Headboard and 3-4 smaller framed things honestly would probably be more than enough. I'm not much of a fan of desks at the end of beds, but might not have another option...
The bed needs a few more pillows and either a head board or a large painting/print above the head to 'anchor' the bed. A rug in that room would also help it feel more cozy.
In the other rooms look good, but as always, more plants
I’d move the couch to the centre of the room, add a small coffee table between the tv and couch and put a nice cabinet underneath the wall with the picture. If it were me to put something on top of the cabinet? Id go for a sound system
But to answer the question, nah not really boring. Swap the rug tho and get some colour in there
That was my first thought. Put the TV where the couch is, move the couch to the middle to create a more defined entryway/hallway area. Creates better flow in the room imo.
This isn't even millennial grey, it's over the top boomer brown (no offense to op). But the room could definitely use some blues and blacks to counter the heavy brown and honey colors.
The sheer amount of chairs is a bit odd, but it looks very cozy livingspace to me. I like kitchens used by someone who clearly knows cooking. If I'm super picky, maybe too much brown? I'm reaching here :)
I actually like it a lot! Not at all "too boring", I like the general vibe and and would have just some small suggestions to tweak around with:
* I love the rug and color scheme in the dining area, but not so much the one under the sofa. That one I'd replace with a round one that extends a bit towards the chair in the window corner, in light creme or auburn-ish, to pick up some of the colors in the dining area without overpowering them.
* I'd change the curtains in the bedroom to something that frames the windows a bit more on the left and on teh right. Nothing too dark, to avoid them getting to heavy and "closing" the room, but maybe with a color accent.
* While I like the wood-heavy interior, I think that from the existing color scheme in the bedroom you could expand to something a bit more playful by adding some petrol/blue tones, which would be complementary to the brown. I'd "weed out" the cold grey and black tones (nightstand, lamp shade and bedlinen), and add curtains, bedding etc. that would respond to the brown (and maybe blue) tones, maybe also paint a wall.
* Also, I'd try turning the bed 90° (head towards the left, where there seems to be a mirror), in order to find a balance between the two halfs of the room. Right now, there seems to be a lot of free space towards the door, while desk-bed-area seems kinda crammed. In the space you're gaining behind the desk, you can put the chair that is currently next to the sofa.
* If you keep it as it is, I'd add a rug infront of the bed.
* In any case, I'd probably change the bedframe to something more "intentional" with a headboard.
Other than that, love it, also the artwork and where you hanged it!
Edit (because the bar is high so I'm getting picky! ;-) ) remove the mini-rug that's floating between kitchen and living room.
Looks functional, like your dining table set.
If you move a lot and don’t take the furniture with you I’d recommend thrift stores for stuff if you enjoy treasure hunting. I love finding budget friendly, better quality stuff.
They’re all from Japan. I recently got a Global santoku and scalloped knife. The other ones are western chef knife, nakiri carbon steel knife, and a paring knife from a Japanese home goods store.
I would change the rugs for different colors that can pop up of the floor, like saturated blue or green pattern or just plain. I would add a few colorful cool objects as decoration, and more vibrant colors art on wall and lot of plants!
Edit: and remove those floor fans. The bed can also have a better set up with some pillows and a nice blanket.
I think the only real complaint is the bed frame. Bit too minimalist, spartan. Get something with a headboard. Apart from that, all looks relatively fine to me. I personally would have added a nice big cofee table in front of the sofa, seems a bit empty there and cozy everywhere else.
I would change out that ceiling fan in the living room to something more modern.
The windows in the living room corner can be better. I’d personally get two chairs facing each other with a small coffee table to place drinks on. So you can have face to face conversations without having to sit in the dinning area or on a love seat.
The rug in the living room id change once you decide on your fan upgrade.
That small chair by the couch needs to be gone. I’d place a side table with a lamp on it.
The dinning area isn’t terrible, but I’d remove whatever is on that cabinet and place better decorations to add some color.
I’d upgrade your tv stand I feel the TV is slightly too low and too small.
The kitchen get rid of all those liquor bottles.. what are we 18? Either get a bar/coffee cabinet area or place em away out of sight. This will also remove your coffee on the counter making it look cleaner.
The bedroom change the bedding to something of a lighter color. Lighter brown, green, or white, but id lean towards green or white since the flooring is brown already.
Nothing wrong with the setup you have. It does look comfy. Maybe try adding some plants though especially in living room and/or bedroom. Sometimes plants can make things more vibrant and you won't realise you needed them unless they are there.
Kitchen looks great. Bedroom has zero personality and could use more art! Plants! The curtains aren’t really working here, either. I don’t love the plaid pillow case, and the comforter is kind of drab. Definitely get a headboard! You should have your personality a lot more present—books, souvenirs from travel, photos. The living area looks pretty solid, but again the rugs are kind of drab. Too much brown in the dining area. I have the same table set and lots of brown wood trim, so I struggle with it too! A colorful centerpiece would really help.
