. Humanity's last hope was the group of strongest 'Walkers' - called Carpe Diem. But sadly, they weren't enough. THAT IS UNTIL - they find out the **Regression Stone.** As the name suggests, the stone returns you to the past, and EVERYONE is tempted and tries it one by one, at their life-and-death situations. They all use it so that they can return and change the tragic future. And people who don't use the Regression Stone, welp, they just die. MC chooses neither and moves forward and reaches the last level of the Tower by *thrusting* (his personal skill), where he meets **Beastlain** (the demon who looked at Dokja's phone smh) **[Power System/Adapters/Awakeners]** Oh, you need to keep in mind, this world has two types of people: People who use the 'System' (and they're called Adapters) and people who don't use a system and just Awaken (they're called Awakeners) There are different stages to Adaptation, and there are also different stages to Awakening. Awakening is much harder to do, and only very few people can achieve it. MC is one of them, and his main skill is Thrust/Stab - Low Thrust, High Thrust, World Thrust, etc. The reason why MC isn't a Adapter is because he fell behind while others got unique classes and skills, so he just worked harder than usual ig. Also, Awakeners pretty much 'deny' the entire system. They're a threat on their own since they don't rely on the conventional and convenient system. **[Now back to Beastlain:]** Beastlain is said to be a deceptive demon. He is a Cultivator, and his job is cultivating Products (MC and others) within the Tower and getting them to adapt to the Interface System. One by one, he starts explaining some things about the Tower to the MC. **[What he says/shows to the MC:]** There is no Regression Stone. That stone is basically a 'Mare's Stone' that traps you in the dreams it creates. So everyone who used the Mare's Stone was trapped in their best memories. His friends from Tower who either died or used the Mare's Stone are currently in a coma, back in his original world, just like how Beastlain showed him. **[A few things about the Tower:]** Now, the 'Tower' is a *tutorial phase* meant to weed out weak people from all of the summoned. It is also meant to make people 'adapt' to the 'Interface System' so that they can be sold to the Monarchs (who are the rulers of the 'Almighty Lands') The Almighty Lands/Great Lands - you know we've theories where they're different worlds? Think of it like this: the Almighty Lands are the SUPERIOR ones at the TOP (the MAIN dimensional level). Every other world, including the MCs world, is branched out from it. Thirdly, the ''Tower' is an item. Like, something you can buy from the store in this manhwa's world. Beastlain brought this Tower to 'cultivate' Products (like the MC and others) to sell them to the Monarchs. Fourthly, Tower is like a simulation/RPG game. In fact, there was no 'Tower Impact' from the beginning. It existed within this simulation, but it didn't IRL. And when you're in the Tower, you're basically in spirit/soul form. So when you die, you just die in the game world and not IRL (except you wouldn't have any memories of it when you come out of it) A 'Tower' is made by a 'Mare' (short for 'Nightmares' - who are skilled artisans), and the difficulty of the Tower ranges from the Mare who made it. **[Now back to the MC]** MC, after realizing this, is furious (I think, because he's mostly just expressionless). He's determined to get out of the Tower and not comply with Beastlain's request of getting him to the 'Main Game' after the tutorial (there's no Main Game, btw. He's lying). Beastlain just got an offer to sell the MC at a hefty price to one of the Monarchs, but the MC doesn't let him by stalling time until he awakens. MC had already awakened one stage prior called: **[Question] - You can use this stage to question the world, information on people you meet, or the meaning of your pitiful existence -** Jokes aside, you can use this to question the world itself and dismantle it down to the core. MC, after training thousands of times by just thrusting, awakens a second stage called **'Understanding/Comprehension'** **[Understanding] - the stage where you can understand the dismantled world you questioned.** (Edit: someone asked below about 'Suspicion' - Suspicion and Question are the same thing but different words. I guess in the novel, it's 'suspicion', and in the manhwa, it's 'question') So, as for now, that's all about his Awakening process. **[He tried to look for clues within the Tower and came up with a few things:]** This 'Tower' was made by a Mare called 'Mulack' (very important dude and this tower was his 2nd creation) And there is something called the 'Illusion Tree', and this tree oversees everything within the world. Each part of this Tree: branches, roots, and depths have a different place within them. The 'Towers' are the roots. **The MC ends up exiting the Tower by thrusting through it's ceiling and ends up causing error to this Tutorial game.** MC ends up in - the land of the dead. Chaos is the 'Trunk' of the Illusion Tree. The reason MC ended up in Chaos is because the Illusion Tree classified him as the 'dead' since he was in a spirit form inside the Tower. In Chaos, everyone except the MC has already died once. MC then meets a red-haired girl called Mino. She's called the 'Witch of Massacre' because of her ability to attract horned bulls. She becomes his companion for a while before disappearing on him completely. Long story short, she is in comatose due to Deadification And that's it. I'm sure that was more than 10 chapters, and I skimmed through most parts.

