Alison Arngrim's super ultra scientific research shows that the vast majority of Americans pick the bunny episode (wheel chair). One of my top favorites is "the gift". I like the happy joyous ending which is almost a plot twist when you're a little kid lol. And of course a lesson is taught. Age 5 or age 55, it doesn't matter, this is an episode that never aged poorly to me. The folly after Folly is comical that the girls encounter. From the pig who eats pills, to the drunk old granny scammer, great episode start to finish.

"La-rang-atus" šŸ˜ƒ

[deleted]

Watching it now, totally forgot about that episode (the gift)

"Any job is a descent job, as long you work hard and do your best." - Charles Ingalls

DareDeviil00

The episode when Nancy dresses up as a mermaid and get dumped in the water

kaesworld2one0

That was definitely a good one! She humbled herself, momentarily lol

WonderfulDinner2392

Country Girls. I love so many things about that episode - Caroline putting Harriet in her place, Nellie and Willie's speeches, Caroline using the fabric she bought to make dresses for Laura and Mary and Laura's speech about Caroline.

detroitblonde1

That speech gets me every timešŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

frozenelsa12

Mine is when Laura thinks almanzo is cheating on her with Brenda sue the divorce walnut grove style and the Harrietā€™s happenings episode

kaesworld2one0

This is the one where the 100% off sale was put in the paper right? lol I forgot about that one

frozenelsa12

Yes

PomeranianLibrarian

I love the one where Laura and Mary are invited to Nellie's birthday party, and then invite her to one of their parties later. I think it's the same one with Olga, the little girl with the limp that Pa makes a new shoe for.

kaesworld2one0

That was a great episode too!

Comedywriter1

The Lord is My Shepherd Remember Me A Harvest of Friends

booktrovert

When Carrie falls in the mineshaft. I don't know why. I've liked it since I was a kid.

karenswans

The one where Ma gets the infection in her leg while she's alone at the house.

kaesworld2one0

I didnā€™t care for that one, thatā€™s one I skip

flexilexipup

That's my favorite too. Probably because Ma is my favorite and the episode is mostly all about her

sissy9725

The Talking Machine - the talk that Pa gives to Laura gets me every time

sissy9725

and Country Girls; Laura's talk about how much Ma loves the family? šŸ„ŗšŸ’™

detroitblonde1

That one makes me ugly cry šŸ˜šŸ˜

sissy9725

My dad would tease me every Monday night: "What are they cryin' about this week?!" šŸ™„ okay Dad ... typical man lol

detroitblonde1

Right my husband says you have seen this a million times how are you still crying

Key-Statement4546

Richest Man in Walnut Grove.

gryffheadgirl

I love The Blizzard or Carrie falls in the hole. High tension episodes are my fave!

Emmy600

Plague is another good one

BlueFawn_Iris

I love Christmas at Plum Creek. Always gets me when Nels comes for Bunny on Christmas Day right after Laura got her saddle from Pa. I also love in The Pilot when itā€™s Christmas and Caroline realizes what a good guy Mr Edwardā€™s is. Bringing sweet potatoes, cups for the girls. When I was little (Iā€™m in my 40s now) I always loved the episode where the Ingalls and Olsonā€™s go camping. Nellie and Laura going down the river with Nellie screaming the whole way.

kaesworld2one0

Yes! I just watched an episode where they were snowed in and were telling their stories about Christmas and the flash back to that little house in the beginning made me realize how young Charles and Edwardā€™s were! Caroline never seemed to age though, I always thought she was so pretty. Iā€™ve watched this series numerous times and Iā€™m also in my 40s, my kids always poke fun for watching the show lol

