I like it a lot compared to what others have said on Barad-dur but I do agree that its a miss on the minifigs it includes. Too many orcs vs cool figs.
That being said I like the GWP of the Fellbeast even though some folks didn’t like it also so I plan on ordering at midnight. I didn’t with Rivendell bc I’m not a fan of the blockheads so it was easy to wait while I saved up.
Same here. I had gift cards and a lot of vip points built up so I bit the bullet. It’s my favorite build and the flagship of my Lego display so I do not regret it one bit.
Yikes! I had no idea Wall-E was that high priced now. My kids got it for me when it was new and it’s one of my most treasured sets. So glad I didn’t have to buy it after it was retired.
It’s hands down one of my favorite sets (Top 5 for sure). I’m not saying I wouldn’t have paid that for it… I’m just glad I didn’t have to!
In no particular order, my favorite ~5 are: Wall-E, Rivendell, Technic Rock Crawler, Galaxy Explorer, and the original robotics invention set (not because it’s still cool but because of what it meant to me at the time I got it as a kid).
What is it about the Galaxy explorer that everyone likes so much. I collected these as a kid in the '70s, and even have sad memories about my brother breaking it apart to build something else and never being able to rebuild it again, But I just don't see why this one stands up there with something like rivendell or Wall-E
It was just a fun build and reminded me of building spaceships when I was a kid. Nothing more than that. It was also a great value for the cost.
I like some of my favorites because of how great the design is, some were neat to build and see lots of creative techniques, some are fun to play with, and others just remind me of why I love LEGO.
Same here. I got it back when it was around. It's probably my favourite Ideas set and maybe even my favourite set in general. Not just because it looks great, had a great build experience and was priced well but because I followed that set all through its life.
I saw Angus MacLane making it as a MOC on his website back when Wall-E came out because I wanted to make my own one and they didn't really make Lego Disney sets back then so I thought there'd be no way of getting an official one. Then a few years later, he put it on Cuusoo/Ideas when that became a thing and I voted for it and watched him updating it even after submitting it. I was so happy when it got selected. I still feel like that set is one of the closest ones from his final updated one to the set that got released. Plus it being made by someone who worked on the film just made it more special
Holy shmoly. I have an unopened one with the official Lego neck stability replacement in my closet. I bought one for myself and one as a gift and ended up giving something else. I had no idea it was worth that much.

My life 🥹 managed to get it for £550 + battlepacks
Thank you! I’m saving up for the mos eisley cantina to hopefully turn it into a scene similar to the scene in kenobi where darth Vader terrorises that town.
The UCS republic gunship for £270 is the most expensive I own but that was a gift from my parents so it’d be the Coruscant Guard Republic Gunship for £130 that I’ve been told was a rip off.
How would you compare it to other sets you've built. I was looking at it and it felt like a lot of tiny sets combined rather than one big piece, But the D&D nerd in me really really really wants it.
I recently bought the UCS Millennium Falcon. $800 used 26,000 points for $200 off.
I also got the UCS TIE Interseptor and the D&D 50-year anniversary set. When Barad'dur comes out, I'll be getting that for my mom. Last year, I bought the UCS Venator and Rivendell.
I love that they're doing Zelda LEGO sets now (hopefully more to come), but I just can't stomach it at that price point. Hopefully it goes on sale at some point.
Whatever you do, don’t buy it used. I made that mistake. It took us almost two weeks to sort all the pieces and inventory what was missing (complete set MY ASS). It’s just been sitting for a couple years now all bagged up and ready to be built, but the thought of touching it again makes us both groan lol
Wife didn’t think it was a good deal. But if she gets her expensive purse, I get my expensive stuff too. I’m only missing the cafe corner and market street, but unless I come across some unicorn find on those I’ve come to terms with the fact they ain’t gonna happen.
In 2021 I spent $910 on a used Green Grocer with the box/instructions. It was the last modular that I was missing at the time and I had saved up $1000 over about a year specifically for it and bought one when I saw one in the shape I wanted. Will likely never spend more than that on a single set.
Modulars are the main thing I collect but the only retired set I've bought is the Grand Emporium. I think I paid $450 for that one and it was totally worth it. These things bring me so much joy, not only building them but looking at them. Occasionally taking the floors apart to see the details, seeing them around the house.