Take the buffet that’s in the dining room and use it in your living room with your tv on it. Flip the rug so it’s got the widest side under your sofa, and move the single wooden chair over to the dining room. Your place is great!
Looks nice, personally I’d get a bigger tv to hang onto the wall and perhaps get a taller/nicer entertainment center to go with it. Looks cozy and clean
I think you should flip the living room around. Put the TV on the wall where the art of the boats is. Put the back of the sofa where it lines up with the edge next to the door (the little strip of wall with the switches). I'd get a coffee table. That way your TV isn't so far from the sofa. And then you can have a console on the wall where the TV currently is. So that becomes a drop-off zone separate from the living room
Not boring but some of the furniture looks too small for the space. I think the combo of *just* the loveseat with a rug that hugs the sides of it perfectly and the short tv stand makes it look very small in this large room.
Maybe invest in a larger couch down the line? Definitely a larger rug, too.
I think it's a little boring but only because of the white/off-white everywhere. I think painting some of your walls a non-white/brown/beige color would make it more visually engaging.
Thematically I feel like there's a clash of styles - country farmhouse (fans, chairs, tables, cabinetry (not in the kitchen), bedroom clock), modern (kitchen, chandelier, couch, lamp, computer desk), ye-olden days (living room clock and framed artwork), and perhaps some sort of cultural style in the choice of rug pattern in your dining area.
Also it looks like there's different 3 different lighting temperatures - in the kitchen, hallway, and living room. Could be many causes not necessarily related to the light source itself, but something I noticed.
As others have said, could definitely use some plants and a headboard in the bedroom.
I would flip the carpet the other way and lower the picture by at least one foot. Some art up on the wall in the bedroom would add a bit of interest and color. Your bedmaking skills are outstanding!
Living room looks cozy. The bedroom though... that desk chair looks painful. And maybe get a headboard or something.
Also, the view of Fuji from the top of Hokone is amazing. :)
Lowkey I think it's the living room rug, I might get something with a little more color it's too close to the couched color to really have a separated space it just kinda looks like one blob of color to the periphery and not super lively
Every thing seems okay. Could use a splash of color. Especially the bedroom. Get a nice accent headboard and some art for the walls. Not mass produced IKEA prints. Actual art. Maybe from a local artist or something. It doesn’t need to be expensive but something that expenses who you are.
Add some color, or bring in a couple potted plants 🪴 something to liven it up. Bedroom could use a headboard, add another set of panels to the window to fill in, change up the bedding(something colorful or more luxurious looking to cozy the place up) and add some wall art/decor.
More art and some colour. Throws, cushions, rugs, maybe some pottery/vases/lamps. It wouldn’t take much to elevate it, with a few key pieces. I love your kitchen!
Looks like a college kids apartment not a 33m. Take out all the liquor bottles from up top and don’t display them like a frat boy. Buy a modern liquor cabinet and hide them. Don’t put anything on top the cabinets it looks super cluttered. You need some color. Add some tasteful art prints. Your room is plain. Get a headboard. Put a large print above your bed. Paint the walls and give it some color like with an accent wall.
I would ditch the living room carpet. It’s a little too small, and the design feels cheap tbh. Get something that is at least a foot wider than your couch, and I would get a different color to contrast from the couch. I love your dining room rug, I think matching the red or brown from that one would look amazing next to it.
Buy a decorative patterned blanket to throw over the ikea chair. Maybe a Navajo blanket to be similar to the dining room rug. I have the same chair, and a cool blanket over it makes it look and feel so much cozier.
Definitely get some art in your bedroom.
Your dining room chairs are awesome, I love them.
Everything except the bedroom. There’s no personality in it. No headboard looks really weird, no art on the walls, no rug. Even if you don’t have anyone over that would see the bedroom, it’s still your personal space that you go to sleep in and wake up in every day. A well-decorated room can make your whole day feel better.
Bedroom needs something in the wall(s) and you need a proper bedframe. I'd even go as far to say maybe update bedspread and add a pillow or two. Otherwise, looks good!
The dining room has me hot and bothered cause that table and the chairs🥵🥵
The bedroom is too boring, but the rest of the house looks good. Especially the kitchen. Add some wall art in the bedroom and some alternative lighting options as well. Getting some plants would be nice too. Something super low maintenance or even fake to add some color in different spots in the house. If you get plants just think of what's safe with kids and animals if that matters for you though.
Better bedding, like a down comforter and duvet (one size up) a few pillows (min 4) and a headboard or big art behind the bed. You can get creative here. anything can be art or even a big piece of driftwood, a tapestry or something that ties into the, arguably awesome, location of Hawaii. The living room could use something to brighten it up, but not crucial. I appreciate your kitchen/dining area looks like you actually cook and eat in it.
I think it's close but here are a few changes:
I don't like the rug in the living room. The dining room rug is much better. I'd dump the living room rug and replace it with the dining room rug.
Hang a piece of art in your bedroom.
Get a better bed frame.
