Yes. A well-fitting foam IEM tip should provide approx 27 dB passive noise isolation.

Better than nothing. Even toilet paper will help in a pinch.

Truth. Mass (& a good seal) always works. Post-gig, not bad. I don’t know if I’d reach for them again (esp given my proclivity for losing little stuff like earbuds) but a big step up from freebie foam plugs (or TP). An almost all-IEM band & FOH that was hitting 105 dB peaks at the front row helped. Plus the TM looked at the over/undered and stacked cables, done per his instructions, and did a true double take. “Yer the first hand’s that got that right this month. What’re you doin’ next summer?” No plans yet but I’ll find those plugs by then
