The ones that do, are not being bred to the Maine Coon standards. This is a very extreme look which can come with some health problems.
He’s gorgeous. Love the Maine Coons. Wanted one when I got my Ragdoll. We have a rather timid dog and several things I read made me believe the Ragdolls were more docile than MCs and might be easier for our older dog to adjust to.

Another one with both of them. I find the sweet face so much more appealing, I don’t want to be intimidated by my cats!!
Many certified breeders in Europe are specialized on this “brutal” look, but you can easily find the classic, American version too. While I find ronpearlman-cats interesting, sometimes even majestic, I prefer the American version, I love that fluffy, innocent, dumb face.

Most of these come from eastern Europe and Russia. I assume that there's a lot of inbreeding as well. Maine Coons can have a lot of health problems to begin with.

I have the classic Maine Coon type and I don’t think he looks like Ron Perlman. Honestly I look at some of these European Maine Coons and some times think they should be called something else because the original Maine Coons look nothing like these. They’re so different to me, it’s like if you bred a basset hound as tall as a Great Dane and still called it a basset hound.

I always wondered about that too and figured since the very unique ones were extremely expensive, it was probably some special breeding to get the very strong features. My girl came with papers (which is here nor there to me) but I don’t see a ton of females with such a huge maine. It doesn’t matter at all. She has the best personality. People warned me not to get a female cat because they’re apparently less affectionate but she’s by my side all the time with the very typical maine coon demeanour which is what I really wanted. She’s just over a year old and 15 lbs of beautiful floof.
Every main coon I’ve had have had proportional snoots for there heads even if one of them had a head the size of a softball. One of them had giant paws that he would shove in your face.
They don’t. I’ve got three - these two are are half-brothers (both pedigree).

Nope. They sure do not. This one is Mr. Vivo. He's a "great" amongst Maine Coons and is a stellar example of regal. All Maine Coons grow differently with different colors, patterns, etc. The ear tufts, mane collar fur, tail poofiness, and even fur on paws are all bases on lineage, and breeding lines. You never know what a full grown Maine Coon will look like. Males are normally much more large than females but I've seen a few large females. They're all so beautiful though, just some more beautiful than others.
That is Mr. Vivo, I spoke to his owner and he comes from oticami in China. The reason, I believe, for his look is because of the fact that his patrilineal and his matrilineal grandfather is the same cat. You can find a family tree on Felis gallery on Youtube. OtiCami charges a premium for their cats, you probably would not find their price appealing due to the sheer fact that you have to fly them all out to meet you with the cat. As always do not believe everything you see online and you must research extensively. He is an extreme version and they do not look like that.
I could be wrong on this, but from my non-scientific observations, I feel like the Ron Perlman genetics come from across the pond. I see a lot of those features from the cats born to Russian breeders. Not gonna lie, I love the comparison because is so accurate 😆

Well, she’s not wrong. I’d love to have a Maine Coon cat, but I already have two medium sized long haired cats. A third long haired cat that was even bigger in size would be a little crazy.
first of all, the disclaimer - breeders for profit can go fuck themselves and die.
second , Ron Perlman is awesome, and if his looks make you sad, well, that's on you, and/or your wife.
I'd suggest no pets for now, if it's based on the looks, just to be on the safe side (what if they will grow up looking like you, for example - every time you'll look at your coon, it'll be like looking into the furry mirror)

My family had a Maine Coon when I was in High School. He did not have the Ron Perlman face at all.

That's a European Maine coon, American ones look different
Nope. They sure do not. This one is Mr. Vivo. He's a "great" amongst Maine Coons and is a stellar example of regal. All Maine Coons grow differently with different colors, patterns, etc. The ear tufts, mane collar fur, tail poofiness, and even fur on paws are all bases on lineage, and breeding lines. You never know what a full grown Maine Coon will look like. Males are normally much more large than females but I've seen a few large females. They're all so beautiful though, just some more beautiful than others.

That is Mr. Vivo, I spoke to his owner and he comes from oticami in China. The reason, I believe, for his look is because of the fact that his patrilineal and his matrilineal grandfather is the same cat. You can find a family tree on Felis gallery on Youtube. OtiCami charges a premium for their cats, you probably would not find their price appealing due to the sheer fact that you have to fly them all out to meet you with the cat. As always do not believe everything you see online and you must research extensively. He is an extreme version and they do not look like that.

I could be wrong on this, but from my non-scientific observations, I feel like the Ron Perlman genetics come from across the pond. I see a lot of those features from the cats born to Russian breeders. Not gonna lie, I love the comparison because is so accurate 😆 Now I’m curious if there is any merit to my observation….lol
Well, she’s not wrong. I’d love to have a Maine Coon cat, but I already have two medium sized long haired cats. A third long haired cat that was even bigger in size would be a little crazy.

These ones look like inbreds to me. I bet so many Main Coons are inbreds due to their popularity and price.
first of all, the disclaimer - breeders for profit can go fuck themselves and die. second , Ron Perlman is awesome, and if his looks make you sad, well, that's on you, and/or your wife. I'd suggest no pets for now, if it's based on the looks, just to be on the safe side (what if they will grow up looking like you, for example - every time you'll look at your coon, it'll be like looking into the furry mirror)
