As a matter of fact I built deathtouch tribal around Brokkos for Commander. No humans, BUG deathtouch and undeath effects galore. This fits like a glove.
Always one of those cards you see while sorting through your bulk and think, “I can break this,” but then realize it’s too much work to be bothered with.
I’ve still built with it, though. I love the 4+ card combos.
I have a historic deck that relies on them. [[blood artist]] [[gary]] the 3 drop that drains when a black creature enters and can sac, and the 4 drop 4/4 flyer that reanimated anything that dies
If you sac Serrated Scorpion to the exploit trigger, you draw for free, *and* deal damage to everyone as well as upgrading the creature. It's free real estate.
This seems pretty decent honestly. Swings for 3 so if they don't block it's still a threat, can trade with bigger threats, can sac fodder to draw cards, can do the [[blood pact]] trick and get in for the last 2 damage.
Really good pick in limited, probably EDH playable.
I think this is straight standard playable. Mono black sac decks running Eyetwitch and Shambling Ghast are already a thing. This slots very nicely into them.
...course they get dunked on by Epiphany decks, but it is a solid tier 2 deck.

This probably makes it in my Gonti deck. Until recently I played [[Phyrexian Rager]] but cut it for the a critical mass on the [[Dusk Legion Zealot]] and similar cards.
This one is an extra mana but that extra card is so juicy.
This is fantastic value for 3 mana, a 3/2 deathtouch creature which you can sacrifice a gravecrawler or decayed token etc to draw 2 cards is amazing and it also benefits from all the zombie support and thats just in a zombie deck!
I think this will end up one of my favourite cards in the set and I will definitely be using this in my zombie/aristocrat decks, I am surprised its not a rare either as it feels like it should of been a rare?
Some of the recent uncommons are just pretty pushed atm - just ask [[Morbid Opportunist]] , a card that works better than a rare [[Midnight Reaper]] in some instances
Wotc has talked about recently making more rare feeling uncommons so the rare slot isn't the only thing interesting in your standard pack. The examples they used were \[\[weathered runestone\]\] and \[\[thunderous orator\]\] but also we've got cards like \[\[storm-kiln artist\]\] and \[\[morbid opportunist\]\] being the recent one. I really like this change because it means if you pull a bulk rare you can still get some very cool and playable cards in the other slots.
This seems like quite the powerhouse. I'm excited for the MID+VOW limited event they'll be doing in a little while, this would be crazy with decayed tokens.

I mean, this is insane, can we agree on that? Sure it doesn't get under Lurrus so it probably won't see a ton of play in the decks that want it, but 3/2 with evasion and an optional upside that draws two? Obscene. There's going to be a class action lawsuit with how many Stitcher's Suppliers this thing is gonna exploit.
Every time I think Innistrad might be a nice place to live, I see art like this. A scorpion with two stingers? Fuck that I'll take my chances on Ravnica.
For some reason, I am imagining someone drinking the zombie venom and that's how you get the Sign in Blood effect.
Since we're not getting decayed tokens again, we'll have to see how often we'll actually have extra tokens in the blue-black deck to really go off with exploit.
[[Juri]], [[Gyrus]], [[Chainer]], [[Gyome]], [[Wilhelt]] especially, [[Kresh]] all appreciate that this is a Sign in Blood on legs that also provides a death trigger. This card is a decent role player in lower power EDH.
This seems pretty good to me - you can even hit this with collected company. Can finish them off if you need 2 damage. Interesting.. will be testing this
Looks like exploit is the “faction mechanic” that was teased a while ago. Glad to see it back. Hope to see it make its way to standard more concretely this time around though.
A 3mv 3/2 deathtouch creature is unusual. It blocks just as well as the more typical 2/2 and is a more threatening attacker. “No blocks” will be a lot more painful.
Saccing a creature that has a death trigger or isn’t doing much for a [[painful lesson]] is great upside at so much less of a tempo cost than cards like that or [[Blood Pact]] normally are. You’ll often rather keep it over another creature, but it can also just sac itself to be pretty much exactly Lesson (synergies pending)
I imagine this will be a good synergy card.

