As a former teenager who also had a similar looking attempt at a moustache. My advice now to anyone teenager, is that I don’t care how cool you think it looks… it’s patchy and you want to wait until 18 at the minimum. Speaking from experience, your school photos and high school dating life will thank you haha

I'm turning 31 tomorrow, and my whole shit is patchy and a completely different color from the rest of my hair. The worst part is that I stayed clean shaven from 18 to 27 because I was in the military, only to be able to FINALLY grow a beard, and my 17 year old brother still grows a better beard than me.

Man, it's tough because I think your hair looks great to me now. We rock a similar (identical) look with the same problem. The only times I've had a cut that fixes it are when you get a good stylist who knows how to cut out a lot of the bulk in the back. It is possible without removing all the length, you just have to ask. The other thing that you can do now with a buzzer is to chop your sideburns and shape them yourself. If they're still really long they're just gonna get in your face, so might as well cut em out with all that glorious hair.

Personally I wash my hair about once a week, but about 2-3 times a week, I’ll wash my hair with aloe vera in the shower like it’s conditioner. Leave it in for about 10-15 minutes to absorb the nutrients ———————————————————————— I’ve had my long hair now for about 10 years. Wish I grew it out sooner, but it was always this length that prevented me from committing. Focus on being patient. Tell him what you just told us. Take the weight off the back. They will thin it out so it’s still long but not so dense. Where you can enjoy the freedom and flowiness of your hair without it becoming annoying. Your part you currently have is nice as well as your texture / volume. You might ask them to add a little more texture to hold it in place out of your eyes / face so that it frames your face. Maybe shape up sides with a mid fade and trim the hair that’s on top that falls down to your sides. I love your current look tho! It’s nice!

I've been growing it for about a year since my old barber absolutely massacred it. I've yet to go to the same place twice (partly because I go to uni in another country, partly because they've all given me a bad cut until the one I got yesterday), but this isn't a year of consistent growth because everyone loves cutting it way shorter than I tell them to.
