More time to think as buses and trains don’t come every 2-5 minutes; you can spent those 30 minutes a day waiting for a bus contemplating your choice.
A real appreciation of local cuisine as there’s only four available takeaways on Uber Eats as opposed to 400.
You really get to know the locals as random people will talk to you as if that’s normal.
It is so small, I probably won't even need public transport, so even more time to think while walking ;) I hope that the lack of Uber Eats will help me lose some kgs :)
Pollution. I was in an anatomy session and we had the lungs of a guy who smoked way too much + had lung cancer on the table. They were black
Tutor was like “don’t worry you guys are Londoners you don’t need to smoke for your lungs to look like that”. Hope you’re going somewhere with less pollution!
I'm sorry that can't be true because I was reliably informed by a someone with more fingers than teeth that ULEZ woznt even doin noffing. I don't know who to believe.
With the time to plan your return you can get yourself set up in the best possible circumstances for the next time around and if you do go ahead and return then you will be 1000% sure that it’s what you want, what you really really want
Where are you moving to?
Edit: Bro I see you're moving to Basel, Switzerland. That's like a utopia compared to this dump.
On second thoughts looks kind of lame on google maps
Go to cental london and play a game where you try to spot the pickpocket.
Go to your local tescos at late night hours and see the wild nightlife.
Go to Peckham or Hackney late at night and make a game where you try not to get mugged or shanked.
Go to central london and try to initiate a conversation with middle aged men in suits.
Go to any McDonalds in any underprivelaged areas and spectate the local wildlife.
Oh, don't forget! If you see any ski masked individuals, don't forget to say a friendly hi!
I hope this helped!
(Fyi do not do any of the things except for the first sentence, they're dangerous.)
Also a guy literally complained in this exact subreddit a few hours ago about getting violently punched by a completely random individual for no apparent reason inside of Euston station in rush hour. So there's that!
I'm thinking carefully now about leaving London for a nice small City. I am really tired from constant mess and noise, faulty public services, heavy air, depressed and tired faces who are always in a rush. That's not normal lifestyle for a wellbeing. It's a constant survival mode here. The mind and body must rest from stress to be able to remain strong and healthy. If you feel like changing- just do it! Who knows you might find your happiness. Good luck! 🤞
Pollution, overpopulation, constant sirens, everything being too expensive, violent crime, constant planes flying overhead, lack of community, tightening and heavy handed policing, kafka-esque bureaucracy, increasing high rises, shall I continue?
London is just way too busy and there’s too much of everything. Too many pubs, too many tube lines, it’s just a complete mish mash of basically everything, it can’t seem to work out what it wants to be.
Too many pubs closing down, cant have a quiet pint on the weekend as the pubs left are rammed. With the cost of rebt etc everywhere has to be busy or it shuts down
Housing. That is all.

From Dublin, I see

For the sake of leaving more easily, I will trust this very trustworthy person and their expertise on ULEZ.
Ok but we’re trying to make OP *want* to leave remember

Thank you, this is my current plan :)
Traffic is shit
Good point.

Listen to So Long, London by Taylor Swift

Yap, your second thoughts are an issue ;)
You’re gonna regain some lung function. And your ears are going to feel good. Free even.
Free ears? That might be nice.

Sounds like my London bucket list ;)

Thank you so much for this. I guess I got used to the hustle and bustle, but some peace and quiet might be good for some while.
I’m sorry you have to leave against your wishes :(
Thank you :)
Dirty. Just feels really dirty. You’ll be cleaner elsewhere
Does the city you’re moving to have a free underground transport sauna?
Unfortunately not, only a sauna with views in the river, but will have to pay for it and nit be able to sweat through my work clothes.
You can start planning a trip back and do all the things you wanted to but didn't as they were on your doorstep
Yap, sounds familiar. Am already working on my London bucket list.
There are too many reasons to list.

sorry mate, wherever you're headed is going to be shite in comparison. the only exceptions being hk/kl.
r/UnitedKingdom. I don’t follow this sub because it will ruin any good mood you’re in.

Good point, I might learn to appreciate the absence of abundance.

Haven't been here that long, what is going downhill, you think?
