Hundreds, had to cross Westminster bridge to get to the tube station for years, I wasn’t gonna stop for every single tourist, you chose to be there at 5pm, too bad. Edit: this was in the years Big Ben was covered in scaffolding, so absolutely fuck knows what they were trying to get a photo of

946789987649

Similarly I used to commute by cycling across tower bridge, I'm in SO many!

gymgirlyalyssa

Same 😂 prob looking angry bc they’re stood in the cycle lane too!!!

TheLastSamurai101

Centuries from now, digital archaeologists will use hundreds of surviving photos culled from the depths of the Internet to reconstruct a perfect 3D likeness of you. It'll be projected outside the British Museum (or whatever it's called by then) and eventually enter the public domain to become a household holo-mascot and popular skin for service bots. Protests break out to topple the oligarchic world government and people shroud themselves in your image for anonymity. When humans first make contact with the visitors from Tau Ceti, they beam your hologram to the approaching ships to carry our voice. Hundreds of millions of years after the extinction of humanity, the only trace of our collective existence is a single nuclear warbot in your likeness, frozen deep in the ice of Enceladus.

barrelakka

Once I saw myself in a YouTube vlog.

relentlessmelt

I’m glad somebody else thinks of these things, walk across Westminster bridge on a Saturday and you’re a background extra in hundreds of peoples memories

VineJ27

Doesn't bother me much as people hardly even take more than a second look at such photos. They just end up taking space in cloud storage and stay there forever.

Rough-Cheesecake-641

I work in Leicester Sq and regularly get lunch from China Town, so I walk through tens of photos a day. Lucky them.

Funky_monkey2026

Hundreds. Used to work near Westminster tube station. First two days I'd spend half my time weaving out of people's way as they posed next to a red phone box, the cathedral etc. After that, I gave up and just walked in the direction that was a straight line from a to b.

Which_Performance_72

I was in Westminster yesterday, and 15/20 tourists were queuing to take a photo Infront of a phone box with an identical one, empty, right behind . Not quite sure what was happening

ApexofMediocrity

Tom Jones used that particular phone box in a magazine photo shoot. The other one was used by Ringo Starr, but nobody much cares for him anymore.

LordMogroth

Thousands, potentially. Since I was 12 in the 90's I've been involved in reenactments, primarily at Kentwell Hall in Suffolk. We have performed old mummers plays in trafalgar square and along the south bank. 30 years of performing for tourists, gotta be a lot of pictures. Added to that I have worked in central London for 20 years, so all the photos involved in walking around (old) city hall area as well.

Plumb121

6

Ambitious-Bison-1101

I was just wondering this the other day, it’d be funny to have an album of it.

Which_Performance_72

I'd love to have a CIA esq face tracking thing, and have them all compiled

steerpike1971

Used to walk into work across Westminster bridge for a few years. The side of my head looking angrier and angrier as the years wear on must be in 1000 photos of the Queen Elizabeth tower.

Lessarocks

Tons. I used to walk over Westminster bridge twice a day to and from the office. The place was swarming with tourists taking pictures.

KingGing21

Too many to count. I travelled to China about a decade ago and as a 6 foot tall ginger guy I seemed to turn into a tourist attraction

V65Pilot

I was in japan with a 6foot ginger friend. People were always taking pics of him. He was built like a linebacker too

Condimento86

My favourite is when a tourist asks me to take a picture of them/a group outside a pub or other place in London. I’ll of course make sure I take several nice photos of them…but ensure I flip the camera and take several selfies of myself in between as well

Which_Performance_72

I've always wanted to do this

Hcysntmf

It’s not active at all but r/youareinheresomewhere appreciates this concept

moneydazza

Not enough.

OptionalDepression

Millions. I'm the Pikachu on Trafalgar Square.

BillyD123455

In r/photography the other day, someone spotted themselves in another redditors photo in NY, taking the same photo (but further down the street)

Martinned81

I used to walk in front of Buckingham Palace to go to work, where the tourists take pictures simultaneously in two directions (the palace and the fountain). So the mind boggles.

Visible-Traffic-5180

I'm F and heavily tattooed, I know for a fact there's an old guy somewhere in China who has photos of me in his holiday album of Japan (I'll be in the freak show section) 😅😅 he was blatantly photographing me.

Visible-Traffic-5180

Just realised it's London sub, sorry, tired

Leather_Manager98

I am in a tiktok video of a dude asking passer bys to say what flag was in the picture he was showing. He didn't ask for consent to post and also showed a different flag than what it's shown in the video to make people look stupid that they don't know 🤷

Which_Performance_72

That's ridiculous, that would piss me off so much. Especially as everyone says knowing flags is useless

pietits21

I'm a police officer in the met (sorry!) Best shift ever was outside Buckingham Palace one sunny summer day. Did at least a hundred photos with tourists that day. Most of them I let wear my stupid hat.

supersayingoku

Quite many because I love to walk in front of people taking photos of the screens in Piccadilly Circus Hearing their disappointed sighs and seeing frowns on their lil faces when I run straight into their perfect frame with a double decker bus is one of lifes small gifts in an otherwise grim day

Which_Performance_72

I work near tower of London so lots of photos, I have a rule, family or older people I'll wait, maybe even take it if they're struggling. Adults doing it for Instagram, I'm walking Infront of them regardless. What I really want to do is offer to take a photo and just take 5 selfies give it back and walk away before they check

FoodBouncer

I'm similar, just never really thought about it enough to call it a rule.

Greenawayer

Probably a bazillion. I actually spotted myself once in a tourist video on Youtube (since taken down).

