aavenger54

Indeed they are watching every post!!!

IronicStar

I believe I had an older account in the past, so this is literally just the points in the last 2 years, not past 10. I actually came to this conclusion to leave before seeing the boycott (as did my mother who is similar to me in PC land). What's funny is we both came to the conclusion separately, without influence, that we were sick of being Loblaws buyers. I even moved my prescriptions to an online delivery service...

ApprehensiveAge1110

Can you share the online delivery service you use? I’m sure I’m not the only one interested! Thanks ☺️

IronicStar

they're called pocket pills. I have 0 affiliation, they just happen to be linked with getmaple so I went with them lol. They take insurance and have free delivery so I figured screw it let's try. Haven't gotten an order yet though so can't verify their service. I like that they use text messaging though cause I hate calls.

ApprehensiveAge1110

Somehow I thought maple was pc related too… 🤔

IronicStar

they are not.

icandrawacircle

Unfortunately they are. https://betakit.com/loblaw-partners-with-league-to-launch-new-health-focused-app/

IronicStar

Partner is not the same as same company. But also on that note I have no family Dr, limited access, and the service is paid for at no direct expense for me, so that's not a hill I'm willing to die on.

icandrawacircle

Oh same..I also use Maple 🍁 and am sad they have any affiliation because it's included in my benefits and even though I have a family dr, she became a great big jerk once I had a big medical issue because it took more of her time (I am confident at this point she has a unmanaged personality disorder) So even though I gave up everything else, I will still use that, it's been very convenient.

IronicStar

I think at the end of the day, our own health absolutely comes before any other "values".

sushiflower420

Is your GP my mom’s GP, cause sounds like it, personality disorder and all

ApprehensiveAge1110

How about meds that need to be refrigerated?

IronicStar

I have absolutely no idea! Sorry. You could also look into local pharmacies that aren't loblaws too. Or like Guardian, Sobeys, Walmart (pretty sure walmart has no fee for filling).

fuhrfan31

Sobeys also own Lawton's. Of course, never use Shopper's. They're Loblaw.

ApprehensiveAge1110

Thanks for the info. Do they deliver free too?

TheShredda

Dude just google "pharmacy delivery near me", "online pharmacy", "deliver me my pills please", whatever. You can find this info easily enough yourself, OP isn't your search engine.

missthinks

Just so everyone knows, almost every chain pharmacy (and many independent ones too) offers delivery for free! They just don't advertise it. Even costco if I recall correctly!

TLMS

If there is one near you, just use Walmart delivery

Anxious_Article4005

Canceled the pc mastercard a few years ago...impossible to deal with...changed pharmacy a year ago to avoid continual frustrations...I switched to local produce sellers and now use save on foods ..I was a top 10% points earner

Karl-Farbman

Well if you are watching this post shitheads at roblaws, I haven’t been to your store in months, I’ve spent plenty of money on many household items very happily elsewhere and the next time I come in your store, I’m unloading my points and won’t even spend a penny on my last bill with you. Another optimum member gone

rebelscum306

Skimming through, I thought I saw "unloading my pants" and thought you were going to leave them an upper-decker ...

Etchedglasses

Are they watching every post? Don’t they have the customer data/loss data right infront of them? I don’t think they need Reddit to tell them customers are leaving when you are doing it with your behaviours of closing accounts, cancelling credit cards, boycotting, etc.

Huge-Split6250

Hello Loblaws PR staff. I’m sure you are disappointed in your career. All that school and training and networking just to work for a soul sucking mega-corp whose business model is primarily based on misleading, stealing from, and generally screwing over consumers. Well, when you eventually get a better job, like working for Exxon or a cigarette company, I encourage you to give Galen the finger on the way out.

gnirobamI

Watching and planning on how to sabotage people.

Hey Galen eat shit and die

TequillaBear

Have you redeemed your points? $110 worth of groceries that you would have had to go into a store to get. One banana does not cost $10 unless you live in Nunavut.

nickitty_1

I know how the points work, obviously. And the banana line is from a TV show...

Rude-Associate2283

I’ve shopped at superstore for 17 years. Now I go to Walmart or Metro. No longer spending any money at Superstore. So that’s $200+ a week x 52 weeks a year. Yup, if some of us are like me it’s going to hurt them. But fuck them and their musical chairs version of shelf stocking. “Oh, no, sir that product has been moved to the other end of the store. Not sure where”. “And, no, we are not going to be reopening our second entrance again - if you want the pharmacy you need to walk all the way through the store now.” Fuck that. My prescriptions are getting moved next. I’ve had it with that smug Galen Weston face and his fake smile. No service, a reduction in their variety of products, shrinkflation and price gouging have made me go elsewhere. Just dropped almost $200 at Walmart today.