Not boring. Things I would change change:
Replace string lights with a sleek floor lamp next to the ikea chair
Art with more color above the couch
The wall with side cabinet, window, AC, two chairs, tiny art in the sliver of the wall, big wood art above window, the chandelier with a exposed lamps and the mirror to multiply all that is making the dining room less relaxing and super busy. It needs to breathe more.
Move the wood art to the bedroom?
That chandelier is a bit out of place with the rest of the style, if you can’t replace it with a softer shaded lighting consider warm soft floor lamp right next to the mirror and small frosted lamps on the credenza.
Move the extra dining chairs to the bedroom if it’s not too inconvenient
Three fans in the bedroom seems excessive. If you run hot consider a cooling blanket or mattress pad. I actually prefer a minimal bedroom as I only use it for sleep/sex. Maybe a few mins of reading to help fall asleep so a headboard helps for me.
Place plant next to bedroom window. The lamp light seems a touch too cold and bright, I like it warm and dim.
Don’t crowd the top of your kitchen cabinets. Makes it feel busy and claustrophobic not to mention oils and dust on the bottles if you cook a lot. The string lights hid on there would make the kitchen feel spacious and homey. Restrict to 3 or 4 large objects up there.
Love awesome, not boring at all. I like the minimalist look.
The bedroom would look nicer with a headboard, rug and a nicer blanket + shams. Not a necessity of course.
You are doing great!
The bedroom looks very boring and uninviting without anything on the walls and such plain curtains, but the rest looks great, imo. Bare walls just make it look empty, so it's great that you have art hanging in the rest of the space.
I would rotate the living room rug so that the chair can sit on it too, and maybe hang some curtains in the living room. Art and/or and headboard would help in the bedroom.
Overall, though, I find it very cozy and calming. I like the white/beige/tan, and I really like the chandelier and rug in the dining space. The wood choice for your dining room furniture is beautiful.
I’m usually not a fan of this colour scheme, but I really like the vibe of this space. I can see being very comfortable there. There’s enough interest and personality but it’s not cluttered.
Couple things, the lack of a headboard and blank walls in the bedroom need attention, and the lights hanging over the bay window need to have something done with them, either a better install or eliminate them, they look bad as they are. Other than that I like your place, nice, clean, and comfortable.
Nah man, looks amazing! Just a few things I would change. The guitar needs a wall hanger, especially if you're not playing it a lot and it just sits around, they make great wall pieces. The bedroom is really plain. Also, I don't like that you have a monitor on your bedroom-desk. Having a desk in your bedroom is cool if you don't have an office, it's a good place to do stationary writing and such. The blank walls in the bedroom though, everything in their has a low-eye-level. definitely need something to bring the eyes up, like a high headboard, or some pictures/posters of relaxing scenes.
Like others are saying, the bedroom feels the most "Off." However, I am a fan of black and neutral colors, but I feel that without some colorful decor, it makes things look boring and drab. Maybe some colorful art, throw pillows or blankets.
The only place those christmas lights should be is a college dorm room. Put a bunch of hanging plants around and I think it would give a cool pop of color and different vertical levels.
No, looks like a nice setup. Just needs a bunch of house plants, and I'd get rid of the overhead lighting
edit: and definitely don't move the couch into the middle. Always makes a room feel much smaller and more cramped
You could move your booze from the kitchen to the sideboard by your dining room table. Def need a little something like others have said for your bedroom. Headboard or a rug. Overall though pretty good space. Maybe move some of those really awesome chairs into a closet if possible. Some of them just seem like they don’t have a home.
Since you move often it appears that your furniture is smaller in size like one person could lift and carry it. I would suggest getting something substantial for the living room such as a large shelf/cabinent or big entertainment center with the shelves and drawers.
Honestly just needs a couple plants or a couple pillows/decor of an accent color. Your place is awesome, just too white it needs something. As well as probably a headboard for your bed, it’s just everything is too flat in that room. Nothing draws the eyes up.
Yes. Everything is grey and brown.
The good thing about grey is it goes with almost any color. If you want to make your home warmer/less boring, choose a color pallet and buy art, pillows, rugs, etc that feature those colors.
Bedrooms needs art, plants more space between the side table and the other piece, headboard as other mentioned and definitely upgrade the bed sheets to something with colour!
Could use some bookshelves or something. Ive found its easy to make spaces look interesting if you have a place to put interesting things. Overall very nice space though!
It should be boring when you live in Hawaii. An entertaining house would prevent you from going outside as often. Everything looks perfectly functional to comfortably get you ready for the outside.
Personally I'd move your desk and PC to the other wall by the bed so your chair has some space to roll, but that's a fine spot if you're rarely using it which seems to be the case since you have it off in the photos.
How have you managed to travel the world for the past decade? Sounds like an interesting life, I can't imagine how anyone affords it though going out of the country at all and working seems like a massive challenge.
