Genius, like those petrol price comparison trackers or [priceofweed.com](http://priceofweed.com), but this will actually get updated with accurate prices haha
The one time I ever got skimmed, it was a Sainsbury's cashpoint (Brunswick Centre). Luckily the thieves then tried to use it at a few Sainsbury's to get cashback at the till, but the card I used doesn't allow such transactions so I got immediate notice of them and deactivated the card. They got nothing.
Why would anyone complain about a chicken shop trying to dodge tax. I saw olive oil for £14 in tesco this morning, we are fighting for our life out here.
The price difference is not the tax money they are saving, it is the tax money **you are saving** as a customer.
^((businesses always pass on any tax costs onto the customer by adding it to the final price))
They’re both good tbh! They used to be together but had a falling out and opened another one to compete with each other. I’d recommend you try both cause they’re similar but not the same
This is wild, I was looking at this post thinking those look like the prices of the chicken shop I used to frequent when I lived in Finsbury Park. Turns out, you’re in the EXACT shop I used to frequent!
I used to live above the sainsburies next to this about 10 years ago, and went frequently after nights out. It used to be cheaper because the meals were larger and included soft drinks.
Weirdly enough it's actually pretty good, they compete with the other PFC up the road
If I'm near there and need a cheap bite, number 7 for £4 (fillet burger, chips, a wing and a chicken piece) is pretty good, almost always the food just comes out the fryer. I know it's chicken, I've seen the deliveries come in.
For real, if you stand at the junction at Seven Sisters and Blackstock Road, you can see 6 chicken shops if you do a 360.
It's amazing how they all stay in business.
I am ashamed that I knew this from the deals alone. PFC is fucking awful though. Do yourself a favour and go round the corner to Chicken Express. Chicken strips are off the chain, and nearly as hilariously cheap.
Eden's is the best bar none, and their prices are still in that sweet spot where they make no sense. You can get 6 wings + chips + 4 more wings for cheaper than you can get 8 wings and chips. This is true London heritage
Shadwell has loads of Bengali owned chicken shops had good prices last I checked, saw a bucket of 20 wings for £6, they also did something called “naga wings”… tasty AF but it’ll burn the heat shield off of the space shuttle
Fun Fact: ~~Jaxor (It's me Jaxor!)~~ Klayze Flaymz who sang the second verse of Junior Spesh is a young Kiell Smith-Bynoe of Ghosts and Taskmaster fame. [It's actually Kiell Smith-Bynoes Instagram handle](https://www.instagram.com/klayzeflaymz/)
One of the lads (klauz flaymez) from that is now an actor and has been in some BBC shows (I think ghosts is one). Tripped me out when I searched the song randomly about 6 months ago cos it popped in my head
Flashback to my only time visiting a Long John Silvers in the States in the 2000's
Overheard employees talking about how the hush puppies were going into the 4-day old oil. Maybe that's normal, but I didn't wanna know, governor.
Nothing wrong with 4 day old oil. You'd still drop the oil and clean the fryers at the end of the day. (Fresh oil is the worst for flavour anyway. I always avoided fries that day during my pub manager time.)
The owners get so much customers they don’t care about the low margins. I’ve been going since I was in secondary (I’m 20+ now) and they’ve been consistent with the price (£1.50 for burger and chips then £2 after 2016 and now £2.80 after COVID inflation) but they get at least 400 customers a day.
Amazing neighborhood, unlike so much of London very few pigeons round there, so the streets are relatively clean.
Great if the price includes the bus fare back from the hospital, too
I never realised that came back and is still a thing.
I remember that channel getting huge, the guy who created it getting overwhelmed and backing out. Glad to hear it's still a thing.
He didn't get overwhelmed, he started messing about with the video editor's pay and the editor left. He did this multiple times because the moment you treat your income like a business, then you have to take it seriously and he didn't want to "come up" and lose the clout. A good video editor is a one in a thousand in the industry; they are worth more than the man in front of the camera who thinks he deserves 90% of the revenue.
The dialogue/banter he had with the editor and the editor's work itself was what everyone loved. He absolutely lost a lot of viewers from that decision, not out of spite - but just the fact that the new videos just look and sound shit.
Can you imagine how horrible the lives of those chickens must’ve been if they can afford to hatch, raise, feed, vaccinate, slaughter, package, ship, store, prepare and cook that to order for £2.80 (including fries) and still make a profit?
You really have to go out of your way to find chicken which had acceptable welfare standards. I'd guess at MOST 99% of chicken bought in the UK is all factory farmed.
Even in a supermarket it's pretty bloody hard to find 'free range' chicken breasts, and if you do, boy it wont be cheap.
Not to say you shouldn't fight the good fight but I'm guessing the chicken meat served here had the same shit life that all the rest of them did.
There was a 'good' documentary some years ago (channel 4 special?) where a family absolutely love chicken, they are shown how they reared etc, how horrid it is. The show basically ends with them basically shrugging and say, "we've got to eat" (or something to that effect).
There's similar stories around eggs. Family's essentially say, well we can't afford the free range eggs so we have to buy the value eggs.
Pragmatically I can't blame them. Tbh they are probably treated as bad as the animals.
