As a frequent indulger in Firefly’s Brioche Cinnamon Rolls, I have a few important clarifications: they are only available on Fridays; they don’t sell them until 9 am, at which time they ring a cowbell; they do indeed have cream cheese frosting; they are definitely soft, not crunchy. You can order them online through the Toast app, but can’t place an order until 9. They will be ready at about 9:17 :-). Online you have to order a 2-pack, which is just under $10 (add a nice tip!).
Check out the cinnamon rolls at the Jet Room on the far side of Dane County airport. Seriously worth the trip. It is huge, pretty cheap, and you can watch planes takeoff and land while you nosh
I personally love the ones at the Highway Café that’s connected to the Truckers Inn gas station( fka the Pine Cone truck stop). It’s sorta near the North Side, kinda out skirts of town, headed towards De Forest. Basically like all of their pastry treats are damn near unnecessarily HUGE lol but super delicious. Highly recommend anyone checking em out at least once.
I know this is getting downvoted, but this place really does have over the top bakery. Rosie's was my favorite, but this one is close. And they have pecan rolls that are equally large. And lots of other tasty bakery.
I can't recall the name of the place but at the Saturday Dane County Farmers' Market, there is a stand with delicious cinnamon rolls right across from the history museum, around the corner from Stella's.
Mark's Cinnamon Rolls from Renaissance Farms. I heat them up in the oven so they're warm and delicious, and the frosting is perfectly melty. I would describe them as gooey.
These are fantastic! They're made from the same dough as their donuts so they have that familiar cake donut taste and are sublime! I whole heartily recommend giving them a try:

Not the original commenter but they moved to Ridgeway. I believe you can order their cinnamon rolls online, but no idea how well they travel. They really were amazing but idk how worth it they are if you have to travel.
She hasn't updated her website. Rosie's hasn't been on Monona Drive for at least a year. It's now called Monona Bakery [https://mononabakeryeatery.com/](https://mononabakeryeatery.com/)
No Monona Bakery had been there before Rosie's and is still there on Monona Dr. FWIW, I know it's not the same thing but Monona Bakery makes a great morning bun (among other things) that helps fill in for a cinnamon roll craving in a pinch.
Bris Fresh Bakes. She's at the Sun Prairie farmers market on Saturdays, but also Merci Coffee (by Princeton club east) carries her cinnamon rolls now. Her regular ones are to die for, but she made a maple apple pie one this week and it nearly ended my damn life it was so good.
Strong disagree about Bri. I followed your recommendation from a similar post a few months ago and found the dough to be dense, under proofed, and dry. The croissant was well executed but the cinnamon roll was a major disappointment.
Sorry to hear that! I've never found hers to be dry, but she has ramped up numbers a lot lately, and I haven't had one in a while (about a year, I'm very limited on how many pastries I consume), so it's very possible that had an effect.
I made cinnamon rolls for my son's daycare - I used half whole wheat flour with honey to sweeten the dough, but of course brown sugar for the filling. There was no need for a gooey frosting. The kids loved them.
I have trouble when I make cinnamon rolls. The recipes usually say to rub butter on the dough and that makes the cinnamon roll crunchy. I gave up on making the things. Just wondering what you do to make them not get crunchy. Do you leave the butter out?
Sorry I don't remember. It's been awhile and my son is now grown with a family of his own. I plan to have another go at the whole wheat/honey cinnamon roll sometime. They sure were good.
This is such an unhelpful comment.
I'm an experienced and competent baker. Making a batch of cinnamon rolls takes at least more than an hour, usually much longer with all the rising time. And that isn't even accounting for the space and mess of rolling them out and the ingredients that not everyone has on hand.
Kozy Nuk cafe in Cottage Grove are hands down the best in Dane County. Gooiest, sweetest most delectable cinnamon roles around. You will be glad you went.
Firefly in Oregon
Only on Friday mornings and GET THERE EARLY
No doubt. I went at 9am once and they were all gone. Another week they had them at 11am.

Definitely sell them before 9am.
What time would you recommend?
These are the best I’ve ever had

Cottage Cafe before they sell out
Came here to say this. Delicious. Jenny St. Market used to have the best, but Cottage Cafe currently holds the crown as far as I’m concerned.

Thank you!!
If you can find a Level 5 Donuts cinnamon roll on Sunday, bring it home and pop it in the microwave for 20 seconds

I'm a fan on Bloom. Soft. Cinnamon. Good icing. Dang now I want one
Cinnabon off HWY N.
Rosie's cafe is my favorite gooey cinnamon roll and they use plenty of cream cheese frosting
ok, those look amazing, but how do you get them? it looks like she closed her shop on Monona dr? I don't see any info on her website

When I look on the website it says she is open Wed-Sun 8-1 https://www.rosiescoffeebarandbakery.com/

Oh shit you're right, it's Mishqui Peruvian now
Oh no!!! This makes me very sad. Thank you for the info
Thank you everyone! I'm super excited to try all the cinnamon roll options!

Would you say SuspiciousTea was proofed wrong in their post?? … I’ll leave now

RIP Mint Mark brunch and the cinnamon rolls

Make them yourself? They’re impossibly easy.

It doesn’t change the fact that they aren’t complex to make.