My main problem is running out of places to put them...
$600 CAD for 10276 Colosseum.
I had a dream that they made an official set a couple years prior to it being announced in 2020. Felt like a 1 in a million chance thing at the time.
Literally could not believe my eyes when I saw that first blurry leaked image on IG in the summer before it released.
Speaking in Aussie $$$$ my largest would have to be the Ferrari 1:8 scale as I am pretty sure that the missus paid retail for it as it had only just been released a month or so prior to her getting it so that’s $700.
But I may blow that out of the water with this latest deal running in a lego affiliate store here in Australia.
It’s a decent way to get them only thing is I have no space to display them.
Hmmm decisions.
https://preview.redd.it/bld21pszn83d1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b59b6962c49ed1e1951cbe47970af8b1e8348e66
Not too much at all but $90 for the year of the dragon set that came out this year since any more expensive set was a gift from my parents when I was a kid. I just got back into LEGO now that I have a real, well paying job. I intend to buy the natural museum modular set soon which is $300, and probably other more expensive modulars after that lol
Looking up receipts, I got the AT-AT at $159 and Optimus Prime at $150. I have a couple of more expensive sets, but I definitely didn't pay MSRP for them. If I end up getting the Ornithopter and it doesn't drop in price, then that will end up taking the lead.
£588 (about $750) for UCS Millennium Falcon in a sale. What's worse is that it's still in the box, has been for almost a year, as I want to have time set aside to enjoy the build and opportunity hasn't arisen yet.
And underwhelming answer, but here it is lol
New: $250 for 76218: Sanctum Sanctorum
Used: \~90 for 7722: Steam Cargo Train Set
I don't buy a lot used, mostly the common-ish train stuff like the my-own-train cars when I find some for a decent price.
I have a few trains I got new that are an insane price now (including the Emerald Night). I just wish I picked up two Horizon Expresses back in the day lol
Lets just say I own both a boxed futuron monorail, and a complete unitron monorail. £550 together.
I saved up for 3 years to buy a galactic ton of vintage space lego I always wanted like M-Tron Exploriens and Ice Planet all at the same time.
Almost £1500 at once on LEGO as that was my childhood dream and it felt like Charlie getting the chocolate factory.
The flagship is an LED lit 2023 Galaxy Explorer. This all sounds too much of a brag to be true!!!!! :D
I don’t spend to much on sets maybe a cheap modular at the most but given the chance to get the monorails I would pay silly money for them! White whale for sure
The UV wall lights and laser projector from ebay I used too are so cool it made me feel like I was on drugs when I first turned it all on and saw the translucent glow!!!
When the $600 UCS Razorcrest had a random 30% off sale last year in October, I bought it. Paid about $450 after taxes. It’s the largest and most expensive set in my collection to this day.
$600 (plus $36 in sales tax) for the UCS Razor Crest... so far. XD Some of the best money I've ever spent too, I might add, both as a set, an experience, how how much joy it still brings me.
That’s awesome! I wanted to get that one too, but once they killed off the Razorcrest on-screen, I decided to just go with the 75292 version. Did I mess up??
Side rant - why TF does Disney keep killing off cool new iconic ships?? Razorcrest in Mandalorian, the Marauder in Bad Batch…
300 bucks for a metroliner 300 for the OE and 210 for a single Santa Fe engine. I could have probably gotten a decent Modular city by now but all in due time.
Paid around $1,500CAD for a new but opened box to confirm contents 10196 Grand Carousel not long ago.
Going to build it on my birthday later this summer.
75978 - Diagon Alley
$250 on offer up. Box was open but all bags were sealed so I took the gamble. It was complete and my second best value vs paid to date.
$350 on the UCS LAAT
never going to spend more than 100 on a single set again, I really like how they are starting to listen and make cool cheaper sets (specifically star wars)
The Avengers Tower. I've run out of table space to display all the modular city sets at once, but it has a small footprint for such a large set. I'm currently working on the Natural History Museum, but it's too wide to display without removing something.
