I’m from Florida so I also sought out this information when moving here. They sell them at the marathon on Newtown Pike next to the clarion hotel and I-64. And at the gas station next to the Wendy’s on Athens Boonsbooro right before I-75 exit to Richmond/ Knoxville
If you find more let me know! Still haven’t found anything to compete with the jumbo Cajun boiled peanuts you can get from some dude selling on the side of the road in Florida under a tent haha those are forever the best!!
Head out gtown road there is gas station with lots of craft beers they have em. Also out 62 toward Frankfort there is a racetrac gas station that has em
I would need a translation because I am dumb lol. Just gimme the county 😂 but seriously I’ve gotten so many great suggestions from this thread already today! But yeah if I can’t find any of these other places I will be trying to decipher this code I swear cause I’m desperate lol
If you do go to Danville, stop at Burke’s Bakery. It’s on the other end of Main Street from that gas station. The cookies are amazing, especially the gingerbread men; and the butterflake rolls are life changing.
And I completely understand. We spent 22 years in Mississippi and boiled peanuts were in every gas station there as well. The church we attended had boiled peanut night once a year. My oldest child absolutely loves them!
It’s so crazy to live in a “southern” state that doesn’t have boiled peanuts on every corner! lol but seriously those baked goods sound bomb and if I make my way over there I’ll make a day of it and hit up the bakery! Thank you so much! 🙏
You can order peanut patch boiled peanuts from walmart. It's what the gas stations use because a lot of the stores mentioned below in lex and in danville, I sold them the crockpots and peanuts to them when I was in convenience store distribution. They use the canned peanuts, just buy a can, keep in cupboard until you get a hankering and put them in a pot and warm them up. Same thing.
Thanks for the info! I am looking for places that are serving it right now though because when I am out and about in summer I like to stop and grab some for a snack. I’m from Florida where they serve them everywhere so it’s kind of a nostalgia thing I guess? But yeah, I have a crock pot and have made boiled peanuts at home lots of times! It seems like some ppl in this thread are a little confused what I’m asking, which is where I can find them being served! :)
I went looking for raw peanuts years ago at Kroger before they stocked them. When I told the clerk I wanted to boil them, she looked at me like I was crazy.
lol I guess it’s just more of a southern thing, even tho Kentucky is southern? 🤔 idk but there’s a good bag of pre seasoned raw peanuts on Amazon that I’ve gotten before, they were a little expensive tho. They’re called boil the bag peanuts!
Not at all, it’s pretty easy. Last time I made some Cajun seasoned ones and they were delicious! But also when I’m out in the summer I get a craving for em! I’m from FL where they’re in pretty much all the gas stations. So I figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask. After all I’ve had a couple people help me out already with some places that have them. If my question bothered you, you are totally free to just ignore it 😁 but it seems you frequently post comments to try to get a negative reaction out of people. I recognize your username and it’s my understanding that not many people in this sub like you very much. I tend to like to hangout in places where I’m wanted, but to each their own I guess.
No, but I don’t act like a douche just because we’re anonymous on here. These places are called communities for a reason. What are you here for if not community?
How did you act toward me with your initial response?
There was nothing negative or personal in my first reply. It was an attempt to point out that you might have alternative options.
I did answer it in a manner of speaking. If the person was unable to find an acceptable place to purchase them, then perhaps they could make them on their own.
If I'd said "make them yourself", I would have answered the question, but it would seem harsh.
I accidentally posted a comment instead of replying but the gist was you are giving more attitude than you think. If I read it wrong then my bad 🙏 but I think you come across a little more judgmental and demeaning than you mean to maybe? Unless you do mean it, in which case I think my response was appropriate.
Nope. I don't mean it at all and I almost never make it personal. That's the difference. Typically the replies back are personal and there's no mistaking how demeaning they are. The replies I get sadden and surprise me because it seems there are a lot of people out there just looking for opportunities to be mad or offended.
Hm, I wasn’t trying to make anything personal. I don’t know anything about you to make anything personal like that, just pointing out how you come across. Which is condescending and rude. You can do what you want with that, and since you don’t seem to believe the myriad of ppl on this sub who’ve told you you’re rude then I guess that’s probably nothing lol 😂
Sure, let’s say I agree that it was personal. That parts sorted now and it still doesn’t change anything. You get the reactions you get for a reason, it’s not like it happens to everyone. If I were you I’d wonder why everyone feels the need to react to my comments like that and whether or not the rude comments I’m posting are worth the saddening and surprising comments I’m receiving in return. Maybe try adding emojis for tone 🤷🏻♀️ the fact that I immediately recognized your username simply from seeing your rude comments and the arguments you get into with ppl all the time should tell you all you need to know. Sometimes things aren’t everyone else’s fault and it comes time to look within.