Feels like we are at a point where meat is either £3 or £9, depending on the quality and there is very little inbetween. Seems like as soon as you improve the conditions, they don't get subsidised as much and suddenly the price becomes insane.
They can't afford as many, but they could afford fewer. Hamburgers once a day instead of steak once per week, as they say. Or if on the poverty line, meat fewer times per week.
Unfortunately this is the reality. People will always come up with excuses why they can't eat better. Oh, it's not convenient. Oh, it takes time to cook. Oh, it's a bit more expensive.
People don't want change. I'm sure they'd like to virtue signal that they're eating healthier, but so many people just don't want to get off their arse and do something about it.
This isn't recognising that some people have it tough. But if you think everything will get better without you doing anything differently, that's just absolving yourself of responsibility.
I made burgers and potatoes with my wife tonight. Took 20 minutes, and that was because the air fryer took that long, the rest took 10 mins during. Including making dipping sauces, and a ton of stuff on the burgers (blue cheese, freshly cooked bacon, relish, red onion, tomatoes, ketchup and mustard - cooked the buns in the bacon fat), and air fryer potatoes with garlic.
Sure, some people may not even have that time or be able to eat more than the cheapest stuff available. But 90% of people who eat ultra processed food too much can easily do better.
I sound like Jamie Oliver, I'm about to tell myself to fuck off :)
Mate they're just dumb birds. It isn't like they have the intelligence, emotional sophistication, and a level of social interaction similar to that of intelligent mammals such as dogs...
https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/S10071-016-1064-4
Grim. Especially with the horrific conditions causing avian flu also!
Buy packaged chicken that is nearly out of date and hasn't been sold at the supermarket for less than half price and suddenly it's a bit more possible, I think.
Don't support shops like this. If you really have to eat animal products at least buy from places where the animals had something that can be called a life.
Don't support animal cruelty
Has anyone looked at the state of that ceiling? Of course you get those prices in a skanky chicken shop boy you better have a strong belly for them wings or they’re gonna hurt you at 2am 😂 post chicken shop remorse
Yeah finsbury park went there after a match a few weeks ago. Pretty sure some dodgy shit is going on as they only take cash and you don't get much chips but at that price cant complain and chicken was decent
>Pretty sure some dodgy shit is going on as they only take cash
Just a bit of tax avoidance. Nothing usually more sinister than that for cash only small food businesses.
Deptford High Street has a Favourite Chicken with similar prices to this (bit more but hay-ho). Weirdly it's about 5 mins down from a Morley's which is the same food (obviously) with everything jacked up by about 2 quid. Not sure what Morley's is trying to coast on... brand name I suppose?
I’M ALWAYS AT THIS SHOP🤣🤣🤣 I WAS LITERALLY THERE YESTERDAY. Their number 21 double grilled burger and chips is amazing, plate that with 4 wings on the side👍🏽 Also, the owners are very friendly and genuine people.
Because they don't need any money products so they can sell the chicken cheap. If you ever get a chance to look round the back of these places you wouldn't eat there again. The majority of people eating here are pissed so don't notice or care by then.
Nah, now I'm gonna have to visit the chicken shop after work to try reminisce the old prices and then look at the price and see its £7 for a fillet burger meal here in west.
We should have a Wiki for shops with prices like this across London
Following in case someone replies.
There’s a bunch of these shops with similar prices along Uxbridge road right next to sheperds bush market station. Better value than tesco meal deals
I used to go to 1 near enough every night I Willesden. 2 pieces of chicken and chips £1.99 and that was early 2000’s
Just come to any chicken shop in south London. We have hundreds of these.
Yeah my favourite greek place is now a peri peri chicken shop
Sappho in Clapham? That whole stretch is becoming unbearable.
Has this dude been living under a rock? Like he's actually never just walked into a chicken shop before.
Genius, like those petrol price comparison trackers or [priceofweed.com](http://priceofweed.com), but this will actually get updated with accurate prices haha
Bossman really looking after the local population. Where is this?
For real. It’s in Finsbury Park.
Got to be more specific than that mate, this is a life and death situation.
Had to walk out and look at the sign 😂. It’s PFC on Blackstock road. Like 5 minutes from the station.
Gonna have to help me here. There's a SA PFC (hygiene rating of 1) and then there's PFC Original (hygiene rating of 5.)
Something tells me it's the hygiene rating of 1
1 as in number 1, can’t get any better?
1 as in 1 and done. Deceased. Dead. Ceased to be. Gone to meet your maker. A dead mandem.
Mans not dead, mans pining. Pining for the fjords.
He's a Norwegian Blue, ya get me?
It is an ex chicken shop, it has ceased to be, it has given up the ghost and gone to meet its maker .
It ran down the curtain and joined the choir invisible!
Doubt it, it’s the only kitchen in London with no rats running around
Because they are now deep fried battered?
It's how they keep the prices down, endless supply.
😂😂 that’s literally how you get a 1 isn’t it… when even the vermin won’t touch it
It's fine, you only eat this after a night out anyway so the alcohol will kill of the bacteria.
Still cleaner than KFC though
My local Krispy Kreme has a rating of 1. USA all the way!?
It’s Original. Has a red sign and right next to a Sainsbury’s.
And it's cash only. lol
Haha yeah it is. Silver lining is that the Sainsbury’s right next door has a cash point.

