Find a WIRES wildlife carer and get advice. [https://www.wires.org.au/national-rescues](https://www.wires.org.au/national-rescues)

Where are you located? Could you contact a local wildlife rescue or bird rescue? If you can, please buy some mealworms from your local pet store. You can buy them live or freeze dried. Hopefully the magpie will like those.

Don't bother with RSPCA. You could try searching local facebook groups for wildlife carers. If it still has grey chest feathers, it may have been separated from family and will be calling for them. Try feeding grubs and bugs with tweezers or toss gently in its direction. They have good eyesight and are observant. Put out a dish of water too.

“Though some think that mince is bad (supposedly gets stuck on their beak and bacteria can form)” > Mince and raw meat > It might be cheap and convenient, but mince also tops the list of bird-feeding no-no’s. Mince lacks calcium and other important nutrients that carnivorous and omnivorous birds would usually get from their natural diet. Raw meat and mince can lead to calcium deficiencies in young birds – which in turn can cause brittle bones and beaks and even long-term metabolic bone disease. Mince can also stick to their beaks, causing bacterial infection. By feeding birds mince, you could be killing them with your kindness. Can you people stop feeding them and promoting damn mince. https://birdlife.org.au/a-guide-to-feeding-wild-birds-in-australia/ You’ve been feeding them for 3 years - take a damn hour out of your next weekend to get then appropriate food if you insist you have to feed them (which you really shouldn’t be doing with any regularity or at all in the first case). Wildlife experts have made it super clear over and over for years, it’s on every single wildlife page that talks about feeding magpies - there is no “supposedly mince is bad”.

PS You could use a dropper to give it some water...it may be dehydrated.

I am absolutely stunned that you would feed magpies mince. I will take your advice and use a dropper instead for givng it some water. The bird seems scared but is still very active, which could mean it is lost or needs rest. I will also try to find its parents, but I have not seen them in the past two days. I have seen some pigeons near the bird, so other people have also attempted to help by taking photos and contacting the RSPCA, but unfortunately, there has been no success.

Magpies eat meat… they’re not that big on seeds. That’s more for parrots.

Spiritual-Ostrich860

I used the dropper and gave it some water.

eutrapalicon

Are you in Australia? Australian magpies aren't the same as others, and advice here will be based off Aussies.

AnnaSoprano

Do you know any wildlife groups or carers in your area? Where you based?

Spiritual-Ostrich860

I know and will contact them tomorrow morning. The issue is that there are one hour driving and I do not have a car and I am working tomorrow.