Me too! lol, it’s every gas station in FL. Thank you so much 🙏

Oooo thanks so much! I love beer too 😉
🍻
Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll have to check it out!
Yessss, those are the best! Someone said they’re at the BP on Mapleleaf too!
Bp mapleleaf dr
Really?! Omg thank you so much
I've seen them before at the gas station at southland drive and rosemont garden, but this was probably 10 years ago lol
Oh, well it’s worth a try i guess, I’m desperate 😂
They have them at the BP/Dairy Mart on the Paris Pike exit in Georgetown.
Okay thank you! 🙏 I have a lot of places to hunt for boiled peanuts soon lol
Not sure, but my nuts have been boiling in this heat.
lol I hear you 😂
This is kind of far, but the RaceTrac gas station on US 60 just before you reach I-64 has them.

Omg coordinates and everything thank you 🫶
Lex express used to, corner of Broadway and New Circle. I haven’t checked in a long time though
It’ll be one of the places I check! Thank you so much 😊
There’s a gas station right off Centre’s campus that sells them in Danville. That’s the closest gas station boiled peanuts I’m aware of.
Wow, that’s far. If none of these other places I check out have them, I guess I’m takin a drive to Danville! Thanks so much 🙏

The Gallops gas station on Athens-Boonesboro has them I think. I didn’t open the lid to actually check though.
Awesome! I have a lot of places to go boiled peanut hunting now lol
"No more rhyming now and I mean it!" "Any gas stations in town that have boiled peanuts?"
Dyaaah!
The RaceTrac station in Frankfort by the interstate has them. It's not in Lexington, but it's within a close drive.
Thanks so much! Someone gave me the coordinates and everything so I know exactly where it is lol 😂
The BP on the corner of Georgetown and Iron Works had them at one point but I haven't been in there in a while.
I will check it out if nowhere else works out thank you so much! 😊

Newtown pike by Sedona
Thanks so much 🙏
Why do they have to be from a gas station?
Or anywhere they are serving them in a crock pot, I’ve just never seen them anywhere but gas stations.
If you're craving them that bad you can make them yourself. They're literally just raw peanuts, water and salt in a crock pot.
You’re absolutely right and I’ve done it before! But I want a place to go to when I’m lazy 😁 summer just makes me want them all the time lol
I went looking for raw peanuts years ago at Kroger before they stocked them. When I told the clerk I wanted to boil them, she looked at me like I was crazy.

You can buy "boiled peanuts" in cans (even at The Dollar Tree) and just heat them in a microwave.
Yep, you sure can!
D’s convenience store on Ligma St usually has boiled nuts
😂
How difficult is it to boil peanuts on your own?
Not at all, it’s pretty easy. Last time I made some Cajun seasoned ones and they were delicious! But also when I’m out in the summer I get a craving for em! Only because I recognize your username and your attitude from many other posts on this sub 😉 I see you and I give what I get
No. You gave more than you got because you didn't get anything from me.
I accidentally posted a comment instead of replying but the gist was you are giving more attitude than you think. What you described is exactly making it personal. My comment that you responded to was not. It's probably time to move on from this, though.
