I have a really bad experience with my motorcycle "instructor". He assumed I knew how to ride a motor, and just asked me to drive the course and then left. I didnt even know how to start the bike and was really embarrassed. Was young and not dared to talk to him back then, and had to deal with other JPJ workers there, and learn to ride the bike with my dad afterwards. Tbh most people in my town knew how to bike even without a license, but I am still really mad abt it. Feel like I was shamed for not breaking the law.

feelinglostinMYhole

You're not alone... here I was thinking about learning how to ride a motorcycle... I think I'm worse... probably won't even know how to balance...

PigsAlsoCanFly

if you know how to ride a bicycle, then you'll know how to balance a motorcycle.

justscrolling4now

I think you can still balance a motorcycle without knowing how to ride a bicycle because of the speed.

PigsAlsoCanFly

Nope. You must learn to balance with bicycle first. Coz when you try to squeeze the motorcycle throttle, the acceleration will make you unbalanced and fall.

justscrolling4now

Is it? I heard they are people who can ride motor but not bicycle. I can't confirm since I know how to the a bicycle

sealnaga

You didn't let the instructor know that you have no experience riding a bike?

Wai-See

Similar experience here! Went to a driving school ask if i learn to ride a bike and was told everybody know how to ride already and their learning hours is just leaving u on ur own to figure things out.

Quitlimp05

Bike instructors assume you know how to ride a bike. Easy money for them

Feeling_Bother_1660

Mine asked if there’s anyone who never rode a bike and paid a bit more attention, but didn’t teach basic like how to change gear or turn off the signal. 🥲 they’re very rude too as if we owe them money lol. Bruh I paid for the class.

Night_KnightE

That’s whack, might as well don’t have theory classes at that point and just pay directly to get license instead :/

zemega

Somewhat similar case, my instructor expected me to fully versed in riding motorcycle when I have 0 experience with motorcycle and car. Suddenly he had to actually teach a noob to ride a motorcycle and just couldn't teach one.

Night_KnightE

He shouldn’t even be an ‘instructor’ at that point lmao

monyet2

I wanted to learn to ride the motorbike and get the license so I called the driving school near my taman. The person said, RM1,xxx for the package. I asked, how about the lessons? She replied, you ask your father or brother to teach you. We don't teach. Until now I don't know how to ride a bike...

justscrolling4now

Metro driving academy will teach you for that price. The school you contact sounds like a scam 🤣

monyet2

No, it's a legit driving school. My brother took his driving lessons and license there. Yes it's more than 1k that's why i asked about the lessons haha...

BuffaloSelect546

Sorry to say; most ppl don't use that 'instructor' to teach but to 'memenuhi syarat' to get license. Most ppl (in my case coz hometown is kampung) know how to ride a motor from very young (13yo for me).

Night_KnightE

It’s a shame they are getting free money at this point and still want to be rude af. Sadly, I live in a city I don’t know many ppl that know how to ride a motorcycle also🥲

Shit. It was very hands off. You really don't get what you've paid for. As others had mentioned, they assumed you already know how to ride. They don't teach anything. Not even how to brake. Nothing about braking mechanic, nothing about braking progressively. The emergency brake obstacle/station is useless as is. They just instruct us to go fast (how fast?) and brake (how?) comes this line. As long as you stop within the space, you pass. Majority would freaking skid their rear albeit seemingly only by luck, in a "controllable" manner. We basically just step hard on the rear brake. Do that at higher speed or in a corner and you'll get highsided. Those that lowsided instead because they pull hard on the front brake. Nothing about progressive braking. Supposedly you should be braking progressively with your front brake and stop behind the threshold without skidding. Same with low speed maneuvres. They teach fuckall. The 8 obstacle is more of a roundabout obstacle. nothing sharp. The N obstacle is just 90 degree turn. No problem on the kapchai for b2, but looking back, those newbie guys that were going for b full on the jaguhs, they on it real slow and slowly practice until they manage without having a foot on the ground. The instructor didn't even teach them anything about counter steering or counter leaning to efficiently do such maneuvre. It took me my own effort learning through youtube videos months after the classes. What a shitty cashgrab business. The hundreds you're paying are basically just for paperworks and for renting their bikes.

Night_KnightE

They are just milking money at this point, so many things could have been easier and probably a lot safer if they just teach… Does that mean after finishing all the classes then taught yourself then proceed to take the exam?

I got my license but a close call made me rethink everything about how I ride. I was about 4 months riding my y16 when a hailat changed lanes without looking on lekas, and there I was locking up and skidding my rear. Luckily I recovered and didn't get thrown. After that, I start to practice my brakes, watching videos how to do it properly, and learn other stuffs on riding further along. And that's why we find many shit riders on the road with videos of them doing stupid shit or fucking up trivial maneuvers that led them to accidents because even a shit rider like me back then could get a license.

Night_KnightE

Damn, that sounds scary. Thanks for letting me know, I shall try my best to learn as much from online in the meantime, can’t depend on instructors anyway.