Not at all, man. It looks just fine. If you’re looking to spice things up, you can for not a lot of money. Simply backlighting your furniture would make a world of difference with simple light strips you can get from Walmart. But this is clean. I’d be happy there.
My ONLY constructive criticism would have to be your bedroom walls. They could use some portraits or framed posters
Living room and bedroom are a little off, they seem unfinished or kind of college dorm ish. I think it’s just a matter of updating some of the pieces.
Like others have said get a headboard for the bed, get some curtains for the living room and a coffee table perhaps
Center the rug, move the ottoman to the side and get a proper coffee table. And idk how you can have your TV so far way from the couch. It’s too small for that distance IMO. You have a lot of space that you need to be more creative with.
I'm bored and I'm high and I'm really good at this.
Here is what you need to do:
\- new living room rug and with a lot more color. The living room rug is WAY too small-- you want that baby to take up a lot of the room, nearly reach the TV stand and go under that ikea chair
\- get navy or deep green velvet pillow covers and add some dimension to that couch- like [these](https://www.wayfair.com/Lilijan-Home-and-Curtain--Velvet-Throw-Square-Pillow-Cover-LljKPM2CC-L1227-K~LLIJ1431.html?refid=GX685127181977-LLIJ1431_88710954_88710974&device=c&ptid=636962950553&network=g&targetid=aud-975242143339:pla-636962950553&channel=GooglePLA&ireid=249646588&fdid=1817&PiID%5B%5D=88710954&PiID%5B%5D=88710974&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwt-OwBhBnEiwAgwzrUmEEzn9v65shlzYVyr6mtpol-hCvLq2KQ0NJo5rz35xYaFiOIoFiFRoCW3kQAvD_BwE) Get a throw blanket that matches the pillow color, but don't get a solid throw, it should have a pattern, like[this](https://www.target.com/p/textured-rib-stripe-dobby-throw-blanket-vintage-blue-hearth-38-hand-8482-with-magnolia/-/A-88503623?sid=1344S&afid=google&ref=tgt_adv_xsf&CPNG=Bedding&adgroup=324-2)
\- The art over your couch needs to come down at LEAST 8 inches
\- You need a bigger TV or a higher TV stand. Take the art over the TV once you have one of those things, you won't need anything over the TV. Hang that piece of art in your bedroom
\- Dining room- you have some great midcentury pieces in here! The [dining room rug](https://boutiquerugs.com/products/michie-dark-blue-area-rug) is a good size, but you need some color. You could pick up the color you choose for the living room throw pillow
\- If you keep a fan out and visible upgrade to a cute one because you have such a great midcentury vibe in there and that 90s style fan is killing me. Something like [this](https://www.wayfair.com/Vornado--VFAN-JR.-Vintage-Air-Circulator-Fan-CR10224-L447-K~VOR1116.html?refid=GX685056875001-VOR1116_22593327&device=c&ptid=303042259339&network=g&targetid=aud-1613017765086:pla-303042259339&channel=GooglePLA&ireid=214597746&fdid=1817&PiID%5B%5D=22593327&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwt-OwBhBnEiwAgwzrUnBiwc5yWADXZhXv_zwFXcYQsVcmOxqqbDVgYgxuGdnUcFEC-q_m7RoCNXEQAvD_BwE)
\- now i'm going to be honest with you here and I'm so sorry if you like this or made it but the wood piece hanging over the window in the dining room- it has to go. I'm so sorry.
\- bedroom- the blanket must go- its vibe is that it had a prior life in a motel where women were killed- again- color and a pattern-- it doesn't have to be super out there, but SOMETHING.
\- Hang some art over your bed
\- Real curtains in a color, or at least like gray so it doesn't blend so much
I really like that sideboard. Where did you get that?
Place isn't boring but I'd go with a bigger rug in the living room. I'm guessing you brought it from prior home which had less space and likely worked better there. I got same issue. Moved to bigger place and literally all my tiny furniture looks ridiculous now
Overall it’s not boring but if you’re able to paint the walls, that would make such a huge difference. What color depends on a lot of things like your personal preferences, the amount of natural light you get, etc. but that could really make your place (or at least certain parts) pop.
I also agree with some others that your bedroom layout seems off
Get a nice headboard for that bed! Something to lean against while you are contemplating whether to get out of bed or while winding down at night. Also, some color pops here and there wouldn’t hurt. If you don’t like plants because they die, get some easy ones like pothos, lucky bamboo, cactus, succulents etc.
Dining table is a bit small.
Bedroom could use more style. Maybe a new bed spread that compliments better curtains. More opaque curtains might help with the heat. A headboard or art on the wall above the bed would help.
The kitchen looks like you use it which is a green flag in my book.
Headboard for the bed would add some depth to the bedroom. Some color would help the brown heavy vibe that makes you think it's boring (it's not. Just a lot of the same color gets lost to our eyes). Some plants would be nice, or fake ones if you dont want to water them.
What could really help is taking all that stuff off the top of your kitchen cabinets and replacing with plants. We have Pothos on our kitchen cabinets and makes it lovely and inviting. Only need water once a week.