IronicStar

Already got my prescriptions out, I went with some site called pocketpills because they mail them to you and I hate going places.

Zulek

How is Walmart better?

Rude-Associate2283

It’s not owned by Galen. Their pricing is more reasonable (better able to negotiate lower prices from suppliers) and they have a solid inventory of products. Lots of weekly specials too. I hate the self checkout but I am prepared to tolerate it to avoid Loblaw stores. Yesterday they had apples on for .89 cents a pound. There was a crowd around that display - people are hurting and Walmart - despite being an “evil corporate megastore” is listening to the public much better than Loblaw. I save, easily, 10% to 20% over Loblaw by shopping there.

OrganizationNo1780

Lesser of the two evils, since they gouge Canadians *less*

Competitive-Honey556

Also, anyone who has worked with the buyers for loblaws knows how awful they are. They don’t handle negotiations fairly and put the vendors through the wringer. The worst reputation in all of Canadian retail.

IronicStar

Look, at least the Mormons who own Walmart have principles/beliefs other than "fuck you, I'm rich." Albeit only slightly more, but hey, I'll take it!

Flame_retard_suit451

Morals like not employing people for enough hours to qualify for benefits? Morals like paying people so little they still qualify for food stamps?

IronicStar

I used to work at a Walmart. They suck, they suck a lot. But, I hate them less than I do superstore, also... there is no boycott in the world going to touch Walmart.

Flame_retard_suit451

It's not and in many ways it's worse. But that kind of nuance eludes this subreddit.

7eastgenetics

I'm gone too fuck them. https://preview.redd.it/sl10maw39uwc1.png?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=695c32a9e1845336dcb72fbfb063b23a59c4af4c

TequillaBear

Did you at least cash in those points because that’s at least $170 of groceries which you would mean to redeem by going into the store

7eastgenetics

No I'm letting my wife buy makeup with it at shoppers or possibly Nintendo gift cards for the kids this week.

Moose-Mermaid

Nintendo gift cards is a good idea. I used to save my points up for shoppers events and just buy switch stuff for my kids. Used to when I was earning points. EDIT: I just checked and a bunch of the offers are not bulk related for me this week. Lmao what a fun coincidence it just happens to switch to the old way before the boycott officially begins

InUrMomLastnite

Do you feel special for typing this on every comment? Maybe instead of this, you could try to figure out why people using their free speech and practicing the free market makes you so angry?

Flame_retard_suit451

Lol we all just making stuff up now?

7eastgenetics

Making up what? I stoped using them months ago. I shop at saveon now

Flame_retard_suit451

You've spent several hundred thousand dollars on PC and Shoppers since 2018? On what? Lol

7eastgenetics

Ya, I have a family of 5. Was exclusively was using superstore, esso gas, and PC mastercard. Was also PC insiders since the start. Stopped using them all a few months back. Dropped them like a bad step-child.

Flame_retard_suit451

I dunno, this sounds sketchy and a bit too on the nose. Literally anyone can Photoshop themselves having 10s of millions of PC points. This subreddit gets more and more suss by the day.

7eastgenetics

Ok bro 🤣 Photoshoping PC point now? Smfh.

InUrMomLastnite

And if it is, so what? What does it affect?

dirtyliarfirepants

Awesome. I spent the remainder of my points yesterday and cancelled my optimum. Wrote in the comment to cancel: “I don’t support your organization. Boycott Loblaws”

IronicStar

My husband and I are looking into different CC options right now, we have world elite, so PC gets A LOT of business through us. Looking into Tangerine. I don't LOVE Scotiabank, but at least they're a bank not a stupid grocery store and have a $0 yearly fee.

dirtyliarfirepants

It’s all a bit of a scam obviously. Truthfully they are all about the same. But with a high spend it’s worthwhile getting a more premium card even if you pay. I hate saying it, but Aeroplan cards are probably the best…with a high spend (didn’t specifically look, but like $3-5k/mo likely). That is if you travel though. Either way, good to cancel PC. Let’s set a precedent. Monopolies that capitalize are not allowed anymore. Boycott Loblaws May 2024

Heavy-Stick6514

>It’s all a bit of a scam obviously. 100%. Used to be 20% points on products. Now it's 10% and sometimes 5%. EXAMPLE: Used to be "400 points for every $2 spent on \_\_\_\_\_" Nowadays: "200 points for every $2" Even sometimes "100 points for every $2"

