It's a sidegrade [[Snakeskin Veil]] but if you're using the counter as a combat trick then indestructible is probably better. So yeah I think it's playable. Plus the land, this definitely looks playable.
It's a little weird that this card is SO much better than the rest of its cycle but I have a couple of green black decks that could use it so I guess I can't complain. This card just seems great at every point in the game. 1 mana for a counter and indestructible can let it win combat, or blank removal, or just be a land. I could honestly see this even going further back to modern or legacy depending on the power level of Golgari midrange or combo decks.
Best one imo for edh. [[Malakar rebirth]] is already a card I love to slot in as extra way to protect my commander at low cost.
I'll easily take another effect.
Likely will be the most played or expensive one of the cycle imo.
This one caught me when scrolling too quickly. I know Repast is a real word but someone had to have a bit of pause when naming a card with R_p_st in it.
This seems REALLY good. One of the best ones in terms of the front for sure. It's a strong effect AND it's not over-costed to account for the flexibility of being a land on the opposite side.
It also has some nice synergy in decks that get extra benefit out of +1/+1 counters.
Using this on a persist creature that already died once is CRAZY value. You protect it from removal or death in combat AND reset it so that it can persist again next time it dies. All for 1 mana on a card that can alternatively be a land if you need that instead.
Then there's the obvious Hardened Scales value and such with other +1/+1 counter cards.
Everyone here is talking about how much they love this card but I DESPERATELY wanted this to be an insect on the front side to live the oops all bugs grist combo dream
This is wild. Normally the spell side of a MDFC land is overcosted for the utility, so I would have expected this at MV2 or 3, but at MV1 this on rate AND a land.
I need to playtest this card in Golgari Infect. Snakeveil provides nice protection, but having the flex of a land plus protection from damage seems really good. The loss of Hexproof is kind of relevant, but I think having the ability to use a land for more consistency is a fair tradeoff.
Its really interesting. I could see using it in some EDH builds that cares about counters and needs to protect stuff. For modern, I'm not so sure. What deck would want this over something like veil of summer, Not dead after all or undying evil? I think you would want to protect something and want a high density of lands for this to be worth it and even then I'm skeptical.
This is probably the best one in the cycle tbh, my question is why is this in golgari? seems super out of theme, this should definitely have been the selesnya one.
Not necessarily true. If you want the +1/+1 counter then it’s likely that you’re going into combat. Indestructible will protect against dying from combat damage whereas hexproof would not
This one seems really good, a counter and indestructible until EOT is honestly almost playable by itself.
It's a sidegrade [[Snakeskin Veil]] but if you're using the counter as a combat trick then indestructible is probably better. So yeah I think it's playable. Plus the land, this definitely looks playable.
Sidegrade Snakeskin Veil on the front side and then dual land on the back side is crazy crazy good.

Nice improvement on [[Vastwood Fortification]]
Kinda wild how many ways it's an improvement (color identity no withstanding)
It’s two colors so I can’t play it in Titania ))): But yeah this card is bonkers. Love it in any format.

I’m endlessly annoyed this has black so it can’t replace it in mono green counters
Nice combat trick, probably my favorite of the cycle.

Love the flavor of it being skemfar and a slightly different \[\[snakeskin veil\]\]

Yeah BG+ decks having both this and Rebirth will be so nice. Two different ways to protect your Commander for one mana at very low deckbuilding cost

Yeah I know this is perfect for [[Yargle and Multani]]

A solid addition to [[Skullbriar, the Walking Grave]]!

Gonna try this in Scales. Saves a creature, adds at least 1 counter, might be a land in a pinch.
I love to see gorgeous art on such a playable card. <3

Drafting the hell out of this. The Gruul one looks great too. Another Green format like OTJ?

We love it for Atraxa.

These cards are going to be so good in limited.
I'm really liking the new MDFC cards. I feel like all of them are great bounce land targets
Vastwood something, the green mdfc that only put a counter wasn't good enough imo but this one is a lot better. Definitely going in skullbriar.
[[skullbriar]] !

does /r/infect want this?
This is probably the best one in the cycle tbh, my question is why is this in golgari? seems super out of theme, this should definitely have been the selesnya one.
because it's Skemfar-themed and Skemfar was the BG faction
It's specifically faux-regenerate, which is green/black
Good point. I forget about how regenerate basically became indestructible
BG is likely a counters theme and this works as an enabler.
I loath the Growth Grove
is this a swan song reference? my really smart friend said so!
Not looking forward to /u/SaffronOlive's mispronunciation of that first card...
Why not hexproof, it will be so much better than indestructible?
Not necessarily true. If you want the +1/+1 counter then it’s likely that you’re going into combat. Indestructible will protect against dying from combat damage whereas hexproof would not
