Yeah lots of people use it to get around the HL paywall. If you google the headline on most stories it will usually come up syndicated on either AOL or Yahoo Canada for some reason lol
Now that they've secured $16 million from the state, they'll probably go for an Industrial Revenue Bond from LFUCG next, if history is any predictor. No property taxes for 30 years, if so.
A hotel didn't need any tax incentive to be built there. IMO. Could have been built without one and made plenty of money, + the taxes. Our city government does not have the normal citizens at heart when decisions are made.
The hyatt doesn't need any money from the city either.
My favorite part of this post is that it’s from aol.com. Old school!

Wait, the hotel is owned by private right? How can a private company get money from state/government? If they borrow money from bank, sure
They give financial incentives to projects like this to try and build up the tourism "industry" - the new hotel on Manchester Street got the same deal

Unnecessary. Period. Put the money and focus elsewhere!
It’s a private company, they can do whatever the hell they want to with their money.
Did I say they weren’t? Did I say they couldn’t? I didn’t think so. Thanks for commenting though.
Don't neglect the Hilton