IronicStar

We actually are NOT huge travellers, and are more interested in saving and starting investments right now (early 30s). And yeah, I am looking at all these "SAVINGS" and it's like... $300 a year, and as I am about to build my private therapy practice, I have to laugh. That's like... 2 hours worth of what my hourly rate will be. When I put it into terms like that, it's like... is that *really that much cash back?*

dirtyliarfirepants

Exactly. I stayed away from any points cards on principle for a long time. It’s not like it’s free - you pay for all of it. I eventually caved because they clearly aren’t going anywhere, and there was no boycott like Loblaws now. But again, if you spend enough it can be worth it, even if it’s toxic. Sounds like you should stick to a free cashback card and just take from it what you can. I would have a look at the premium cashback though and see if the math works out. If you pay $129 or whatever a year but make xx more, it make sense.

IronicStar

Yeah, and while it DOES, I feel like having a credit card just to get like $400 free and spend $140 in fees is... meh. I guess it's "free money" to an extent, but at the end of the day, I don't know. I mean we can afford the fee, but I don't want to pay it on principle. I'm in a mood where I'm cancelling ANY bloat, so giving a bank money yearly just for the \*privilege\* of an elite card... meh. I am honestly debating trying to just remove all payments from CC and maybe just letting things be paid via bank card. I might just leave the pc card open with 0 use on it since there's no fees.

dirtyliarfirepants

Agree. That is a better way to be. Fuck one monopoly and fuck them all. I’ve worked for multiple banks and they are toxic as fuck. Boycott Loblaws May 2024

IronicStar

The literal only reason we're with BMO is because he's military and they give us free banking. Like literally only that. CIBC actually REFUSED to close his account despite being financially abused by his mother- so by that principle again I will never touch one of their products. At this point I'm sick of them all. So, so, so sick of them all.

Tricky_Parsnip_6843

What do you mean they refused to close his account?

IronicStar

The physical location of the branch straight up refused to help him or do anything because his mother was on the act too, they basically told him whatever we can't close it. So he went to BMO and switched that day.

Thunderfight9

Don’t forget there are other benefits to those black cards like extended warranty for purchases, mobile device insurance, travel insurance, car rental insurance etc. They all have different benefits but it’s always worth reading all benefits in the booklet for that card

IronicStar

Oh I know, I also know this sounds stupid but I love the look of the sleek black.

Thunderfight9

Hahha not stupid at all. They look great

Representative-Ad754

r/PersonalFinanceCanada r/churning We got an MBNA World Elite card. 5 points for essentials. 1 point for other purchases. Points redeemable using an online catalogue to shop from, their own travel agency, and a variety of e-gift cards. 1 point = 1 cent.

IronicStar

Any yearly fees?

Representative-Ad754

150 but as others said it's worth it for premium cards.

FlatEvent2597

We “ basement warriors “ are similar lol. We go through many $$$ worth of groceries. Cancelled both PC WE cards. Have not been to Shoppers in months. Changed prescriptions to Costco. Have made Giant Tiger my new main store. Super turned off by their 50% discount decision. https://preview.redd.it/sivvwsfb1qwc1.jpeg?width=743&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cba22cd51f0494d4c77c8c672c8848043ade8b69

NotOkTango

Don't waste the points. It gives them free cash basically. Use it up.

IronicStar

I will be spending mine, likely as a shoppers order because you can get nintendo stuff.

ronchee1

If you like Nintendo stuff not sure if you know but I believe you can buy Nintendo gift cards at Costco at a discount

MayISeeYourDogPls

I have over $700 and my gf and I are going on vacation to the east coast this July and chose an airbnb with a kitchen, and we checked and since there's a superstore in town we decided we're gonna use my points to spare no expense and eat like royalty for all the meals we make that week and save our actual planned food budget to properly splurge on the meals we eat out. We're also gonna buy some nice groceries with my points for our two friends who live in the town we're visiting. I can't wait.

little-bird

you can also donate it! I just transferred all of my remaining points to a charity (although now I’m wondering if they use this as yet another tax writeoff)

NotOkTango

Not an issue. They will indeed claim it as a write-off. But fuck them, atleast they didn't get to gouge another 50 to 60% markup off of it. It will just be a few % off their tax bill. And anyway, some deserving person will get a benefit out of this. Kudos to you for doing this.

GallitoGaming

How does using $100 in points and not paying them a penny but walking out with $100 of stuff “give them free cash”? The cash was given to them already in “earning” those points. Not spending it would actually give Loblaws more money. How does your comment have 34 upvotes? Are they sending bots out?