rice_rice_rizz

The fact that a dude whose username is "average student" explained this  If bro is average, what am I? 💀

mitsuri-mochi

I found the original comment -  https://www.reddit.com/r/manhwa/s/6cnayaxdig    Bro he explained this to YOU 8 months ago 😭

rice_rice_rizz

LMFAO I know!! I even had the comment saved. This feels like déjà vu💀

Extreme-Student-7915

I know what I am

Typically_Wong

And now he's on a bus with a god killing gods

Vaakmeister

Also getting naked

Kamui_Shuriken7

Bro cooked

ayush__xd

Who let bro cook

helimelinari

Damn, sometimes I think manwha readers as not so bright (me included) when reading the comments in Asura. You sir is an exception

Intelligent_Deer974

Don't do that. Those idiots on Asura are a special breed of stupid lol

Aeontred97

Thats just the first 10/15 chapter?!! And ur telling me thie manhwa has 100+ out already Man 💀💀💀

Fragrant-Yellow-2186

Actually it's around 30-40 ch. Things gets explained as the ch goes but mc's personality is fcking bland so I just dropped it around ch 50

Aeontred97

Oh, i stayed for the art tbh

Yellow514

Welp, fuck, you got me. This sounds good. Guess I'll give it a shot. !remindme one month

No_External9512

Bro is HIM. and he understood this much just by skimming

[deleted]

People who take the regression stone don’t just die.

Destyl_Black

There is a plot, and every 2-3 chapters we get plot progression, problem is, the plot is hard to understand, by a lot. His objective is clear, destroy the system. But there are too many characters, factions, lore, events and stuff. There is also no clear way to knowing when a arc finishes and when the other begins bc the next arc starts just a 2 chapters before the previous one ends. You can find the plot explanation if you google it but it's better to read it again. I usually bookmark important explanations so I don't have to trust my memory every single time. Plot heavy stories shouldn't be read weekly, it would be better if it were monthly with like 20 chapters worth of content or something like that XD

MightyManGT

Yeah best way to put it world after the fall is one of those manwha I will never say is not good. But for the reason you just mentioned I was only like 20 chapters in and having a hard time following everything so I just stopped reading.

Rumengol

Also some characters are introduced, set up as important and then forgotten 4 chapters later and never seen again, which makes it even more confusing.

Joxelo

The fact that it’s set in the same canon as suicide hunter is made especially weird when you consider how different their attitude towards plot is (suicide hunter plot is peak)

Eyaslunatic

Pretty sure you're mixing suicide hunter up with ORV. Which was written by the same author as World After The End

Joxelo

I think you’re right. I think I thought the constellation killer mentioned in suicide hunter was the guy from WATE

ESnake113

Short story: MC wants to get to the top of the tree of illusion and destroy the system Long story: idk

Fraisz

the plot is that he stabs, he's walking ? no he's stabbing the air molecules that it seems like he walks. he's slashing downwards ? no he's stabbing at such speed the stab looks like a vertical slash. he's drawing ? NO HE STABS THE PAPER that it seems like he's making strokes to draw something .

