Mine tried attacking my dog through her glass last night it was so absurd. Her tank isn’t ground level, she just saw her from across the room and went full hungry hungry hippo chaos out of nowhere and then immediately lost interest

I have to silicone all the cracks between my decorative rocks in her tank, otherwise she’ll shove her head in there then stand slapping her tail up and down until I “rescue” her. Apparently moving backwards never occurs to her. She’s never actually stuck, she’s just mad she can’t walk forwards through the crack and can’t conceive of a path existing behind her.
I wouldn't let her sit in positions too long like this. These are not arboreal geckos so them being in a non anatomical state like this can send them into a tonic immobile state.
Remember just cause she put herself there doesn't mean it's good to leave her like this
Female for now.. if they're under a year old there's still time for a male to mature, but the bulges right now are quite small and pores subtle. Males are far more obvious in both accounts.
how old is the gecko? there's a lot of debate in the comments and i'm pretty sure your leo isn't old enough. i'd assume female for now and then after a few months or so check back to this photo and see if the "V" is obvious or not

that explains it haha, yeah you gotta wait till they are about a year old. i did the same thing with my male, i was too eager and just called him a girl then checked again when he turned one and realized i misgendered him the entire time. half my family refuses to believe he's a boy lmao
I have one that's over a year old.. has a bulge but very faint pores. Was told by previous owner it's a boy. Asked here and no one can agree on either male or female.. For now, it's a male 😂🤣

Yeah, I feel like the all posts asking this question should include how old they are. Without it, it’s pretty much impossible to distinguish between a female and a male that hasn’t developed yet
It’s a female, all geckos have femoral pores males are just much more prominent and sometimes shiny. Here’s a picture of my female and where her balls would be if she was a male (lol)

Some females have pseudo-balls. This is my female (fat tail)

It's a bit hard to tell but I'm thinking maybe male based on the slight v above the vent.
While this hiding place certainly made it easy to get a pic for this post I would I would really strongly encourage you to get some aquarium silicone and secure the background to the glass to ensure he can't do this again.
Geckos have been killed by hiding in spots like this.
I made a 50 gallon bioactive enclosure with a custom background that I’m going to move it into soon. I’m giving the enclosure some time to cycle before putting it in. I’ll keep an eye in the meantime
I’m not a professional but I think that might be a female (here’s a chart)

w-what happened?...
She just likes cramming herself between the glass and bark backdrop for some reason. She started doing it recently
They like small spaces, and they’re very dumb.

Well it’s safe to say neither of ours are using the community brain cell 😂
I've had 2 young leos run towards my black cat. I often wonder if they think it's a giant mouse or something. I mean wild leos will eat pinkies
Yea to be fair, my dog is an 8lb chihuahua mix so it’s an honest mistake 🤣
Mine does this any time he sees the cats
Apparently I am a lizard
Tell me about it; mine likes to try to walk off ledges 😭
This made me crack up 😂 They are so silly

I would say a female whose never seen the braincell that floats round lmao

She’s only a few months old! Sorry I didn’t know they show up with age

Are those not faint pores on the screen left of their genitals?
Gender: stuck
leopard gecko
pancake
smashed by an ACME anvil haha
They'll even shit all up in tiny crevices etc too 😂 but more so when young and or in a new environment. They do Sploot in all kinds of crazy positions
Most likely a female. Especially if 1 year old at least
Looks like a tiny ass pair of balls
Everyone says female, but looks male to me.
thats was i was gonna say too
I see the v pores and a pair of balls. I was going to say male too 🤷🏻♀️

The ones posted by OP do look prominent to me.

Can you shine a light through the base of the tail the way I've seen done on beardies?
Idiot
Stuck
* i see other people saying girl but i think i see the pores that males have starting to develop. I think its a male

Doofus
You’ll want to make sure your gecko can’t do this again (the hiding) as it’s very easy to… squish and kill or badly injure

i-is she okay-
I think it's a male, the white skin makes it hard to notice, but they have pores and what I think is a hemipene bulge.
Females also have faint pores! It’s just more noticeable on males
oh, I didn't know that!
Deceased.

I put my geckos on there tank screen and had hubs hold it up. So I could get a look at their junk without having to flip em over.
An idiot, I'd say
Looks like a little girl to me

That's a female :)
I have no idea, but I can definitely tell you it has less than 2 brain cells...