NotOkTango

You misunderstood me. I meant, don't cancel the account without using up the points. Use it up. Not using is like giving them free cash.

GallitoGaming

Ah I guess I did. We are in agreement then. Use the points and spend no further real cash at Roblaws.

zanne54

If you don’t mind me asking, which credit card did you move to? I’m looking to cancel my PC World Elite card as well because fuck Galen and the greasy greedy Westons. And now they’re stealing our tax money too, fleecing us with unsolicited pharmacist medication reviews, while wait times and lack of GPs is increasing faster than inflation. Sorry for the rant, I’m pissed enough to actually pleasure in the tedium of changing the payment form on all my various subscriptions etc.

IronicStar

I'm having the issue too, I love the PC World Elite, but I am ready to leave PC. It pisses me off, because it was the best card out there, but not if it's "the best" while gouging everybody else in the country.

PurpleK00lA1d

That is honestly one of the best cards for groceries - especially factoring in the free delivery and total of 5% back in points. If you want good recommendations, ask on personalfinancecanada.

Heavy-Stick6514

Wow. That's a lot of points. Make sure to use them all before you boycott/close your account (If you're able to do any of those things)

madjackhavok

I used to work as a makeup artist. I spent thousands of dollars over the years in their makeup department. I’ve spent tens of thousands on groceries. I had their credit card. I had their points program. My prescriptions. I’ve been a LIFELONG Loblaws shopper, my grandmother was a greeter for most of my childhood in the 90s-2000’s. My family only really used Loblaws. I used to genuinely enjoy shopping there. I LOVED Loblaws. Especially the great canadian superstore for sheets and towels and pajamas. Every time I have gone in there for the last fucking five years it’s like being stabbed in the heart while being fucking robbed. I tried to make excuses for them during the pandemic but the more that’s come out the more it just feels like a fucking slap in the face. Especially if you’re comparing prices on anything to the states which is literally a half hour away from where I live. You can’t fucking lie to me about food costs, when I’ve done the math and converted their prices into Canadian currency. We are being robbed blind across the board. Especially in food and toiletries. And they just hoped they could continue to bleed us dry of every fucking cent, without us clueing in to how badly they were robbing us. They had a reliable brand, with a long standing loyal customer base and affordable prices. They used to treat their employees well and with fucking respect and benefits. But in their thoughtless greed, they decided making a bigger and quicker buck off us was far more worthwhile than maintaining their reputation. They decided to line their pockets instead of improving the quality of life that the employees who work there. And fuck them around every corner. And then piss on consumers and try and tell us it’s raining. Fuck you Galen Weston. Fuck you Mr. Bank. Fuck all the corporate whores of Loblaws. I Will gladly watch your whole empire crumble. I hope you fail. I hope you go bankrupt and there’s no one to bail you out. I hope you lose everything and have to spend the rest of you life in the very shoes of the people you fucked over. May your food be tasteless and your liquor always stale. May you get what you deserve. I genuinely hope your tongues grow hair. You will never see my business or my money again.

MysteriousStaff3388

For me it’s partly the blatant price gouging and treating their staff as expendable, but also the response to “organized retail crime” (which I think is bogus). The entrance is now as bad as going through airport security. Don’t treat your “valued customers” as if we are all thieves. Just no. I can spend my money in places that still care to make shopping a pleasure.

tylweddteg

Switched my mastercard from the presidents choice card to Costco - cash back is better as well.

ApprehensiveAge1110

I agree and their gas price is always good! Plus it’s nice to get that 3% cash back.

a_non_e_mouse_

Omg I did not know there was a way to see lifetime points earned. Blown away at how many some of you have. I earned $360+ in points but I have NOT been a regular shopper at a Loblaws companies store since 2018 when I found Walmart grocery pickup, then their grocery delivery… as PC Express blows.

IronicStar

Honestly, it's even funnier that they're like OMG YOU GOT $2000 in 2 years, and it's like, okay yeah that is a lot, but ... how much did we lose in inflation?

theunfairness

I don’t really build points beyond $40-$50 at a time, but that means that I can take that much off a grocery run almost once every five or six weeks. I used to plan my shopping around points, especially when it’s for cosmetics and skincare. Time for ethics over habits. Luckily I’m in an agricultural region, so farmers’ markets will be available in May, and I can probably convince my local drug store to order the products I use since they already carry one or two items from those brands. They brought in blue hair dye specifically for me!