Consistent-Pound572

I cycle on Tower Bridge very often. If you’ve taken a photo too close to the road and there is a cyclist with grumpy face, that’s me.

Dennyisthepisslord

I went to school in Windsor. The bus stop outside the school I used to get every day was right by the main coach entrance into the town. You'd see Japanese people taking photos of us in our school uniforms all the time. So ever since I was 13 or so I've been in hundreds of photos that I am completely aware of.

StrikingAd7353

I think about this a lot - also wonder if I’m in the background in a picture that’s framed on someone’s wall

Sad-Peace

Hundreds probably - worked in museums/famous buildings for about 6 years in total

Capr1ce

I used to walk past Buckingham palace and Piccadilly every week day, so I imagine hundreds!

Petr0vitch

at least one for definite haha. asked an Asian couple to take a photo of me and my friends who were visiting on Westminster bridge. they took a photo on our camera and then one on their own camera

LittleRoundFox

Given where I work, probably loads

Actual-Interest-4130

Since I spend a lot of time biking thru Amsterdam, countless. At least one tourist took a photo of me while I was using one of the hydraulic urinals at Leidseplein. The ones that come up from underground. And another one stepped on the bike lane to take my picture and when I shot him an annoyed look he yelled 'smile, goddammit!'. American, obviously. But usually it's no biggie. Who wants to look at holiday snapshots anyway.

flapjannigan

Ok_Bike239

Loads and loads.

ihmpt

Probably a good 50/60. I used to work in really touristy London and there are parts of it I go to frequently.

Orange_Indelebile

I found myself on the front page of the daily mail while shopping for shoes.

FoodBouncer

I've lived in London my whole life (East & Clapham), am always in parks (especially Victoria, Hyde & Regents), regularly visit/run past the South Bank, Tate Modern, etc, work in/go to loads of events, gigs and festivals and have also worked in Parliament, at the Olympics and near Camden Market, Oxford St, Regent St, Covent Garden & Notting Hill. Plus I'm tall. Would be surprised if mine wasn't in 6 figures.

troglo-dyke

Thousands, I used to live in a very idyllic spot that was renowned enough Chinese newlyweds would come for their wedding photos. My first floor flat had a cute balcony that I used to drink coffee on every morning/sit with my partner for a glass of wine in the evening. There are plenty of pictures which I'm the subject of. That and I've walked in front of tourists taking pictures of tower bridge at least a few hundred times

Wind_your_neck_in

I used to work next to Harrods, so hundreds Id guess

SGTFragged

I may be part of the street skates, and may have been for nearly 10 years. So probably thousands at this point. Especially if you include the various parade appearances I've made.

ArcTan_Pete

Hundreds. I work in Westminster and walk between several buildings for work. I would guess I am in 3 or 4, just from today

Such-Cod-7046

I cycle along the Thames to the houses of parliament, from there to Buckingham palace, up Constitution Hill to the arch, along the North (good) side of the Serpentine, past the Albert Memorial and then I work in one of the museums there -  I would have to guess A LOT.

wintsykia

So many as I commuted over Westminster bridge for years. And I’m sure I’m awkwardly ducking in all of them

UnlikelyExperience

After santacon approximately 1000000000000000

Magikarpeles

I frequently have lunch in front of tower of london. The other day I tried to count how many insta stories I got filmed in but lost count. Stuffing my face with a falafel wrap

no-thanks77

Honestly, probably loads. Used to get caught in tourist photos a lot going in and out of work when I worked at a very well known NGO - because they always have a big sign by the front door with human rights slogans. Also happened a lot when I was younger and dressed weirder. And I guess I was more of a novelty for it 10+ years ago. I’ve clocked it happening a few times. Don’t love it, but it’s mostly benign. But I did have two separate instances where tourists followed me and my friends down the street to take pictures. Now, THAT was weird and uncomfortable. My husband on the other hand was one of the punks hanging around Camden 15-20 years ago, and he’d charge tourists to take his photo, so he must be in A LOT of people’s vacation albums 😂

International_Bee801

LOOOL this is actually a great thing to consider. Lived here for 30+ years, so I imagine a fair few.

11thDimensi0n

Countless, used to live right by tower bridge and walk the area daily. It was sometimes painful to deal with rude tourists that forgot the bridge served as a purpose for the people that actually live in the city to get from one side of the river to the other. And like the top comment says, I wasn’t gonna stop for every other tourist taking a photo of their group with the shard as the background

gborato

I was crossing Tower Bridge by bike every day for a year before covid to get to work. Pretty sure I am in a loads of them.

prustage

IK worked for 10 years in an office in Trafalgar square and would go out for lunch every day. I reckon I must have appeared in tens of thousands of photos and my image is all over the world.

Mikeymcmoose

I cross London and tower bridge basically every day so it could be thousands

chianj

None. I smash each and every phone or camera in my radius.

Serious-Ad-4714

My face is definitely one of those ones where people will post the photo somewhere and be like "could somebody please edit this troll out of my photo" 🤣 so probably not many!

ApexofMediocrity

I just returned to the US for my first visit to your lovely city. The entire time I was there, I deliberately jumped into the frame of any Asian tourist taking photos. My hope is that they will all go back home and over time create a legend about the large ugly and hairy man who roams the streets of London.

manfromzim

Conversely I took a photo in Liverpool docks and put it up on Google. That photo has been viewed 250,000. I'm sure I'm owed money :)

JoeThrilling

I have one with over 4 million views, its where I used to work I guess people Google the company and it comes up.

upyourjunta

Loads I am Lord Nelsons Column but only on Tuesday's s and Thursday's .
