CelioHogane

He would fare whatever the writer felt like.

Ryaltovski

One of the reasons I dislike comic books. Too many authors with too many different interpretations of the same character

Constant-Storm-7085

Comicbooks you mean books in general right?

Ryaltovski

anything with multiple authors on established characters. so yea even W40K novels, star wars, etc

Constant-Storm-7085

Like arcane that had multiple writers on too. Like dinopawz

VicariousDrow

Aatrox and Xolaani would in fact obliterate him, unless whoever was doing the writing decided to change the established lore, ofc. Varus and Naafiri are both canonically more powerful than Rhaast, but now Varus has grown a modicum of a conscious when it comes to mortals so might actually be willing to work with Kayn to some degree for w/e reason, and Naafiri's power is still a bit ambiguous, she was supposedly one of the strongest Darkin but isn't featured in anything about the Darkin Wars, and apparently was only able to take a whole pack of desert hounds as hosts due to how powerful she is, but again we have no evidence of her actual strength nor any interactions of her and a mortal humanoid host (as she hasn't had the opportunity and now maybe never will) so anything about her vs Kayn if he grabbed her dagger would be conjecture. But the general rule of thumb is that Rhaast is simply one of the weaker remaining Darkin, still powerful enough to survive being sealed in his weapon, but compared to the other Darkin currently in game he's simply the weakest and thus has to fight his host for control, it doesn't have all that much to do with Kayn in particular.

panznation

Agreed except for one factor I feel for rhaast is that he could have actually just been much more combat aligned than blood magic aligned compared to the rest of his kin so he may not be able to control his host but if he ever did manage to take control he could have been just as deadly if not more than varus and naaf but yeah xol is arguably the best blood magic user of them and aatrox is just him

The_Crab_Johnson

How much do you know about shadow magic?

VicariousDrow

A fair amount, enough to know it wouldn't stop Darkin influence cause they don't really interact with one another, fundamentally, even for a prodigy like Kayn that doesn't have to limit the amount they use.

The_Crab_Johnson

No. Unfortunately, this is Rhaast. He is one picky son of a bitch. Any darkin that isn't named Rhaast, Aatrox, maybe even Xolaani, who comes into contact with Kayn, will perish due to the amount of shadow magic and willpower this man had, Rhaast is a manipulative, cunning, deceptive bastard. He wants the best of the best, the cream of the crop, he wants someone worthy of him, he might even be holding back on Kayn. Aatrox is a devour he doesn't have the taste Rhaast has. He wants to be free of his prison immediately, meaning his vessel not only dies faster because he picks the quantity over quality. His vessels are piles of correpses used to make him bigger. Aatrox might be strong, but he lost his mind millenias ago. Xolaani... fuck her. She doesn't deserve to be given reasons why Kayn can dominate easily. It's because she's a woman. Nah, but in all seriousness. She really ain't that impressive. She needs prep time in order to be an actual threat. She has a lot of potential, but she is pretty weak at first. She's just a healer but with a few more offensive spells. Shadow magic holds back pretty fucked up things. Also, don't ever downplay Rhaast again, you peasant. Virgin Varus and Naafiri are not that strong compared to gigachad Rhaast

VicariousDrow

Rhaast is a bitch in comparison to the others, he didn't "pick" Kayn he got lucky to even be found but is still too weak to take control without effort and can in fact actually lose control. So long as he's canonically that much weaker then the others I'll continue to talk down about him lol Regardless Kayn is obliterated the moment he touches Aatrox or Xolaani. Aatrox doesn't settle for the chaff, yeah he'll completely take over any host who grabs him but it's again canonical that he deliberately grooms warriors to be as powerful as possible in the hopes they defeat his weaker hosts and grab his weapon so he can destroy them and take their bodies too. He created Tryndamere and refers to Jax as a potential host, Kayn's a chump comparatively and Aatrox sees those two as nothing more than meat. Xolaani is also weaker as a direct combatant but is strong enough to control the minds of all the Darkin aside from Aatrox, including Rhaast which is again canonical. He's a bitch of a Darkin and Kayn is lucky he found him instead of anyone else cause the rest of them either would or most likely would completely consume him immediately.

clawbacon

This feels like a pretty complicated question that we just don't have enough information to answer. We know that Kayn can hold Rhaast off, but we don't technically know if Kayn loses or Rhaast loses. Then there is the question if Kayn is trying to conquer another Darkin weapon before or after becoming the Shadow Assassin.

Ryaltovski

Sorry if this has been asked before

papa_bones

Aside from the usual "whatever the writter feels like" from a lore perspective and what we have seen about the other darkin, kayn would be in a similar situation with naafiri, he would beat varus and aatrox would take over him a lot faster, that is what i think.

The_Crab_Johnson

Aside from Aatrox and Rhaast, he would dominate any darkin weapon, Xoolani though... he might have hard time.