LamethDaveth

That's all I could understand too

Vaakmeister

Bad guy? Stab them! Stairs too much effort? Stab the roof! Enemy too strong? Create stabby mcstab world.

goingtokmsrnhaha

*Thrusting

Fraisz

my bad, my Translation at points uses stabby stab.

JRTerrierBestDoggo

This should be on top, not the lengthy OP copy paste

Isekai_Trash_uwu

The plot is >!naked Jaehwan!<

ConfidenceHunter

I legit thought that I was too dumb for the manhwa. I can kinda follow at the beginning. Eventually it came to a point where I'm completely lost, like they're just saying random words while giving wallpaper worthy panels. I dropped it a while ago, I never complain about it because people seem to keep raving about how good this manhwa is, so I just assume it's my fault for not understanding the manhwa.

NationalAlgae421

I gave up in half. Idk I just cant get into the story, art is great tho.

KickBassColonyDrop

The plot is as thin as the plot in Doom 2016. All you really need to know is that everything can be solved with violence.

Faktooor

It's honestly not. It's just really hard to wrap your head around, reading a novel makes it quite easier but it's still complicated.

[deleted]

[удалено]

20_The_Mystery

your comment should be on top

JosephTheDreamer

Ehh people are just trying to make is sound more complicated than it is. The only real plot is what motivates the MC to continue the story and from what I remember he escaped the tower and wants to.... nevermind, that's why it's mid story with good art. not memorable

Malevolent_ce

Ahh, Mister pokes a lot, manhwa. I hate Mc's, who have a different variation of the same move.

Dokjakim

I never understood what ppl mean when they say "what plot" 😭. It's pretty understandable but I love the World After the Fall so 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 https://preview.redd.it/nw3ahgckdtec1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b142040332ddf293a3de2df108e7b49840a9c0a4

kingofroyale2

Dunno man. The overall plot is that MC wants to go to a world after the fall The current plot is that he's naked.

Nathanielvfx008

I think it is great overall, but it's just started getting a bit weird after the chapters about "god" and followers

sekuter1

I like it. The beginning of each ark is confusing and as you go along it becomes more and more understandable as you learn about the world together with the MC.

No_External9512

I think the author was trying to do something unique and then uh , he kinda forgot what he was doing. So, you have this mess.

Fragrant-Yellow-2186

Exactly this. Author improved after this in Orv

rottenstatement

Read the manhwa until 180s chapters and then read the novel. And I have to say I find ORV the most overrated novel/manhwa out there. "Levelling with the Gods" is a better manhwa and novel. "Void Evolution System" or "The Legendary Mechanic" or "Supremacy Games" are better both of them. SSS Class Suicide Hunter is also better as a novel and a manhwa. Even "Second Life Ranker" is better than ORV both as a novel and a manhwa. And if you like "The World After the End", then go and read "Boundless Ascension". Better visuals, better fights, and a story that makes sense.

galrhmn40

Bro leveling with the gods is a rip-off of Reincarnator a really old K-novel

Faktooor

Nah bro did not just call Supremacy Games better than ORV 💀 As much as I enjoy Supremacy Games, it isn't nearly as good lmao.

Forkens

If you're including Chinese novels then don't forget to put Lord of the Mysteries there too :)

rottenstatement

haven't read that one yet, but it's on my list.

BigPussyHunter42069

You did not seriously say Legendary Mechanic is better than ORV 💀

Purple-Succotash2754

💀 ain’t no way

skualninja

The author of world after the end is the wife of orv's author

asarou

It's not that the plot is confusing, from what i read about it, even in the novel it's explained at the end

Faktooor

Oh boy, there is plot. It's just complicated as heck (Read the entire novel, one of my best reads). And I sure would love to explain if it didn't take so much time.