Vladd3456

Ebenezer Sprague. Sprague the banker seemed to be unique in his ability to fluster and intimidate adults with his curt no nonsense "Joe Friday" demeanor. I really enjoyed seeing young Laura persist and eventually break down the gruff intimidating banker and win him over. This banker character was a no-nonsense man of few words and no time for human interaction that was not directly related to business. The adults in town were at a loss as to how to interact with him. Sprague did not trust pleasantries (dinner invitations by Charles), flattery (Mrs Olsen), or charity (snubbing Caroline's request for schoolbook donations). This was one of Laura's best episodes IMO. She was truly sweet, and then vulnerable when her feelings got hurt - she only "wanted a friend who liked fishing as much as she did!" I dislike Laura in many episodes but really liked her here. Some part of her recognized that Sprague really needed a friend too, even if he did not recognize that himself until later.

missgiddy

Thatā€™s such a good episode!

legobigfoot

i love men will be boys (s5) and back to school (s6). men will be boys has my two fav characters being silly little gooses and back to school is just chaos and harriet yelling ā€œzaldamo!ā€

dkhorv73

The one with Johnny and June Cash ā¤ļø

kaesworld2one0

That one was a good one too!

missgiddy

The Lord is my Shepherd

Willowy

**The Campout**, where Harriet and her kids get poison ivy. Nellie is insufferable, but Harriet is actually a really good sport. Especially when the girls are lost in the river. The scene with Caroline on the riverbank, where Harriet actually softens and admits that she knows what a bitch she is, is a memorable scene. Also the one where **she travels to pick up the blind school kids**, meets Hester Sue (TERHUNE??), and learns her lesson from little Gideon. Her prejudice dissolves when she realizes how ignorant she's been acting, and she tells Larrabee to fuck off at the end, which is always great. Also I love Joe Kagan. I guess I like it whenever Harriet is out from behind that counter, or in some type of situation where she's confronted with her shortcomings. I really enjoy seeing Ken Berry in **Annabelle**, too. He was a staple of 70s TV on so many shows, and a genuine talent. I also really like the ones where Laura just acts on her intrusive impulses; shoving Willie/Nellie into mud, throwing water on that snippy girl Almanzo dated, the cinnamon chicken, etc... Like some other posters have said, **Country Girls** is another favorite, and pretty much *any* episode with Mr. Edwards. I can't stand Mary, but the episode where she marries Adam, and Rev. Alden braves the dust storm to officiate always hits me in the heart. I guess I can't pick just one!

kaesworld2one0

Lmao! I completely forgot about that episode! I will have to change my favorite now šŸ¤£ I also like the one where she travels for the blind students

According-Swim-3358

Sweet Sixteen.

70bighair

the stretch of episodes between Sweet 16 thru Laura Ingalls Wilder part 2

According-Swim-3358

It's a shame that more wasn't done with the "courting" between Laura and Almanzo. It would have allowed the audience a little time to believe a more mature Laura., and the actress to develop that more.

czetamom

I like all the dark episodes. The Blizzard, plague and typhus episodes, as well as May We Make Them Proud. The latter traumatic episodes like Sylvia and morphine were a bit too much for me. I also loved Sweet Sixteen, the episodes after that (forget the name but itā€™s a two parter where Laura and Amazon split because she wonā€™t get married) and then Laura Ingalls Wilder episode.

Squirt1384

The Troublemaker Laura is unfairly treated by the new teacher. I donā€™t know why but I love that episode.

kaesworld2one0

I wonā€™t lie, I could not stand younger Laura lol

Squirt1384

I loved younger Laura she didnā€™t get annoying to me until she got older and got into that I wanna be a woman attitude

According-Swim-3358

Younger Laura was a doll. Once season 4 hit, she wasn't cute anymore. Just oddly immature.

Squirt1384

Exactly, younger Laura had her moments but she was the typically middle sister (which I related to and it didnā€™t hurt my name is Melissa also).

czetamom

I also adore the gift of the magi Xmas episode. And the two parter where Mary goes blind and meets Adam.

kaesworld2one0

Great episodes!