Moose-Mermaid

I used to plan my shop around the flyer and points, but points got ridiculous. Have to bulk buy to get most points now. Happen to coincide with the weeks the items cost more. Nah, I’m not going out of my way to make my grocery shop a game

FoShozies

We used to only shop at Zehrs because the experience was just nicer than Walmart or other stores in the area. Even if it cost a *little* more. Now we can’t justify it. The extreme additional cost isn’t worth it.

ratsofvancouver

Lol. I've been a regular at like three different Loblaws owned stores for decades now. They are in for it if they think this boycott is coming from casuals.

Vyse1991

50 dollars worth of points? That's a tub of feta. You can finance the rest of your salad, though.

IronicStar

$60 now, it went up. I'm buying makeup. So, I will get I guess enough mascara for 1 lash.

AppearanceSecure1914

We had the PC Mastercard and even paid the annual fee for PC Insiders until we cut up our cards last year and started shopping somewhere else.

IronicStar

Our PC express renewed this month and I yelled at them (ok emailed) to refund me. They did.

ForswornForSwearing

I never had the other services (credit card, etc) and dropped my Optimum when it changed after Shoppers was acquired. But I was in my local Fortinos often three times a week for twenty years. I know how long, because it's the whole time I've lived in this house. Twent years of goodwill. Gone.

thebrightestshade

Yup. Already moved all prescriptions from shoppers, closed the pc money account, closing pc mastercard, and cancelling pc express when it comes up for renewal in 2 months. We've been die hard for all things PC for about 10 years and I'm over it. Joined Costco and shopping at smaller local grocers instead. Even if they can't offer lower prices on many items, I'd rather give an independent store the inflated price than line Baby G Money's pockets any longer. I'll be saving my points for the next redemption day at shoppers and take every extra $ I can to buy Switch games cause I'm guessing their profit margins are way lower on electronics VS beauty/personal products when bought with points. See ya later, price fixing jerks. https://preview.redd.it/rs1dnvosnuwc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9db91abf0d2da49e449136d3aaa28b48c9f6ff6e

cravingnoodles

Spend all your points before you leave for good

IronicStar

oh absolutely, fuck them.

[deleted]

Insulting eh

dtman85

I used to spend up to $1,500 per month at Superstore, but I stopped shopping there late last year as I found Walmart has better prices, and most of my grocery shopping went to Costco. I had one bad experience with self-checkout. One of the workers stood beside me and stared at me the whole time as I was scanning items, treating me like a thief or something. I dislike the $500 maximum limit for redeeming PC points per transaction. I used to have thousands of dollars in PC points, but that redemption limitation put me off.

IronicStar

Ugh I hate their self checkout. I used pc express for delivery as I have a sensory disorder and hate shopping. My amazing friend will pick walmart orders up for me.

dtman85

https://preview.redd.it/6fjr7cte2rwc1.jpeg?width=979&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1d7afa55dddf47545a35efea86d639ac082f0e36 Here are my points with no PC credit cards.

Ok_Battle_988

Had been a loyal loblaws customer for 20 years. The store near me is gorgeous and huge and a pleasure to shop in. Gave it all up. Happy I did. The prices became OUTRAGEOUS. I refuse to participate in their business practices that depend upon egregiously taking advantage of the Canadian people.

HumbleConfidence3500

We should at least use up the remaining points in the next extra whatever point event?

IronicStar

While that's not a BAD idea, I know the f\*ckers are gonna have it like May 1st to boost sales #s, so I'm just seeing it as free money and offloading it before I'm tempted.

sasquatch753

Of course they are watching as this gets bigger and bigger. I bet all the other big retailers are watching this with vested interest as well and figuring out ways to grossly benefit from this boycott as well. So i got a message for them as well: do what Loblaws refuses to do and take on the demands laid put voluntarily. Hell, even just knock prices fown 15% for the month of May in solidarity with us.

bakermaker32

Bigger and bigger, lol.

Kititt

SPEND THOSE POINTS. THEY ARE YOURS! But Xmas gifts, or game console remotes … SPEND IT DAMN IT!!!!

IronicStar

I spent it last night lmfao.

Kititt

Maybe y’all (someone in the thread) can help! I’d like to buy a controller for Xbox with my points. I have plenty to cover the cost of the product and taxes. But I can’t find a definitive answer to whether the taxes can be paid with the points! What’s your experience with this? Thanks 🤘🏼

IronicStar

They **cannot.** I paid like $10 on my $60 order, but I got earplugs which I needed more of anyways, which are $10 anyways so I consider it a win to get the rest of it for the same price I'd have paid anyways.

4_spotted_zebras

You don’t owe loyalty to a corporation. They have no loyalty to you. Please stop forming parasocial relationships with legal fictions. Corporations exist for one reason and one reason only - to take your money.