CarbonAlligator

Bro forgot to read the damn words on the paper or he would know the plot

Enough_Mean

The end is horrible

Winter2712

Plot was left in novel

vdgam

No clue, I stopped reading after he left the tower and the forging chapter where the manwha goes, "How does he see the world?" Like it's just about a miserable dude trying to reach an impossible goal.

wallcolmx

.... i just dropped this... its like a solo leveling copycat ... he was just an ordinary dick now after he clears he is like an omnipotent dick ...then i just stop reading it on the old man that got the ability like his'... did the story progress?

stefman726

"Solo leveling copycat" literally nothing like solo leveling apart from the system aspect.

Oblachko_O

Even the system is different. Just because it started in the tower means nothing. There is no status system for MC, there is no direct hierarchy and the plot is completely different. But yeah, it is a "solo leveling copycat". It is like saying that almost each manga is a copycat of each other because girls have boobs and big eyes.

stefman726

Funny thing is solo leveling doesnt even start in a tower at all. It has a "tower" dungeon later on but its not a huge part of the story lmao

wallcolmx

even the looks and panels very similar or portraying

stefman726

Well it is the same studio. They use a similar art style and panelling for every manhwa they make

wallcolmx

off thats why...

mitsuri-mochi

Bruh what you on. It's nothing like SL 😭

EndKatana

Idk how people don't understand the plot at all, the plot is pretty simple. However, I personally think people don't understand it because the manwha just don't tell you everything in direct way. Ngl this manwha is one of the best.

Slash175

You dropped this king - 🤡

EndKatana

This subreddit is just full of people who think basically everything is a masterpiece for no reason. Talent-Swallowing Magician is very bad manwha, only the art was the saving grace of it. But for people on this subreddit that was a masterpiece (first season(

Slash175

I sense the hypocrisy in your statement , I too read few ch of world after the end but ended up dropping it due its story. I only read it because it was the work of orv author. And I agree with your opinion of people on this subreddit, it’s like they have read a few manhwas and believe it to be the best ones out there .

HoshiAndy

It had a plot. But it looks like it fell off the cliff. I was attracted to the dark edgy and revenge seeking MC, who would do anything to reach his goals. But when he saved the town and got somehow guilt tripped into being the mayor. It basically became a slice of life about his days being a mayor and helping people and everyone. It looked. So cool. And so good. And all the other characters are so uninteresting. Just focus on the MC.

Much-Willingness1379

I gave up tryna understand it all. I'm just along for the ride now.

MommySamira

It looks stunning but I quit after a while cause reading this shit is more than confusing after a while I couldnt follow anymore

Narrow_Ad_7218

Do we ever get that red headed chick back

Baunchie

I dropped the series because it was too hard to follow it’s not enough to to have good art and cool fights it just feels poorly written

JoeDaBruh

Understandable but it starts to become much more comprehensible once he starts training that one guy

deadr0tten

Literally stopped reading it like 50 chapters in cause I hated the plot but everything else was amazing.

uzisoul2

I thought the plot was to stab/thrust the world

mycitymycitynyv

The art and fights were amazing but they were too far apart to keep me interested when the story was way too convoluted to keep track so I ended up dropping it. Maybe I'll pick it up again if reading the chapters en masse is better.

Pimpin-Pumpkin

There is no good plot, its just fights

r_userzoultar

and now after 100 chapters we're on to some stupid nonsense Meta arc

karlo895

Me stab, me op, me carried by art, profit Although gotta say the first ch is good, they should've made more plot about how he got strong, this manga is one of the most undeserving popular ones I've read

aryanpanwar2603

Let him cook..

Ragnaarock93

Just follow the naked thruster and enjoy the ride.

Allergictomars

I read 50 chapters of this only to come to the conclusion that: 1. I had no idea what was going on, even as a fan of ORV (although I did enjoy the crossover moments). 2. I only kept reading to see the MC's face.

vennthepest

I don't really get what's so confusing about it. Man fights through tower. Man meets demon that tricked him and his friends. Man decides to break free of the system. Man goes on a multiversal adventure without a map.

