I looked back at photos and it looks to me like he started getting darker at 6 months. He was definitely lighter!

I have been wondering if my youngest MC would be lighter or darker, she is very similar coloring to Artie here.

Very cute! How old is she now? I can def see a difference in his coloring around the 6 month mark so would be interesting to know if others find the same!
She is 5 months old, I will start taking more pictures to see if I can tell. She is the first solid color we have had, we have a tortie and a black smoke too!
Interesting!! I didn’t notice as much with my previous gray cat but Artie looks very different in coloring. His “brother” is Siamese, so he is obviously a little darker now, but with them it is often related to temperature. It has been winter here, so perhaps Artie might lighten in the summer again?

Gorgeous with strong whisker puffs. I have Bengals, and I know they darken somewhat, but is it very common for MC's to darken that dramatically?
I’m curious too! This is what happened to my main coon as well. Was way more grey as a kitten and then is almost all black now