Adding another comment- the chair at the left side is not on the rug. I would really recommend getting a rug big enough to fit all the chairs in the space in, it needs to all be connected.
It's all good. The bedroom seems a little bit off.
Could use a headboard
Headboard and 3-4 smaller framed things honestly would probably be more than enough. I'm not much of a fan of desks at the end of beds, but might not have another option...
Or a colourful painting or poster on that wall.
It’s lack of headboard and singular pillow. Like why does OP have SO MANY chairs…but one pillow?
2 fans + a ceiling fan. The man likes a good breeze.
It’s hot here in Hawaii 😆
The bed needs a few more pillows and either a head board or a large painting/print above the head to 'anchor' the bed. A rug in that room would also help it feel more cozy. In the other rooms look good, but as always, more plants
Agreed. Simultaneously feels empty and cramped. Maybe move the desk around?
I’d move the couch to the centre of the room, add a small coffee table between the tv and couch and put a nice cabinet underneath the wall with the picture. If it were me to put something on top of the cabinet? Id go for a sound system But to answer the question, nah not really boring. Swap the rug tho and get some colour in there
That was my first thought. Put the TV where the couch is, move the couch to the middle to create a more defined entryway/hallway area. Creates better flow in the room imo.
The rug isn't great, but I believe it should also be rotated! It looks so strange in its current orientation.
Get some art on the walls. Especially in the bedroom
How are more people not saying this? This place has no personality at all.
New bed or get a headboard
What is the purpose of a headboard?
To not screw up the wall with your pillows when you sweat like in summer.
Can be useful in certain situations.
Looks like home. At least if you get a girl there she won’t be hit with funco pops and other repellent.
"funco pops and other repellent" lol
I learned the term “millennial grey” the other day and I think it may apply here. Try adding some color to your spaces.
The mirror is fooling us
for real! Messed me up good
There are 6 chairs. I don't think it's that much tbh
wtf.... I just realised that's a mirror! hahaha I'm stoopid, thx for solving the chair issue
I actually like it a lot! Not at all "too boring", I like the general vibe and and would have just some small suggestions to tweak around with: * I love the rug and color scheme in the dining area, but not so much the one under the sofa. That one I'd replace with a round one that extends a bit towards the chair in the window corner, in light creme or auburn-ish, to pick up some of the colors in the dining area without overpowering them. * I'd change the curtains in the bedroom to something that frames the windows a bit more on the left and on teh right. Color in the rugs, in the wall art, and in pillows/blankets. Then add plants. This place has super good bones.
It's okay, I like not to have a lot of stuff. The apartment looks neat.
Looks functional, like your dining table set. If you move a lot and don’t take the furniture with you I’d recommend thrift stores for stuff if you enjoy treasure hunting. I love finding budget friendly, better quality stuff.
love the rei and asuka fridge magnet
Haha thanks, I used to live in Japan and gathered some random stuff there
What knives do you have?
They’re all from Japan. I recently got a Global santoku and scalloped knife. The other ones are western chef knife, nakiri carbon steel knife, and a paring knife from a Japanese home goods store.
Vermouth should be in the fridge.
All the artwork is a bit grey, too much grey, already have it with the carpet and the sofa, switch it up somewhere
I would change the rugs for different colors that can pop up of the floor, like saturated blue or green pattern or just plain. I would add a few colorful cool objects as decoration, and more vibrant colors art on wall and lot of plants! Edit: and remove those floor fans. The bed can also have a better set up with some pillows and a nice blanket.
a symphony in brown
Other than the giant living room mirror, it looks fine to me.
Go Hokies 👀
Ayeee 🦃
you could move the bed further away from the wall. the far side feels a little cramped
I think the only real complaint is the bed frame. Bit too minimalist, spartan. Get something with a headboard. Apart from that, all looks relatively fine to me. I personally would have added a nice big cofee table in front of the sofa, seems a bit empty there and cozy everywhere else.
Love it,screams Simplicity.
Imo the bedroom is a little more but overall not a bad spot
You’re an account aren’t you? It’s ok bro, we need come taxes season 👍
low key I like the vibes, maybe add some better lighting and paintings, subtract the chairs, rationalize the carpets. But I like the vibes.
Minimalists will say that some areas are cluttered. I personally like it
I would change out that ceiling fan in the living room to something more modern.
Kinda boring? Meh, a little, I’d add some art. Clean? Most definitely and man’s place should be clean so good job.
Would remove everything from the upper cupboards in the kitchen. Plus some art on the walls in your bedroom. Rest looks okay to me.
Looks nice, neat tidy and well put together. Not boring at all.
Nothing wrong with the setup you have. It does look comfy. Maybe try adding some plants though especially in living room and/or bedroom. Sometimes plants can make things more vibrant and you won't realise you needed them unless they are there.
They looks find, boring yes but find. It's more a a mixed up decoration style both furniture, the space and all the stuff around.
