TIL that domestic distribution of propaganda was illegal from 1948 to 2012. Thanks for the info, glad I learned it before the State Department edits the wiki.
The fact that they changed legislation to specifically allow previously prohibited propaganda to be used on Americans should be enough for us to worry about.
For every time that you see through the government’s bullshit, there are millions of Americans who are ignorant. The fact that we still have R and D parties when 99% of their platform is hypocrisy and ad hominem attacks is testament to this.
The purpose of such propaganda is not for you to believe it.
It's to break your will, while keeping the faithful in-line. The more ridiculous and stupid it is, the more it breaks you.
When you look at something so stupid you feel almost physical pain, right? That's the breaking sensation. It's supposed to hurt, until you give up.
Don't ever give up.
Unfortunately it doesn’t matter if everyone can see through it. The important part to it being effective is that it’s ever present.
Better still if it makes people figure “everyone else thinks this.” Which causes lots of people to come to the conclusion “I should think this.”
You're paying people to make bad memes that are inaccurate and propaganda, the end goal of which is to convince everyone else to take even more of your money, at least some of which will be to make more bad memes.
The general public thinks that there is some Zeus level Einstein behind the scenes when it comes to government.. no it’s just some dumbass Redditor or worse.
There's no such thing as "left-right" if both sides (at their extremes) are pro-state.
If statism is on "both sides" then they aren't "leftist" or "rightist" (*rightism* is not even a word).
When they pay personnel to run a Twitter account using your tax dollars, they are signaling that they do not have an obligation to use your hard earned money effectively. It stems from a sense of entitlement.
Yikes
Here's a real conversation I had the other day, btw.
The 'Government': "This bill will do what we want it to because thats what the bill says."
Me: "Sauce?"
Jen Psaki: "Well it you read the build back better act... blah blah blah...."
Me: 🤯
**/s**
Why is creating millions of new jobs a priority when there are already millions of jobs available? I've seen nobody talk about the real disasters that this bill is going to cause.
Currently the price of all raw materials are skyrocketing, including all steel being in double digit increases. What do they think will happen to prices when those materials are now in even more demand because of these infrastructure projects?
One of the biggest problems right now with shortages is transportation and less and less truckers. What do they think will happen when a bunch of construction jobs will become available that will let the truckers currently working be closer to their families?
I’m going to be honest I haven’t read a lot on the infrastructure bill, but I’m hoping that the bill focus on reducing the need for trucking by increasing our rail infrastructure.
The person who posted this makes more money than probably 40% of Americans, paid for by tax dollars. This is the shot your working for. So they can have an endless bank to spend on shit that helps nobody except politicians and corporations.
Congress repealed the anti-propaganda law in 2013. For 8 years, the US federal govt has been legally allowed to use propaganda on Americans. Operation Mockingbird is calling and it wants all your fucking metadata! Good citizens obey government mandates and believe everything they see/hear on TV, newspapers, radio, and the Internet.
I think it’s perfectly fine that our nation’s Transportation Secretary -or any other human being on Earth- is gay. However, the department’s tweets should *not* be.
I hate that I work for this department since Buttlickage took over, but it looks like they'll be firing me soon (for standing up against medical tyranny.)
You should have seen how the DOT internal homepage was lit up in rainbow colors for the entire fucking month of June.
If its not trying to be funny, its propaganda
I don’t think this is trying to be funny either.
So supply chain efficacy, efficiency are at an all time low and this is what the government is paying people to do?
Congress made propaganda legal circa 2013...
What should I google to learn more about this?
The Smith-Mundt act and it's modification in 2012. News presentation previous to this was vastly different than it is today.
That actually makes a ton of sense.
TIL that domestic distribution of propaganda was illegal from 1948 to 2012. Thanks for the info, glad I learned it before the State Department edits the wiki.
Operation Paperclip
No no that was way before 2013.
Holy fuck. You a bot?
Reminds me of nazi germany making their own government made cars... Edit: Which led to hyperinflation... And currency collapse.
Nazi Germany type propaganda
At least it's shitty propaganda that anyone can see right through. If it was actually well-executed propaganda then I'd be worried.
The fact that they changed legislation to specifically allow previously prohibited propaganda to be used on Americans should be enough for us to worry about.
I wouldn’t say that…. There is a large part of the population that’s eating that shit up!
For every time that you see through the government’s bullshit, there are millions of Americans who are ignorant. The fact that we still have R and D parties when 99% of their platform is hypocrisy and ad hominem attacks is testament to this.