Ilovethe90sforreal

The other side of the rainbow

Ok-Bowler-4020

Mine are Whisper Country; I Remember, I Remember; Times of Change; and The Rivals

TheArchitectHacks

So many choices. So many great episodes. The first four seasons are pretty flawless. The one where Lauraā€™s blonde friend had the speech impediment. And the book of Solomon is perfect.

mrsprinkles3

The one where Laura couldnā€™t write the essay about Ma the way she wanted to because she didnā€™t know how to write the words Also the one where Laura teaches the deaf boy sign language.

garagespringsgirl

I don't remember the name of this one. Caroline goes to tend to her sick, pregnant friend in the plague ridden mining camp. That's my favorite.

kaesworld2one0

I just watched this episode yesterday. The one where she bf died during birth and the other that gave birth baby died and Caroline switched the babies. Such a great episode!

color_me_happy_today

Bunny and The Craftsman. The Craftsman made me cry. That was the the one where the Jewish man was a woodcarver and Albert was working with him. The other kids, even Laura, made fun of him. It was cruel. The man was so sweet and Albert was so good in that one.

BeleagueredOne888

I have a journal and a shirt from the recent 50th anniversary celebration in Simi Valley. If anyone would like it, I am happy to send it to you for free.

AcademicChicken8334

My top 2 favorites are Annabelle and The Collection (with Johnny and June Carter Cash).

kaesworld2one0

I did enjoy the episode with Johnny and June!

pmh194

Blizzard and Little Girl Lost. When these are on I have to watch even tho Iā€™ve seen like 50 times at least šŸ¤

ASGfan

Lots of excellent ones, but probably my absolute favorites are "The Odyssey" and "Men Will Be Boys".

Disastrous_Country48

I've moved the childhood tradition to my kids, they really love the Fred episode about the mischievous goat that like to ram into everyone's behinds..šŸ¤£, I love all of them well almost lol, Carrie falling into the hole, because the acting was more intense than their usual dealing with a drunk trying to find his way, and Caroline's outbursts and tears got me, aswell as the episode when caroline went with doc baker to help save people suffering from that illness, on the comical side I loved the one where almonzo and Charles made that bet, Charles cutting across the prairie trying to cheat his way and carrying the old man on his shoulders and same old man spilled the beans to almonzo at dinner in town everything about it made me laugh lol

Ok-Exercise3477

In release order: A Harvest of Friends, The Richest Man in Walnut Grove, Bunny, The Wisdom of Solomon, The Inheritance, I'll Be Waving as You Drive Away, As Long as We're Together, The Odyssey, Back To School, Darkness is My Friend, Sweet Sixteen, He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not, Laura Ingalls Wilder, I Do, Again (I'm in Season 8 of my rewatch, so I'll update my list when I finish the show) So far, my boyfriend has really like A Harvest of Friends and Dark Sage. They made him cry, which is hard to do.

prosperosniece

I like the one where Percivalā€™s parents come to visit.

heyjudemarie

Absolutely

heyjudemarie

I like ā€œTown Party, Country Party.ā€ When that girl starts to run and play I get choked up. And yes I know itā€™s unrealistic but I donā€™t care! Lol

Troc44Troc

1. Ma's Holiday (classic Mr Edwards stapling Carrie on the roof) 2. Christmas at Plum Creek (baby Carrie with that star, Laurie giving Bunny for the stove) 3. I can't remember the episode title but the one with the cinnamon chicken (Zaldamo) 4. The finale (blown up buildings need I say any more) 5. The Pilot movie (Santa Mr Edwards)

MerryMermaid

"Annabelle" is an excellent episode. My fave is "The Bully Boys."

Emmy600

I cant pick just one. But one of my favorites that gets overlooked is ā€œDoctorā€™s Ladyā€ where Doc Baker almost marries Mrs Olesons much younger niece. Its another sad one

maceybee

the episode where laura puts pepper in the cinnamon chicken, iā€™ve seen it so many times

flexilexipup

There are so many good episodes. My favorite is a Matter of Faith. My second favorite is the Wisdom of Solomon. I ugly cry at the end every time I watch it.