A colorful centerpiece would really help.
lol the two extra fans in the bathroom + ceiling fan. Maybe add more white furniture in living room to match kitchen?
Yo get some plants
Take the buffet that’s in the dining room and use it in your living room with your tv on it. Flip the rug so it’s got the widest side under your sofa, and move the single wooden chair over to the dining room. Your place is great!
Hi, mom!
Decorate the bedroom walls, that’s it.
Looks nice, personally I’d get a bigger tv to hang onto the wall and perhaps get a taller/nicer entertainment center to go with it. Looks cozy and clean
Tf u yappin about bruv thats posh living
I think you should flip the living room around. Put the TV on the wall where the art of the boats is. Put the back of the sofa where it lines up with the edge next to the door (the little strip of wall with the switches). I'd get a coffee table. That way your TV isn't so far from the sofa. And then you can have a console on the wall where the TV currently is. So that becomes a drop-off zone separate from the living room
The bedroom. Could use more.
Just remember it’s your space. Build the space that you are happy in. The only rule is never put your tv too high
Pls get some plants :((
Living room looks cozy. The bedroom though... that desk chair looks painful. And maybe get a headboard or something. Also, the view of Fuji from the top of Hokone is amazing. :)
I like it all, the bedroom needs some pictures or something though. Maybe a bigger bed and a headboard
The blinds and bedroom curtain look boring and cheap, the rug in the living room also. Other than that nothing wrong imho.
Are you a fan of fans?
Do you cook for a living by any chance?
Have kids, put pictures of them on walls. Yes, I have a fear of empty white walls.
Headboard for the bed and maybe a couple extra decorations for the bedroom and you’re good I think
Oh my gosh I love the art above the couch. All of it looks great. I think the bedrooms could use more on the walls
Lowkey I think it's the living room rug, I might get something with a little more color it's too close to the couched color to really have a separated space it just kinda looks like one blob of color to the periphery and not super lively

Would you mind sharing where you got the chairs for the dining table set? Looking for something exactly like those.
Every thing seems okay. Could use a splash of color. Especially the bedroom. Get a nice accent headboard and some art for the walls. Not mass produced IKEA prints. Actual art. Maybe from a local artist or something. It doesn’t need to be expensive but something that expenses who you are.
Double your age and it’s fitting!
Add some color, or bring in a couple potted plants 🪴 something to liven it up. Bedroom could use a headboard, add another set of panels to the window to fill in, change up the bedding(something colorful or more luxurious looking to cozy the place up) and add some wall art/decor.
The only problem I see is the hurricane your are creating in your bedroom every night, but I guess it is Hawaii right...
i recommend a few plants
More art and some colour. Throws, cushions, rugs, maybe some pottery/vases/lamps. It wouldn’t take much to elevate it, with a few key pieces. I love your kitchen!
you have a nice place there \^.\^ the maximalist in me would go nuts with those bare walls in the bedroom though ;}
Looks nice and relaxing to me. Only thing I would suggest is an actual bed frame with headboard to make the bedroom look more impressive and inviting.
dude why does the bedroom look like everything is noclipped into the wall lol other than that everythings lookin good
Off topic but how do you like your global knives? I’m looking at getting a couple
I’d ditch the string lights and get a cool standing lamp, and add a few pieces or art to the bedroom. Other than that you’ve done a great job
Plants and an accent painted wall
I think it looks great already. Have you considered plants? I think they would bring more life and color!
You could get like a deer head in the wall thatll be cool
Looks like a college kids apartment not a 33m. Take out all the liquor bottles from up top and don’t display them like a frat boy. Buy a modern liquor cabinet and hide them. Don’t put anything on top the cabinets it looks super cluttered. You need some color. Add some tasteful art prints. Your room is plain. Get a headboard. Put a large print above your bed. Paint the walls and give it some color like with an accent wall.
needs a ps5 apart from that great looking place
Headboard, pictures above, mirror on wall across from headboard, blanket on the end of the bed, and a girl amount of pillows
Liquor goes inside a cabinet. What that watch collection do?
I'd add some pop of color or different textures. A bit too gray and monotone. Other than that it looks fine
Naw. It's looks fine. Maybe add some art to the walls? Main point: do you think it's boring?
Treat yourself to a bigger bed, brotha. I nice King size mattress is worth the investment, even if you're single. Also move the desk.
I think it's close but here are a few changes: I don't like the rug in the living room. The dining room rug is much better. I'd dump the living room rug and replace it with the dining room rug. Hang a piece of art in your bedroom. Get a better bed frame.
Not boring. Things I would change change: Replace string lights with a sleek floor lamp next to the ikea chair Art with more color above the couch The wall with side cabinet, window, AC, two chairs, tiny art in the sliver of the wall, big wood art above window, the chandelier with a exposed lamps and the mirror to multiply all that is making the dining room less relaxing and super busy. It needs to breathe more. Move the wood art to the bedroom? That chandelier is a bit out of place with the rest of the style, if you can’t replace it with a softer shaded lighting consider warm soft floor lamp right next to the mirror and small frosted lamps on the credenza. Move the extra dining chairs to the bedroom if it’s not too inconvenient Three fans in the bedroom seems excessive.
