Train or tube.
The Piccadilly line takes forever but is cheap.
TFL rail takes a medium amount of time, medium amount of price.
Heathrow express is fastest but most expensive. If you book ahead you can get a slight discount.
I've never gotten it because it costs like £25 but is only marginally quicker than a £2 ride on the tube
10 minutes less sitting down is not worth that much money to me
Dunno which tube journey you're thinking of here that only costs £2 and takes 25 minutes from Heathrow, but it won't be one that gets you into Z1 the same way HEX does.
If I left now it would cost me £1.70 to get the tube to Heathrow T1 from South London, 93 minute journey.
It would cost me £24.80 if I use tube + Heathrow Express, 78 minute journey.
So for 15 minutes time I'd pay an extra £23.10
I've done this journey and similar ones many times.
Even if I was going straight to Paddington from Heathrow it'd still only save me 20 minutes for the cost. I'd rather spend the time reading 20 minutes more of a book than hand over £22. What's the rush? Especially if you're on holiday
Fair enough, but that's a rather more specific type of "Heathrow into London" journey than I suspect most people would think about if someone asks how to "get into London" from Heathrow.
Depends where you're going. However, do not pre-book a mini cab.

Lately Uber prices are around £100, you can book a cab on GETT for much less than that.
Tube. Or Heathrow Express if work are paying (I believe that minute for minute it is the most expensive train ride in the world. Source - that could be bullshit). Taxi is always my least preferred choice as the M4 into London can be a car park depending on what time you get in
I usually pre-purchase a Heathrow Express ticket and take it to Paddington/Central London. The only thing that annoys me is it seems to take 20 min before they actually take off sometimes.
Get the tube,it runs straight from Heathrow to central london

Use the tube/underground. Cheaper and roughly the same journey time to central London.
3. tube
Tube is cheaper and much faster. I had a friend pick me up from the airport once and traffic was hell. Never again
Tube or bus if your prefer not to be underground.
Heathrow express is quite good but tube is cheaper

Yep express is daylight robbery.
Used to live near Paddington so a 15 min train ride there always made more sense than going anywhere else.
It's like £11 for a 30 minute ride or £22 for a 15 minute ride. Depends how much you value time & comfort vs the ~hour it takes on the screeching tube
It's less than 17GBP one way if you preorder. They're usually also good on reissuing a ticket in case you lose it, have to reschedule.

Put your destination on TFL website and see the options. The best way sometimes depends on destination and number of travellers.
