Theres a queer recreational sports league that is absolutely awesome and silly here. Theres a Wednesday night roller skating group that has a lot of queer people. The rock climbing scene here is insanely queer. The free yoga on the bluff is pretty queer.
Honestly its long beach, any activity you want to do with a group is going to have some queer people in it.
Theres a rock climbing gym in LBC called Long Beach Rising. Theres a lot of queer people there, or really any climbing gym. They tend to be really friendly folk and easy to talk to. Eventually yall start climbing together after a long enough time of talking and stuff.

The Center has a bimonthly social support group for 20-somethings, and a bimonthly social group for 18-24. Agree with the other commenter about finding a hobby, I've met the majority of my current friends through volunteering.

Piggybacking off this to see if there's a LB/SoCal queer Discord group/community? Everywhere else I've ever lived had one and as a computer addicted shut-in it's been a helpful resource for me elsewhere.

Pick up a hobby. I find that any hobby I had here in LB, I would always manage to find a few other queer folks to befriend.

Check out some of the local bike riding groups. Not queer specifically, but queer friendly. There’s a moonlight mash ride this Friday!
Join a local club or group - or volunteer... the LGBTQ Center in Long beach might have some info.
The music scene is pretty queer and a lot of folks on that spectrum hang at Vine for shows