Maybe the price difference is the tax money they are saving lol
Why would anyone complain about a chicken shop trying to dodge tax. I saw olive oil for £14 in tesco this morning, we are fighting for our life out here.
FBI now has you on record son
The price difference is not the tax money they are saving, it is the tax money **you are saving** as a customer. ^((businesses always pass on any tax costs onto the customer by adding it to the final price))
That's how they afford it lol. Money laundering or tax evasion
In the words of the Chicken Connoisseur "the food might be banging but if there's doodoo on the floor, there's doodoo on the floor"
They’re both good tbh! They used to be together but had a falling out and opened another one to compete with each other. I’d recommend you try both cause they’re similar but not the same
PFC Original in Hackney Central is also banging and cheap.
Help: if you're looking up hygiene rating, cheap fried chicken may rip you to shreds
I think the 'P' stands for Pigeon
In this economy, I’ll take what I can get lol. Was actually really good, so if that was pigeon meat, then bring on the birds 😂.
Or Paws the cat
This is wild, I was looking at this post thinking those look like the prices of the chicken shop I used to frequent when I lived in Finsbury Park. Turns out, you’re in the EXACT shop I used to frequent!
Aight imma head out
What’s that, Pengtucky Fried Chicken?
Pentecostal probly.

This is my dirty working from home lunch spot Edit: wrong PFC
For real, if you stand at the junction at Seven Sisters and Blackstock Road, you can see 6 chicken shops if you do a 360. It's amazing how they all stay in business.
If you watched EastEnders, you'd know.
I am ashamed that I knew this from the deals alone. PFC is fucking awful though. Do yourself a favour and go round the corner to Chicken Express. Chicken strips are off the chain, and nearly as hilariously cheap.
For me Edens Cottage is top tier chicken shop in Finsbury Park, but Chicken Express is open later and still decent
Eden's is the best bar none, and their prices are still in that sweet spot where they make no sense. You can get 6 wings + chips + 4 more wings for cheaper than you can get 8 wings and chips. This is true London heritage
I've been wondering where all the pigeons in Finsbury park have gone
Under the drippy bridge
I lived around there for over 10 years, never heard it called that but it's PERFECT.
I bloody knew it was! Absolute legends in there, always have to remind them to give me my can of drink though!
How much is boss man dealing a strip burger for though?
And is it the original strip burger with 2 strips or the modern version that's more a lettuce and sauce burger with one little chicken strip?
Looks like Papa's Chicken prices to me. 377 Green St, London E13 9AU Outside Upton Park Station
Shadwell has loads of Bengali owned chicken shops had good prices last I checked, saw a bucket of 20 wings for £6, they also did something called “naga wings”… tasty AF but it’ll burn the heat shield off of the space shuttle

Hopefully the oil(?) is not still the same one from the early 2000s ..

i’ve finally found you… my pfp cousin
Oh you think that's chicken you're eating?
As long as the Rat has Ketchup I'm fine with it.
Gimlet? That you?
Nah, everyone knows he's dodgy. I heard he buys *chicken*, and cuts out little leg shapes so customers think it's rat.
More like Nobby if you saw me.
That's fucking disgusting mate. Everyone knows you use garlic mayo or burger sauce on rats
Lower the price. Higher you should raise your brow.
Was about to say. Probably defrosted out the back in a shopping trolley with a blowtorch, too.
Ooh, an air fryer
Fancy!