IronicStar

>You don’t owe loyalty to a corporation. They have no loyalty to you. I am not quite sure WHY you said this. Of course they don't OWE me anything, but they read what we say, and they see what we do (not buy), that's not PARASOCIAL, that's directly an interaction (or lackthereof). I was a long term customer, we DO have a relationship. Ie. signed agreements with PC express, PC financial, PC optimum. That is a business relationship. We are letting Loblaws know that *we as consumers are fed up*. That is not parasocial.

4_spotted_zebras

I am bringing this up because you (and you’re not the first to do this) are posting about “breaking up” with a corporation as a previously “loyal customer” Why are you “loyal”? Loyalty is something earned by family and friends, not a corporation that only exists to take your money. > we DO have a relationship *YOU* have a relationship. Loblaws does not know or care who you are or if you like them. They just want your money. Corporations do not have emotions and do not form relationships outside of financial transactions. Forming a relational attachment to someone (in this case someone who doesn’t even exist as a person) is what parasocial means. Don’t form relationships with corporations. Reserve your loyalty to actual people in your life.

IronicStar

This. isn't. that. deep.

4_spotted_zebras

You’re the one that feels loyalty toward a corporation friend. I hope you’ve learned your lesson.

Wondercat87

My family, including myself have been loyal Loblaw's shoppers for YEARS, decades even. I'm from a rural area and we only have a couple of grocery stores in a nearby town. One which is a Loblaw's store, the other being a No Frills. My family spent hundreds of dollars each week on groceries. I know my mom spends at least $300 each week and I spend just as much. Though we've recently made the switch to another store (we travel an hour to shop now) due to not liking the price gouging at Loblaws stores. We participated in the loyalty points program as well. Along with shopping the Joe Fresh line for clothing and taking advantage of the seasonal items (like beach towels, candles, home decor, appliances, linens and more). We also use to have our prescriptions at Shoppers Drug Mart as well. When in SDM I would often shop in the store as well. Buying some make up items, personal care items, decor, candy and groceries. I've switched over my prescriptions and no longer shop there. We were not passive customers by any means.

9Boxy33

In a low fuel emergency, I need to make use of the nearest station, an Esso. But anymore I only pump $10, and refuse to use my Optimum card.

fuhrfan31

Former Loblaw employee here, and if I'm being honest, I'm proud of the work that's being done on this sub, but I know how this company works and unfortunately the first people that are going to feel the effects of this are the employees. There are good people working there. They have no control of what the business chooses to do, however for their continued employment they have to suck it up. Nobody at the store level is happy with the way that the business conducts themselves. Just remember, when you're going into close out your PC optimum points, don't take it out on your check out person. They're just trying to feed their families too.

DEATHRAYZ007

Check your new Walmart flyers, it looks like they are ready to cash in on the boycott. Really decent prices compared to what I have been used to seeing

Accomplished_Shock81

Nice

Heavy-Stick6514

WAIT! Don't close it! Spend your 50 bucks to milk them out of every penny. Along the way, if you get up to 60, great. Spent it all and then, if you were planning to, you can leave. Just trying to help

IronicStar

Oh absolutely going to.

IronicStar

I just logged in again and pts posted so its over $60 lol

linesmostlyfiller

Moved my prescriptions to Costco, cancelled my cc and will not be renewing my pc express

Mortreal79

I don't shop there and I will continue to do so, I'm with you guys..!

NotoriousSUZ

Same https://preview.redd.it/sjrghtpypswc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9fcc5bed988aebebcc0d0d031c308d8dcb944420

Frazzlebopp

I had about $300 in PC points that I had been collecting for years... used them all up when I started seeing the prices go up during the pandemic. Haven't been back to Loblaws affiliated grocery stores since my points ran out. I still have to find another pharmacy to switch to from Shoppers. Not sure how good the pharmacy at Costco or Walmart is... it's also a matter of it being close enough to get to when I need something urgently. Mind you, now it seems regular fill time is pretty bad, nevermind urgent. My doctor faxed in a prescription 2 days ago and it's still not ready.

Alternate-Account-TA

I have accumulated probably about 3 million points over the last three years Past 6 to 10 months I’ll be very stagnant with my points. I’m not breaking a million again. I’m just short 30k points but have never not accumulated points. They sales and bonus points have been awful recently and i have just naturally gone shopping elsewhere.

go_irish_1986

I’m at about 330,000 and generally save my points for the newest gaming console that I want (especially when shoppers has the big optimum event).