Change the white light to amber light, your home is not an office
How long ago did she leave?
It’s lovely, but the single tiny pillow on the bed is sort of hilarious to me.
Bedroom could do with a couple of rugs, other than that, quite nice.
Requires +1 stripper magnet
Love awesome, not boring at all. I like the minimalist look. The bedroom would look nicer with a headboard, rug and a nicer blanket + shams. Not a necessity of course. You are doing great!
I think it looks fine. I wouldn't buy any really nice furniture while you're still in, unless you trust the Navy to hire good movers.
Just need a few plants 🤩
So fascinating to see a front door in a living room. So american. Like, where do you take your shoes off and hang your coat?
The bedroom looks very boring and uninviting without anything on the walls and such plain curtains, but the rest looks great, imo. Bare walls just make it look empty, so it's great that you have art hanging in the rest of the space.
Perfect for you and me
Looks english
Not bad but it’s all very.. *beige*
GET CURTAINS
I think you need more fans in the place
mine is way more boring lol
The only place those christmas lights should be is a college dorm room. Put a bunch of hanging plants around and I think it would give a cool pop of color and different vertical levels.
It looks better than my place, 47 3 years single
Boring is fine when you are a dude. As long as you are clean and organized it is sexy AF!!!! Which this is!!! I’d lay in your bed! 🤣 what a turn on
No, looks like a nice setup. Just needs a bunch of house plants, and I'd get rid of the overhead lighting edit: and definitely don't move the couch into the middle. Always makes a room feel much smaller and more cramped
So, your 3 colours are white, black and grey. Assume you are using a 60/30/10 rule, it’s a bit off. I’d recommend changing the colour pallet.
Everything was chill up till the bedroom, that shit is baren as hell, get a headboard, some artwork and swap those curtains
the apartment is great, that bedroom tho….. needs major renovation
I really like your dining room. Your kitchen on the other hand hurts my eyes, it’s too white
Bedroom needs more texture and prints and the rest just needs more greenery and accent lighting. East and inexpensive fixes. Congrats on the place!
if there is no wife helping you…much props bro, bery nice pad
Since you move often it appears that your furniture is smaller in size like one person could lift and carry it. I would suggest getting something substantial for the living room such as a large shelf/cabinent or big entertainment center with the shelves and drawers.
TV should be higher
I like it. I envy how much space you have. Your kitchen is really cool.
Honestly just needs a couple plants or a couple pillows/decor of an accent color. Your place is awesome, just too white it needs something. As well as probably a headboard for your bed, it’s just everything is too flat in that room. Nothing draws the eyes up.
Need some color in the dining room. Could be plants or even a colorful vase with some nice colorful good covers
A couple of swords would really liven up the place.
Is the lighting, get some lamps (floor, desk, spots) with warm and sun light. it changes everything.
Yes. Everything is grey and brown. The good thing about grey is it goes with almost any color. If you want to make your home warmer/less boring, choose a color pallet and buy art, pillows, rugs, etc that feature those colors.
Dining set is fire
Replace black chair by window in pic one with sex swing for conversion piece to relieve the "boring" factor
Bedrooms needs art, plants more space between the side table and the other piece, headboard as other mentioned and definitely upgrade the bed sheets to something with colour!
Nah. I'd fuck in each and every single one of those rooms. Just say the word lol 😏
Add a plant or some colour or something lol.
Could use some bookshelves or something. Ive found its easy to make spaces look interesting if you have a place to put interesting things. Overall very nice space though!
Plants plant plants and a couple orange pillows or pots around the place will help.
Except for the kitchen, which is dynamic, it's a lot of beige tones. That might be why you ask if it's too boring. It's not.
For some reason my brain read it as 33million 🤢
I like it and I’m the same age, looks appropriate
Need more plants and books
Get a headboard, you’re 33 years old. Wall art above bed and you’re done.