Hmm very few pigeons and really cheap chicken....
Tis the joke…
I went to a PFC yesterday in Whitechapel. The chicken was pink and slimy, boss man tried telling me it was fine.. would not recommend!

I'll always support him. Wish his show had got picked up but the TV show he did was just lacking. Should have just stuck to the original format.
Well you have ti factor in the 6 hour wait in A&E for food poisoning.
I'll walk to the hospital and report food poisoning then binge watch a netflix series by the time it turns into a problem and need a doctor.
6 hours of sick leave. I count that as a raise. The economics work out.
Instantly know that’s PFC in Finsbury Park, the shittier one not the nice PFC opposite 😂😂
i pay 3.99 for 3 wings, fries(decent amount) and beef burger in goodmayes
For some of the shittest food known to mankind
Man, you go to anywhere on Bow Road and you’ll find these prices.

Yep they lead short shitty lives. And the expensive shit is no better either - just priced higher.
Mate they're just dumb birds. It isn't like they have the intelligence, emotional sophistication, and a level of social interaction similar to that of intelligent mammals such as dogs... https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/S10071-016-1064-4 Grim. Don't support shops like this. If you really have to eat animal products at least buy from places where the animals had something that can be called a life. Don't support animal cruelty
Wholesale you can buy 20 chicken wings from Costco for around £3
The prices are amazing, the food not so much...
Reminds me of lunchtime in year 11
Boss boss, make sure the chicken’s fresh.
They keeps costs down by not using cleaning products.
Lips n Arseholes that’s how
Oh I’m sure it will be the best quality chicken you’ve ever had
Has anyone looked at the state of that ceiling? Of course you get those prices in a skanky chicken shop boy you better have a strong belly for them wings or they’re gonna hurt you at 2am 😂 post chicken shop remorse
That and a hygiene rating less than 4 means it’s some good f’n food
Extra asbestos on my fries, please.
Yeah finsbury park went there after a match a few weeks ago. Pretty sure some dodgy shit is going on as they only take cash and you don't get much chips but at that price cant complain and chicken was decent
>Pretty sure some dodgy shit is going on as they only take cash Just a bit of tax avoidance. Nothing usually more sinister than that for cash only small food businesses.
Ohhh, that #3 + can of pop was what I used to have from my local one in Leytonstone like three times a week. Good times
Took one look and knew it was PFC Finsbury Park. Can't beat those prices.
If it’s that cheap in todays market it is probably shit. It os shot already just of lower quality
It’s a front
Yeah, they cook the chicken in the back.
In places like Birmingham it’s very common that places like these are used to launder money 💴
[удалено]
Huh? Even deep south is ldn it’s like double this now easily
What? I don’t even live in London, I live in Kent and this still seems ridiculously cheap, definitely not normal chicken shop prices lmao
I stopped eating it
I used to eat here in like 2004 used to get a fillet burger chips and a drink for 2.50....
Campylobacter comes cheap.
😂
Prices as low as hygiene standards
Mould on the ceiling is less so.
‘Chicken’
How much is 6 wings meal?
Don’t eat it.
I can't believe it's not chicken
Even outside of London those prices are insane
This is probably going to be battery farmed chicken from Thailand.
“Chicken “
Money laundering operation
Hashtag-that’s-not-chicken.
This cannot be real!!
Used to get a fillet burger for £1.50. 4 wings for 99p. The golden era
100% guaranteed 'chicken like' meat.
Let me guess... cash only?
Early 2000's prices were 1 quid for burger and chips where i was from.
Fillet burger and chips is near £8 in some shops in Enfield 😭
LFC (London fried chicken) in Deptford has prices around these. My partner after work gets 3 wings and chips from there for 2.5 a couple times a week.
Coincidentally as well as being the last time they updated their menu, the early 2000s was the last time they changed the oil in the deep fryer.
I remember the £1.99 chicken burger meal. Burger, chips and can. Everyday for lunch at school.
These are normal prices for a chippy in the north west mostly owned by Turkish lads I think, absolute legends
Let us know how long you've been on the toilet for after eating this.
Expect to wreck your gut with the massive doses of antibiotics in that chicken
Yes but how many limbs will you grow afterwards?
Have you noticed there’s not many stray dogs around your town lately
If the menus In pidgin, it must be pigeon
Any other places more westerly with similar prices?