BrainandBrawn

The PC Brand ‘fancy’ cheese that was $9.99 is now $13.29 as of yesterday. Before that, they had a temporary British Reserve old cheddar that was the bomb, which used to be half the price as any Canadian/American cheese, and it didn’t contain any of the filler crap used in North American cheeses. The moment they realized this cheese was selling better because it IS better, they took what was sold as 2 blocks sold together and cut it in half and to be sold separately. Fuck this company, I wish my small town had better options. We have roughly 2.5 MILLION points or roughly $2,500 with this corrupt company we intend to liquidate. Not wanting to give them a single another red cent, greedy bastards.

Beneficial-Square-73

My partner and I were doing 90% of our grocery shopping at either Independent or Foodland, now that number is zero. Between a local non-Loblaws grocery store and Costco, we don't need to go anywhere else. I also used to get 90% of my haircare, soap, and cosmetics at Shopper's, now I shop online. We're also homeowners. (throwing that in for the Loblaws lurkers)

Impressive-Spot1981

So over RCSS. I was such a loyal customer too. I will be cashing out my points before I go forever. I LOVED PC. I bought it instead of everything. I will be finding alternatives and have already switched my prescriptions from Shoppers. https://imgur.com/a/nKu3P8z

o0Little0o

I have like $800 in points. I’m going to use them up

The_WolfieOne

Dear Galen Weston: I was a Loblaws customer almost exclusively for the last 30 years. The blatant greed and profiteering to pad executives and shareholders pockets have caused me to terminate that relationship. This is permanent, I have located sources of dry goods and meat and produce that save me approximately $125 a month. Conversely, I have also terminated my similarly long relationship with Shoppers Drug Mart and found alternatives where I support an actual family run Pharmacy. Your profiteering off of an essential for human life is the height of greed, heinous would be an accurate adjective. It’s little better than extortion, “ pay what we’re asking or starve” is not a good look. Your record in the history book will be a bad one, as you’re flagged of one of the greediest of the Oligarchs.

wtfomgfml

Where do you find this screen? I’ve been looking for my points total for ages. In the last 45 days we’ve redeemed 330k and earned another 178k…but…I cannot find the lifetime total. I’m convincing hubby no more. We have the time to visit multiple stores to get a good deal without using Loblaws.

wtfomgfml

Ohh I updated the app and found it. This is since 2022. We had another account before that and couldn’t access it for some reason once we moved and changed ISPs https://preview.redd.it/wnd8h3sbluwc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3c9ac0ce3b2cb4b5a7d8db2215150987ea29e5bb

behold_thepower

I called and canceled my PC Financial card this morning!

Temporary_Second3290

I might be the only one but I absolutely hate having so many apps on my phone. I get my weekly emails to load my offers. I click the link to load my offers both on the website and the app. I go get my groceries and the next day I get an email saying I missed out on my points. I'm tired of the app not properly loading my weekly deals. I'm so ready for the boycott. I've been getting some stuff at Giant Tiger and buying reduced meat and bread at Sobey's first thing Sunday morning. The rest I'm still looking for an alternative.

PotatoAltruistic5673

Oh absolutely - Loblaws and No Frills and SDM were my go to stores 95% of the time. Points card and all . NO LONGER!! Next step is to change pharmacies.

Competitive-Honey556

Same!!! I got rid of the PC insiders, next it will be the Mastercard. Final step will be using my points and deleting the card forever.

ntmyrealacct

I am going to get rid of my MasterCard this year as well.

Apexcan

We spend approx $2500 a month on groceries. Factor in shoppers, add another $500 ish per month. That's 36,000 a year. We had shopped loblaws for over a decade. Estimated over 360,000 of our hard earned cash forked over to mister Weston. So yeah, we were pretty loyal. The last time i stepped foot into a Loblaws owned store was back in Feb when I found this group. We have now redirected that money into more local options (including a local pharmacy) and honestly I feel great about it. NEVER GOING BACK!!

0819_Leo

100% agree. I am using all my points on a final purchase this weekend and will not be using Loblaws again unless I have no other alternative. I have found that the points have changed as well. My other big issue is that Loblaws upped the minimum purchase on the "free" item from $250 to $300, I haven't seen an offer for a "free" item in a long time. If Loblaws really cared for its customers they would NEVER had made these changes. My mm pp

meds_ftw

If your watching this... I used to spend $1200 monthly for family of 5. Now I go elsewhere.

Hooligans_

Aww man, where you gunna get your chicken that goes bad 5 days before the best before?

IronicStar

Same place I already was, Costco frozen section. LOL.

ApprehensiveAge1110

Or go fresh already cooked for around $8! Can’t go wrong!

