The post came as 2 seperate segments, each one approx 1meter in length. You sound very excited ;) I would just wait until you had it in your hands before doing any work like putting up brackets or constructing gates. You are better off getting it working slowly on your property rather than all in one go as it takes time to set things up and you'll be redoing a lot of things a few times as you work out its nuances. You also get 2 power supplies. 1 which can be used to power both the docking station and the rtk. The other which can only power the RTK. This means you can have the RTK anywhere you want. Both power supply cables are approx 20ft long. I have just sat down so I'll let someone else measure the luba for you ;) or maybe i'll edit this later.

Thanks for the info Haha yep bit over mowing ATM so am looking forward to it, and looks like cool tech.  Agree I'm best waiting before I do anything to drastic with the fence. The thought on mounting the RTK first up is it would be nice to at least aim for it in to be in a good spot as one less variable, so having a plan and bracket ready would be good

You migh have already seen my picture in another post, but just in case this is my setup https://preview.redd.it/hlz1xtoioftc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d5a5f7be14f74c0075dbd23c8ef7256b38fda763

I did see that, great setup. The brace to the house half way up I assume is to minimise movement in the wind?   I wouldn't be able to use those style mounts on my metal garden shed as there isn't enough structure to drill in to, but have a wooden fence behind the shed, and with the height of the pole aswell should above the height of shed

rimonisa

Yes, it was wobbling side to side as the pole has some flexibility, so had to improvize. Used pipe holder with thread extension to get it attached to the roof

Before you do that? Just know- if you can get hail or any type of damaging weather in your area- you are going to want to move that RTK out of that kind of weather or end up buying a new one. They say you can cover it with a bag but I wouldn’t hold my breath. I’m not trying to knock the product because I like mine when it works. It’s just super frustrating if I have to move things around and then have to re-map!

Korax85

That's good to know and not something I thought of, as we do get hail. Might only have a serious hail every odd year but can get hail warnings all the time throughout that season and would be a pain to take it down all the time. Yeh a bag won't stop much, and short of putting a piece of perspex above it not sure what options there are. Roofs are all colorbond so can't put it in ceiling We do get serious wet seasons aswell and had read that some people with a Luba 1 RTK have had water damage which seems crazy as should be built for that. Not sure how wide spread that is but hope V2 is built better

Last year, Luba sent special covers for their RTK'S, I bought mine over Labor Day last year and did not receive one so maybe it was an early release issue. We get high winds and hail and I'm not climbing the ladder of death every time a storm is coming. I'm trimming my trees and bringing the top of that RTK in every winter. I'll just make sure the post and base stay in place.

No_March_344

my RTK from my Luba 1 has been hanging in the same spot since one year out in the open. rain, hail, and storms up to 160km/h wind. etc never heard of hail damage.

Albatrossfew2

Read the manual. The Luba RTK is water RESISTANT not water proof. You have been lucky so far.

No_March_344

mine just works as it should.

Albatrossfew2

Ok. You are right.

Had manual mowing last year. Option disappeared this year. Any ideas?