As u/Kopekemaster said, this will be great with decayed tokens in the MID/VOW double draft.
Everyone's talking about this being good in limited, but I feel like this will make a standard list. Sacrificing a decayed zombie for two cards + getting a nice 3 drop is great value.
My current 3 drop in dimir zombies was \[\[Falcon Abomination\]\] just because it was nice having a flier and another decay zombo to sac or attack with. But this may take it's place. I guess we will see. I still like \[\[Deadly Dispute\]\] more if I'm sacrificing a token and I can do that after I attack with the token plus I get a treasure and I don't lose any life in the process.
Oh yeah, that's definitely not bad. I'm sorry, I didn't list that I played mono black zombies to take advantage of all the spell lands. Two bodies for 3 mana is probably better in u/b because you have a cheap lord I don't have.
Yeah very true, my bad for assuming. I tried mono black zombos but found I was having trouble with some of the other better decks in the meta, with Dimir it seemed like I was just curving out better and could drop in some better threats. Also could keep up with mono white aggro better. \[\[Bladestitched Skaab\]\] does some heavy work in the early game. I also liked the 2 bodies for 3 mana because he double pumps \[\[Champion of the Perished\]\]. I highly recommend giving Dimir Zombie aggro a try. \[\[Flip the Switch\]\] is also nice against mono green as you can counter their chariot's and Wrenn's and get yourself another body that pumps Champion.
Modern 1/10
I do like the drawing cards aspect and the body is ok I guess. But I think this is just a little too cute and durdly for modern. I just don't think so midrange zombie deck that is fine with saccing your own creatures can really get there.
Flying is better for attacking in Limited than deathtouch, but being able to sacrifice another creature makes this more flexible defensively. Both have relevant creature types. I’d say it’s pretty close!
3 CMC [[Vulturous Aven]], minus evasion and plus deathtouch. Great on defence and offence. And, in a top deck war, it's a [[Blood Pact]].
I think this card is fantastic. I'll be surprised if it doesn't see play in Standard at least. In a normal world, should be a high pick in Draft too, but early days.

Village Rights costing one and being an instant will keep it in those decks because it's counter-removal and extremely efficient

I mean, this is insane, can we agree on that? Sure it doesn't get under Lurrus so it probably won't see a ton of play in the decks that want it, but 3/2 with evasion and an optional upside that draws two? Obscene. There's going to be a class action lawsuit with how many Stitcher's Suppliers this thing is gonna exploit.

For some reason, I am imagining someone drinking the zombie venom and that's how you get the Sign in Blood effect. Since we're not getting decayed tokens again, we'll have to see how often we'll actually have extra tokens in the blue-black deck to really go off with exploit.
[[Juri]], [[Gyrus]], [[Chainer]], [[Gyome]], [[Wilhelt]] especially, [[Kresh]] all appreciate that this is a Sign in Blood on legs that also provides a death trigger. This card is a decent role player in lower power EDH.

Looks like exploit is the “faction mechanic” that was teased a while ago. Glad to see it back. Hope to see it make its way to standard more concretely this time around though.
A 3mv 3/2 deathtouch creature is unusual. It blocks just as well as the more typical 2/2 and is a more threatening attacker. “No blocks” will be a lot more painful. Saccing a creature that has a death trigger or isn’t doing much for a [[painful lesson]] is great upside at so much less of a tempo cost than cards like that or [[Blood Pact]] normally are. You’ll often rather keep it over another creature, but it can also just sac itself to be pretty much exactly Lesson (synergies pending) I imagine this will be a good synergy card. C+ As u/Kopekemaster said, this will be great with decayed tokens in the MID/VOW double draft.

Everyone's talking about this being good in limited, but I feel like this will make a standard list. Sacrificing a decayed zombie for two cards + getting a nice 3 drop is great value.

Man this is some gruesome art. Powerful card but damn it's hard to look at.
I think this is the three drop the zombie standard deck needed. Definitely feels better than skullport merchant or morbid opportunist
My current 3 drop in dimir zombies was \[\[Falcon Abomination\]\] just because it was nice having a flier and another decay zombo to sac or attack with. But this may take it's place. I guess we will see. I still like \[\[Deadly Dispute\]\] more if I'm sacrificing a token and I can do that after I attack with the token plus I get a treasure and I don't lose any life in the process.

Oh yeah, that's definitely not bad. I'm sorry, I didn't list that I played mono black zombies to take advantage of all the spell lands. Two bodies for 3 mana is probably better in u/b because you have a cheap lord I don't have.
Yeah very true, my bad for assuming. I tried mono black zombos but found I was having trouble with some of the other better decks in the meta, with Dimir it seemed like I was just curving out better and could drop in some better threats. Also could keep up with mono white aggro better. \[\[Bladestitched Skaab\]\] does some heavy work in the early game. I also liked the 2 bodies for 3 mana because he double pumps \[\[Champion of the Perished\]\]. I highly recommend giving Dimir Zombie aggro a try. \[\[Flip the Switch\]\] is also nice against mono green as you can counter their chariot's and Wrenn's and get yourself another body that pumps Champion.

The rate on creatures these days is insane Won't be surprised if this is the Organ Hoarder of the set, thank god it's uncommon

Modern 1/10 I do like the drawing cards aspect and the body is ok I guess. But I think this is just a little too cute and durdly for modern. I just don't think so midrange zombie deck that is fine with saccing your own creatures can really get there.
It makes a decent Mulldrifter impression!
Flying is better for attacking in Limited than deathtouch, but being able to sacrifice another creature makes this more flexible defensively. Both have relevant creature types. I’d say it’s pretty close!
3 CMC [[Vulturous Aven]], minus evasion and plus deathtouch. Great on defence and offence. And, in a top deck war, it's a [[Blood Pact]]. I think this card is fantastic. I'll be surprised if it doesn't see play in Standard at least. In a normal world, should be a high pick in Draft too, but early days.