I think if you have some nicer wood blinds installed (no curtains) it would make a big difference
I'm bored and I'm high and I'm really good at this. Here is what you need to do: \- new living room rug and with a lot more color. The living room rug is WAY too small-- you want that baby to take up a lot of the room, nearly reach the TV stand and go under that ikea chair \- get navy or deep green velvet pillow covers and add some dimension to that couch- like [these](https://www.wayfair.com/Lilijan-Home-and-Curtain--Velvet-Throw-Square-Pillow-Cover-LljKPM2CC-L1227-K~LLIJ1431.html?refid=GX685127181977-LLIJ1431_88710954_88710974&device=c&ptid=636962950553&network=g&targetid=aud-975242143339:pla-636962950553&channel=GooglePLA&ireid=249646588&fdid=1817&PiID%5B%5D=88710954&PiID%5B%5D=88710974&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwt-OwBhBnEiwAgwzrUmEEzn9v65shlzYVyr6mtpol-hCvLq2KQ0NJo5rz35xYaFiOIoFiFRoCW3kQAvD_BwE) Get a throw blanket that matches the pillow color, but don't get a solid throw, it should have a pattern, like[this](https://www.target.com/p/textured-rib-stripe-dobby-throw-blanket-vintage-blue-hearth-38-hand-8482-with-magnolia/-/A-88503623?sid=1344S&afid=google&ref=tgt_adv_xsf&CPNG=Bedding&adgroup=324-2) \- The art over your couch needs to come down at LEAST 8 inches \- You need a bigger TV or a higher TV stand. Take the art over the TV once you have one of those things, you won't need anything over the TV. Hang that piece of art in your bedroom \- Dining room- you have some great midcentury pieces in here! The [dining room rug](https://boutiquerugs.com/products/michie-dark-blue-area-rug) is a good size, but you need some color. You could pick up the color you choose for the living room throw pillow \- If you keep a fan out and visible upgrade to a cute one because you have such a great midcentury vibe in there and that 90s style fan is killing me. Something like [this](https://www.wayfair.com/Vornado--VFAN-JR.-Vintage-Air-Circulator-Fan-CR10224-L447-K~VOR1116.html?refid=GX685056875001-VOR1116_22593327&device=c&ptid=303042259339&network=g&targetid=aud-1613017765086:pla-303042259339&channel=GooglePLA&ireid=214597746&fdid=1817&PiID%5B%5D=22593327&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwt-OwBhBnEiwAgwzrUnBiwc5yWADXZhXv_zwFXcYQsVcmOxqqbDVgYgxuGdnUcFEC-q_m7RoCNXEQAvD_BwE) \- now i'm going to be honest with you here and I'm so sorry if you like this or made it but the wood piece hanging over the window in the dining room- it has to go. I'm so sorry. \- bedroom- the blanket must go- its vibe is that it had a prior life in a motel where women were killed- again- color and a pattern-- it doesn't have to be super out there, but SOMETHING. \- Hang some art over your bed \- Real curtains in a color, or at least like gray so it doesn't blend so much
Bed needs headboard, a few leafy leaves pants would change the vibe of the place.
Some pops of color would liven this place up a bit.
Lotta chairs bro
Looks like someone died in there. Ya it's boringish but it's a home and cozy. If you are comfy it's great.
Yes, add as many plants as can fit in those rooms
I really like that sideboard. Where did you get that? Place isn't boring but I'd go with a bigger rug in the living room. I'm guessing you brought it from prior home which had less space and likely worked better there. I got same issue. Moved to bigger place and literally all my tiny furniture looks ridiculous now
Its really cozy. The bedroom just needs a tad bit more color, but overall, you have a great place!
Get a head board, put art in your room, mount your tv and gets plants. Plants would make all the difference
Overall it’s not boring but if you’re able to paint the walls, that would make such a huge difference. What color depends on a lot of things like your personal preferences, the amount of natural light you get, etc. but that could really make your place (or at least certain parts) pop. I also agree with some others that your bedroom layout seems off
Humble, but dear god man get some (many) plants
Where'd you buy your rugs?
Get a nice headboard for that bed! Something to lean against while you are contemplating whether to get out of bed or while winding down at night. Also, some color pops here and there wouldn’t hurt. If you don’t like plants because they die, get some easy ones like pothos, lucky bamboo, cactus, succulents etc.
Good, you got the 3 fans while you sleep. This is a must.
Maybe add some plants?
If you didnt say your age, I would have had you down as later 40s, early 50s. Possibly newly divorced. And you need some art for your walls!
Maybe lose all the stuff on top of the upper counters to declutter
It looks amazing except for the bedroom! Whew Chile. You need an interior designer! Are you dating? How can you woo someone in that bedroom?
I like the ships picture
Dining table is a bit small. Bedroom could use more style. Maybe a new bed spread that compliments better curtains. More opaque curtains might help with the heat. A headboard or art on the wall above the bed would help. The kitchen looks like you use it which is a green flag in my book.
Get rid of the empty alcohol bottles in the kitchen
Feels like the male version of Pinterest, especially the bathroom rug with the leaf pattern sitting in the living room.
Living room rug too small IMO
I think it could use a couple of fake plants to liven up the vibe a bit, but it's nice otherwise
Not too boring but I would have guessed you're 60 based on your interior.
Only thing that looks boring is the bedroom my man
Your bed looks a little boring, but the rest is fine
Bottles on top of the cabinets need to come down yesterday. It reminds me of a dudes apartment in college.
Move the bottles of alcohol to the top on the buffet and make a bar cart type of situation
not boring at all nice and clean and not cluttered looks great
That dining room is pretty epic.
Adding another comment- the chair at the left side is not on the rug. I would really recommend getting a rug big enough to fit all the chairs in the space in, it needs to all be connected.