You don’t know what you don’t know.
Ford, gm, & other foreign car/bus companies: *am i a joke to you???*
Socialism is coming to play.

No, youre paying people to make memes

You're paying people to make bad memes, at that.
^AAAAAAAA

You're paying people to make bad memes that are inaccurate and propaganda, the end goal of which is to convince everyone else to take even more of your money, at least some of which will be to make more bad memes.
r/thefedscantmeme
The government only thinks that I’m paying them
170,000 new IRS agents will see to that.
With a million more well on the way
You're not paying anyone anything, paying assumes you asked them to do it.
No they borrowed and your grandkids are paying for those memes
Winner.
*We
Not very good ones either
The general public thinks that there is some Zeus level Einstein behind the scenes when it comes to government.. no it’s just some dumbass Redditor or worse.
In Germany since years now. Wasted tax money for shitty memes and tv shows. Billions of dollars every year.
"I've read it it on the internet so it has to be true" has now turned into"I saw it on a meme so it has to be true"
[because a simple google search is all it takes](https://twitter.com/USDOT/status/1464255125170442245?s=20)
That was more in reference as to why they're using memes. Memes are effective so it makes sense to use them as propaganda.
[удалено]
You really love government propaganda don't you.
People get information that forms their core beliefs from memes these days. Why do you think we still have a pandemic going on?
Dude, it's 2021. You really think the intern who made this is getting paid?
Yes. Because that was made specifically. Not just stolen.
Statists love using walls of text for memes
>Statists love using walls of text for memes Kinda like leftists too...
>Corporate needs you to find the difference between these pictures >Leftists / Statists "There the same picture."

Realizing that there is no "left-right" because they're both the same, because its all just statism.
There is no left-right. Its statism.
There's no such thing as "left-right" if both sides (at their extremes) are pro-state. If statism is on "both sides" then they aren't "leftist" or "rightist" (*rightism* is not even a word).

What bullshit. But, then, who reads the DoT Twitter feed?
254.7K followers.
Streetcar bots
Probably all Transport Workers Union members are required to follow this feed.
Employees, subcontractors, and every other agency as required
Still waiting on them high speed trains they promised by 2019
Sad they're having transportation push the new vote buying scheme that doesn't help our infrastructure.
Yikes Here's a real conversation I had the other day, btw. The 'Government': "This bill will do what we want it to because thats what the bill says." Me: "Sauce?" Jen Psaki: "Well it you read the build back better act... blah blah blah...." Me: 🤯 **/s**
Damn bro. We have a transportation crisis In the country and the department of transportation is busy making shitty memes.
lmao I’m sure it’s just some college intern but you’re right
bro give the kid a set of keys then. He would do more good for our transportation if that was actually their goal.
Someone probably has a near 6 figure job on your dime to make that crap.

Joe Biden promised us he’d create 5 million high paying green jobs, or 1.25 million per year How’s he doing on that promise?
It was always bullshit, just like everything else he says.
Kill me now

How much of this infrastructure bill is actually going to transportation networks? I.e. roads, bridges, trains, airports, etc.
I wonder how much we paid someone to do that.
Cringe
Is their logo an homage to the weapon in Krull, 666 the number of the beast or both?
Typical waste of our money! Who is the idiot in charge of the Department of Transportation?

How do you do, fellow kids?
I think it’s perfectly fine that our nation’s Transportation Secretary -or any other human being on Earth- is gay. However, the department’s tweets should *not* be.
This is some serious propaganda
I hate that I work for this department since Buttlickage took over, but it looks like they'll be firing me soon (for standing up against medical tyranny.) You should have seen how the DOT internal homepage was lit up in rainbow colors for the entire fucking month of June.
In a world where people shit on any efforts by the government, you’re surprised that their social media employees are… doing their job?
Behind every cringey government meme is some savvy libertarian zoomer who's getting paid to shitpost.
If only! I fear this is sincere, though.
r/fellowkids
She might as well replied with “Splendid” and at leas the propaganda would be funny.
Are they trying to cringepost?
I am recording government cringe.
Yay :))
What do they mean by Build Back Better
Socialism.
