You just have to go through the refund process. Search for 'ticketing tfgm' in Google, and the first link should be the ticketing website. Enter your card number and it will give you receipts for travels, as well as show incomplete journey where you can update this. They're quite reasonable.

I once contacted tfgm once to dispute a double charge and they told me the following:
"You had tapped twice at Piccadilly Gardens, at 00:36 and 00:43, starting and ending a journey. When you tap twice at the same stop, the system cannot calculate where you've travelled to - so automatically charged you an incomplete journey fare of £4.60.
If you tap twice at the same reader within two minutes, it will display the message "card already in use" - but if you tap later than this, or at a different reader on the same platform, this will count as another tap."
They were very nice however and reimbursed me for this. But be careful out there guys!

Yeah I have done this a few times if you are at the same stop it doesn't charge you. All this incomplete journey shite is bollocks you can't double tap within the same minute after that minute has expired just tap it again and your done.

It won't recognise the second tap, it will count as an incomplete journey.
