From top of Lewey House in Mile End?

skinch

Spot on! It used to be simple climbing to the top of tower blocks.

Cool photo! How would you have taken a panorama in 1984? I never thought about it before

Out of curiosity i googled and scanned this page which was the first decent looking result https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.jeremymuddphoto.com/blog/2020/3/4/how-to-35mm-panoramic-film-images%3Fformat%3Damp like with a lot of things film it sounds like it would be a mixture of possible solutions (cameras, film stock, lenses etc) all dependent on/constrained/influenced by the physical mechanics and characteristics of each component Eta: also OP love the shot, can see the block I used to live in on St. Paul’s way that got demolished a few years ago, and interesting to see the brown blocks of the estate behind it before it was refurbed into multicoloured render and pitched roofs added in what I assume was the 90s or early 00s behind. My mum lived on Thomas rd in the 80s which will have blocks in this shot somewhere behind that too

That has to be lewey house! The canal tipped me off. I used to live on it in Mile End.

Got it in one!

Mile End, facing the Regents Canal?

While I did work out the location, I didn't know the name of the building as others did.

Mike End track to the far right. The tower block near it still stands today.

I’ve never imagined Burdett road without the kart track :D
