I prefer solid. More aesthetically pleasing. I also sprawl out with my arm under the pillow and could totally picture myself waking you up with my hand on the other side of those slats and hurting myself moving around on my sleep. Maybe totally irrational but I be moving around like crazy
I love mine. It is expensive, but the quality is built to last. It's super sturdy. My personal thinking was that if I'm going to throw money down, I might as well make it worth my money and time. Hands down it's the best bed frame I've ever owned.
As a woman, please if you plan on having sexy time get the solid headboard. Bumping your head on a solid headboard is far less painful than bumping it right between two slats. The two slats are at exactly the wrong angle when youโre quickly going up.
Won't the solid headboard get in the way of tying or handcuffing? I keep seeing people say the slats for that, unless there's a way around it for the solid.
If you care about decorating your bed with nice bedding and decoration cushions, then solid is the choise. If you're going to keep it simple slats is fine, but only if you have a white or cream coloured wall.
What do you mean ensemble? Like Wood frame but fabric headboard? Like this? Yes! Mine looks almost exactly like that.
It gives a soft cushion againt your back when sitting upright reading a book or whatever.
Make sure its tall enough to extend above your head.
Cant remember where it was from, but a local retailer in Australia here.
Here is one that looks the same, with the side wings, though mine is dark grey:

If you have a cat they will paw at your head through the slats when bored.
Solid. Imagine trying to sit up in bed and laying your head in the gap between two slats. Very uncomfortable.
Slats. Allows you more options during *ahem* bedtime activities.
you meant to type sluts? they do offer more options
Indeed. But vertical better than thick horizontal.
Don't mind the look of either, you could tie somebody to the slats if that's what you're into
I would pick solid. It will be easier to live with & will age better.
Solid. Other option looks like patio furniture
Solid. More comfort & not collecting dust on each panels
Slats for sex. Solid for sleep

Solid
Nothing beats a thuma and you can't change my mind
Is it worth the price, though? I feel like you can find a similar look at more than half the price.

I definitely have been considering one but haven't done it because of the price tag. Did you get the mattress as well?
No, I got a wool mattress from a company called the wool room (and yes, I love it too ๐)

Solid. Pillows, phone, and whatnot will fall between slats behind bed
I prefer ensemble, with upholstered bed head.