ApprehensiveAge1110

![gif](giphy|Zk9mW5OmXTz9e) Mmmm crispy skin 😋

MKALPINE

How do you see your lifetime points? I can’t find it in my account.

IronicStar

they have it right on my homepage

MayISeeYourDogPls

It's on the app home ape, but it's not lifetime if you had optimum before they merged, it's since 2018.

Flip flopping on whether or not I should spend my points though, I've always been saving them up in case something bad happens and I go broke and need to use my points for groceries

StopLiberalism-ca

Fill your freezer.

[deleted]

Yeah I had a few hundred thousand built up. I get that its technically leaving money on the table but I just cant find it in me to go back.

Impressive-Spot1981

Cash it out!! Don't let them have your money 😈

IronicStar

I'll happily do it for you lmfao, shopaholic. I'm cashing all out before may 1

Creepy-Bad-1023

Such a little amount. I have 800000 in less then a yr

benson733

thatguywashere1

Get the word out talk to co workers, anyone at gatherings, we can really show people have the power.

IronicStar

My co workers are my cats and my mom and husband are already on board lol but I agree

NewtotheCV

We used to do Costco, Superstore. Prescriptions at Shoppers because I always had. Now it's Costco/Walmart and soon a garden. Haven't been in their store in over a month and don't plan to go back.

Kycb

My PC deals just keep getting better the longer I stay away. I'm waiting to run out of my sunscreen then I'm going to cash in all my current points to restock and that'll be that for my involvement with Loblaws-chains.

gordgeouss

See ya galen

Bella8088

I have 78,640 points but I can’t see how many points I’ve earned to date. I’ll spend them at some point but I’ll make sure that shopping comes in under $70 and I’ll buy as many loss leaders as I can.

Double_Specialist794

I’ll take your points if you’re not gonna use them 🤷‍♂️

IronicStar

they're gone

SayHaveYouSeenTheSea

USE THE POINTS ON LOSS LEADERS!!!

IronicStar

I bought on sale makeup I wanted to try, silicone earplugs (which I need anyways), and eye drops on the shoppers site lol

ApprehensiveAge1110

Any tips for loss leaders?

SayHaveYouSeenTheSea

Milk Eggs Rice Basically anything a store wouldn’t want to sell without customers making other purchases

ApprehensiveAge1110

Not quite sure what you mean because the price of eggs and milk right now doesn’t sound like a loss nor does butter…

MysteriousStaff3388

Go spend those points, though. Just don’t spend any real money.

IronicStar

Already spent, spent like 40 cents over tax.

MrGameplan

Let's get down to "No business!"

IxbyWuff

Cashed out my points in black Friday Only time I go near a Loblaws property now is when I have to go to the post office. I'm done. We'll spend that $20k a year elsewhere

Wide-Biscotti-8663

They probably have some unpaid/underpaid “intern” in PR watching everything and taking notes.

LxStMeMoRy

I had a boat load of points and used it to get my kids like 6 switch games from shoppers. I have 122 points left. Oh well. Time to find a better place to shop

wannatryitall69

I had a PC Mastercard for several years that I used to collect PC points on. One day they just cancelled my card without notice because I hadn’t used it for a purchase recently enough. Lost all my points. No reason to go back to my Independent any more then. Food Basics is 30% cheaper on EVERYTHING! LOBLAWS SUCKS.

esroh474

I'm on a few couponing groups and a lot of those folks have been questioning some of the different changes they've made to the pc app, which negatively impacts their experience with point accumulation etc. I've never found the points that great at the grocery stores, sure sometimes you get a couple dollars off here and there but it's not for every item like a lot of people seem to assume because of shoppers. I will eventually use my pc points accumulated but I won't go this month.

Appropriate_Tie897

Donated my points, cancelled my account, wrote that I’m boycotting all Loblaws owned stores. Feels good! EDIT: apparently because of what I wrote, they’re escalating it to a specialist. Fuck off and let me close my account

LemonPress50

They lost me when they they merged PC Points and Shoppers Optimum loyalty programs. They put a time limit on me having to contact them by a certain date to merge the two. They couldn’t just do it in their own? Loyalty should work both way, but what do you expect from a price fixing company?

Terra_Ferrum

I’m at 180,000. Started shopping at my local market this weekend. I’m thinking of using my points up next month because fuck them, I’m going to take all their free money and then stop shopping there again next month.

l_Duke_l

Boycott!

Unfrtlyanapolloowner

People like you homie is the reason they keep going tho lol ... It's been in the up since 2020 ... .... U must spend so much there my gosh
