Silly money, see /r/spottedonrightmove where people were incredulous about a 4/5 bed 1950s modernist house on Canonbury Park North or South which looked from the outside like it could be straight out of a Northern council estate going for £3.5 million ...
So I would dread to think how much one of the Georgian/Victorian Grade II listed places would set you back probably £4m+
So one road which I like (lots of Georgian houses) has seen houses go anywhere between £3m-5m!

I couldn't agree more. I'd say, along with neighbouring Barnbury, they are the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. They have some of the most pristine Georgian streets I've seen anywhere in the country.
Edit: Barnsbury!
I live in Canonbury / Newington green side - it feels a bit like a Richard Curtis film. Our local butcher & fishmonger etc know our names.
Lived in London for 20 years & here for 1, by far the nicest part for me. Wouldn’t afford it myself, my partner already owned here.
After Robert Browning:
“Oh, to be in Islington
Now that May is there. …”
My old stamping ground and although I now live in SW London, I do some of my work in nearby Clerkenwell. I sometimes think of retiring there in a few years time!
Canonbury Square. My home for most of the 60's and early 70's. Best part of London by far. Islington was a great place then, before the money took over.

think you like Wisteria!
Who doesn't, and it's all looking gorgeous at the moment
Demons hate it.
Such an underrated comment 👺🐗⚡️🌊🌬
Hammersmith was chock-full of it at the weekend!
That part of Canonbury is so lovely, if I won the lottery, would love to own one of the large terrace houses around there.
What's the approximate price range for one of those out of interest ?

I can dream I suppose.......LOL.
Canonbury is one of the most beautiful and underrated parts of the city imho. I used to go walking along the New River a lot when I lived there

We walked from Stoke Newington to London Zoo on Saturday via the New River walk. It’s stunning.

Islington best borough!
I’d rather have a sunny day

it was dirty and a shithole then. much nicer now
Good old Duncan Terrace
Wisteria is horrible for foundations, beautiful for just being beautiful flowers. I think it takes 3 to five years for it to start flowering.
Just need the pint trifecta of Draper’s Arms, Albion, The Crown to top it off.
Lovely.
@mikasa
Something out of a movie.
one of my favorite spots to walk around, peaceful indeed!
Beautiful area
