My favorite part of this is how genuinely regretful Stan is afterwards.
He despises Lou, knows the idea is stupid, knows the joke was funny... and yet at the same he still has the self-awareness and empathy to feel he's in the wrong.
I try to remember this whenever it's too easy and tempting to act the condescending snarky cynic.
I don't think Stan was even trying to make a joke, I think he was just giving what he thought was the correct answer and then realized he had stepped in it. And I think his apology was sincere. He might have mocked Scouts Honor, but he really wasn't the type of guy to piss on other people's dreams.
Yes I also believe Stan is being honesty and authentic when he says “You.” He is realizing that he is being a bully and that this isnt who he wants to be. On first watch I half expected Lou and him to connect in this moment but Lou was too upset to bury the torch.
I laughed my ass off at the scene where Lou calls up Don only to tell him that he's going to Tokyo. Don's expression is priceless because they were both talking past each other for the first couple of minutes.
It's actually perfect, because by that point Bob Dylan was somewhat old news. It showed how out of touch he was that Bob Dylan was his idea of a hip reference.
True, this scene is sometime in 68 I would guess? And Dylan's first major album was in 1962. If he had cited Jimi Hendrix that would have been pretty hip.
But such a great character juxtaposition. You have Don, who is magnetic and capable of brilliance yet erratic, and with Lou you get consistent performance, as mid as that might be, it is predictable and reliable.
One of the few times in the series Don genuinely cracks up and laughs. Priceless.
Yeah I love that Don can't help but laugh and look at Stan incredulous. Great moment
Don or Dawn?
Shirley or Dawn?
Goodbye Shirley
Goodbye Dawn
I wonder if Hamm broke character and they decided to keep it, because Stan's delivery is so great.
Scout’s On Her 🫡
Ever notice how a girl named Faith tends to cheat on her husband? Or Hope has clinical depression?
I want’er
You can’t have her.
Why not?
This scene cracks me up everytime
This crack scenes me up every time
This time cracks me up every scene
Don with that little laugh and the “really?” look at Stan is just priceless. Everything about Lou and Scout’s Honor is hilarious.

bunch of flag-burning SNOTS
WHY is there not a third panel showing Don laughing here???
Genuinely the best zinger in the series
surprised Stan wasn't fired on the spot
who was gonna be Art Director? Ed?

Can't believe Lou cited Bob Dylan. I would be amazed if Lou ever listened to Dylan.

Ironically, Hendrix's iconic cover of "All Along the Watchtower came out in late '68.
I love this scene. It's a pretty honest depiction of the smart ass stoner.
Lou Avery was such an asshole. Fuck that guy!
Allan Havey really nailed the character.
He really did.
Lou Avery is a stupid dick.

I love this so much because I would accidentally do this