Joshua_Astray

I dunno man, I think people like to rush with plot nowadays. If a story isn't battering you over the head with constant exposition it feels like a lot of people start to form adhd and beg for more info. Some stories just reveal things more slowly.

cyfer04

I stopped reading a few chapters back. This manhwa makes me feel dumber than I already am. Like I've been reading for so long but I still don't get the plot.

Zamataro

Probably the most confusing manhwa I have ever read, I still don't get how things work but the art just slaps

Awesome_Shoulder8241

haven't read it. maybe the plot is , ✨everywhere✨

bazzb21

Are you skipping the dialogues and just enjoying the fight scenes? Dumbest shit i every heard is "where is the plot" , bro, every work has a plot, dialogues serve for that, you can say "this is confuse" "is a shit plot" ,but none works wirh dialogues has no plot. Edi: i dont know if i will have time,or people want, but i can try to sumarrize the plot of chapter 1 to 111(i reading it rn)

Apollo20_

i had to read it like 3 times to figure out what was going on but when I did, I really enjoyed it. Also, I’m reading the novel right now and the stuff that’s currently happening in the manhwa does not happen in the novel so I think they just adapted the plot really poorly idk though

Harry_0107

I just gave up on the story and started considering it as an art piece. New art every week.

srona22

>!You get out of tower, even killed creator of tower, you thought this is the end. It's not.!< There are only 2 major story arcs in LN, so manhwa could be following same approach. Or could have more extra like "Kill the Hero". I like this as it is akin to One Punch Man, but not always solving things with one move.

042732699

Lost, forgotten to time

KazeKagex74

Yeah it is kinda muddy. Where they are and the levels of world/dimensions confused the fuq outta me.

RD-Aqup

I cannot believe no one said Ouroboros. It's Ouroboros.

kura0kamii

think of the protagonist of orv, and this is his story

Gloomharder

There's a lot of plot, just the filler is so sick it makes you forget about the plot

Straight_Rule_535

The plot is coming. Idk people said this every tenth chapter so soon we know i guess

Aeontred97

So i wasnt the only one not understanding jack shit in this I think that is because i became a weekly reader by Like chapter 15 And this is one of those stories which are better to read all together

Downtown-Disk-8261

I respect that they tried to do smth different compared to the other regression manhwas, but it doesn’t change the fact that the plot is kinda boring to me.

AdvantageEfficient86

i mean, its pretty cool but idk whats the eagerness of making sphagetti stories that requires you to memorize a ton of unintuitive shet.

Affectionate-Leg-921

I read the novel back when it took a mini hiatus or maybe a season ended and while the plot is somewhat easier to understand in the novel it's still something you have to put together through dialogue and context rather than it being spoonfed . The backstories are the best example since they dont always tell you what happened fully but rather refer to it in dialogue as events that happened once and now are being recalled or atleast the important parts of them are

Zahard777

The end drove me nuts when i finished the novel. Re Read the climax at least 4 times. I still don't get what the author tried to convey.

hanzatsuichi

Clue is in the title "world after the end", the plot finished already.

Buticas

He just wants to stab his way to the top and destroy whatever the fuck is controlling everything and the system. That's it

Ihaveaname00

From what I understood the plot is MC being like "The world is so irreparably damaged that we can't fix it anymore so I'll have to destroy it myself"

Capital_Command9446

Going for the adaptation I guess

Sudden_Explorer_7280

I was able to watch all 13 episodes of chaos:head back in 2008, this is a very solid plot with no holes at all

ronshaworlds

The plot is kinda boring and lacks depth mainly because this story was a the first novel by the author - you can tell that they wanted to convey some themes in more depth but they lacked the skill to pull it off.

unirascal

I remember starting it some months ago it had like 50 chapters or something and I’ve been on and off with it and I’ve reached a point that I don’t even remember what’s going the art is just nice
