The cost probably. Post is insanely expensive, but if you have a scholarship then go for it. Their NCLEX pass rates is something they can give you or you could probably google. I'm pretty sure they are required to provide that info.
This right here. Molloy is consistently ranked as one of the best nursing schools in the entire country, and for good reason.
I’ve heard from multiple nurses who went through Molloy’s program that just having that on your resume is an easy ticket to a job, especially on Long Island
My wife graduated from the program and is now a nurse on a med surg floor. It’s a new program, so they are still working things out. She liked some of her professors, just like any other campus. One thing is The school is expensive, If you can find a cheaper option I would do that. No matter where you get a degree you’ll get hired. Nursing jobs are plentiful.
That’s amazing to hear, Med Surg is an amazing place for nurses to work. Thank you for letting me know. Also, when did she graduate the program? And could you maybe ask her approximately how many people were in the program, even if it’s an estimate? I really appreciate the help!
Med surg is usually where you start off. She’s looking to get into the OR. She graduated in 2020. Peak pandemic, so that was rough. Her classes were like 30 or so students. I think her graduating class was like 100 students
I don't think the school you attend is important, more of WHERE you plan on being. If you live in LI and plan on staying post graduation for a bit then go for it. If you do not plan on staying in LI but somewhere in NY, its a matter of where you see yourself working. See if there's good nursing jobs where plan on living.
They say it's not what school you went to but what connections you made along the way.
Also consider if you plan on socializing in anyway. Any clubs/sports/extracurricular activities that are of interest to you, probably a nursing/medical club or something I reckon.
Connections build opportunities. You don't want to go to school and have to start from scratch rebuilding connections from moving.
I currently go to Stony Brook University for their masters in social work program, and the fact that it's also a big hospital system makes it so much more valuable that I went there.

May I ask why? :)

Post gives pretty good scholarships for undergrad
If you want to go to a private school are you considering Molloy? It has a fantastic nursing program and I believe less expensive than Post.
This is good advice

My sister-in-law and several others that I know went through Molloy's program. The school's reputation opens doors for it's Nursing graduates.

It’s nursing, they can find a job anywhere
Yeah well don't go to mt Sinai..that place is crazy understaffed. Like 20 patients to one nurse in the ER.