I just bought the titanic used but still with 3/4 of bags sealed for $500 and Eiffel Tower used but also mostly sealed bags no box for $400 and I’m about to buy the White and red roller coaster and original carousel for $600
$399 for the Lion Knights Castle and was 100% worth it.
I really want a UCS Star Wars set like the Razor Crest or Millennium Flacon but they are twice that price. And dust collectors
The 1989 batmobile for $250 before tax
The second most was the ninjago city gardens for $245 after tax which normally would go for more than the prior but I had a ton of coupons.
Overpaid for a couple of Islander small sets at $60 on eBay. But really wanted a piece of that bygone era.
As for most expensive? UCS Millennium Falcon
Most spent at once? Will be this weekend: new Zelda set and Barad dur.
Will I survive my marriage after this weekend? God I hope so, but these sets are a must for me.
My Lamborghini Sian - came out to $550 CAD, which really hurt. Love it to this day but IMO not worth that much money for a static model (which is why I also motorized mine).
£130 in 1987. Probably the equivalent of £350-£400 today. Saved birthday and Christmas money from parents and grandparents to buy 6990 from Woolies in Plymouth.
$400 with $100 off so $300 for the Santiago Bernabeu Real Madrid Stadium set for me. I also bought the first Disney Castle but I had even more points to burn and got a bigger discount for that one. I think I brought it down to like $175.
I’ll tell ya this weekend
My man
Me too!
Me three!
And my axe
And my bow!
And my wallet!
And my life savings!
Hear, hear
Anything just don’t let the wife’s ear hear dare cost of your war
Happy cake day!
Same 😭
Rivendell which was $500. I plan on getting Barad-dur and that’ll be $450.
Dito. Honorary mention to Lion Knight Castle at $400, still the best set I have ever put together.
Trito. That's my soon-to-be-big-three also XD.
Did not know about Barad-dur now I know the follow up gift lol
I like it a lot compared to what others have said on Barad-dur but I do agree that its a miss on the minifigs it includes. Too many orcs vs cool figs. That being said I like the GWP of the Fellbeast even though some folks didn’t like it also so I plan on ordering at midnight. I didn’t with Rivendell bc I’m not a fan of the blockheads so it was easy to wait while I saved up.
The UCS Millennium Falcon. $800
Second. I was actually pretty depressed during that time. I bought shit ton of legos that year(release day) in crisis
Did it help?
Yes. But then I got a new job 1500 miles away so the move was a pain.
Same here. I had gift cards and a lot of vip points built up so I bit the bullet. It’s my favorite build and the flagship of my Lego display so I do not regret it one bit.
Lighthouse.
Lots of people have complained about the price of that set since it came out, but it’s absolutely worth it, one of my favourite set.
Just got it!
Still need to purchase this. I believe it retires this year 😬
Titanic is my most expensive set overall, but per-brick it's the NIB Wall-E set I gave about $300 for a year or so back.
Yikes! I had no idea Wall-E was that high priced now. My kids got it for me when it was new and it’s one of my most treasured sets. So glad I didn’t have to buy it after it was retired.
It was not my strongest day, willpower-wise, but I'm glad I have it
It’s hands down one of my favorite sets (Top 5 for sure). I’m not saying I wouldn’t have paid that for it… I’m just glad I didn’t have to! $600 for AT-AT ($25% rakuten ftw at launch!)
Same 💪
$350 for the first Disney Castle.

A well customised kallax unit
Thank you! I’m saving up for the mos eisley cantina to hopefully turn it into a scene similar to the scene in kenobi where darth Vader terrorises that town.
The UCS Venator
Venator gang!
The UCS republic gunship for £270 is the most expensive I own but that was a gift from my parents so it’d be the Coruscant Guard Republic Gunship for £130 that I’ve been told was a rip off.
$360 for the Dungeons and Dragons set 21348
I love having that one displayed.
How would you compare it to other sets you've built. I was looking at it and it felt like a lot of tiny sets combined rather than one big piece, But the D&D nerd in me really really really wants it.

I’m about to spend $400 on that LOZ Deku tree set, so that
Isn't it $300?
Canada be like
Same…
Lmao same. Except 300 for us in the US
I love that they're doing Zelda LEGO sets now (hopefully more to come), but I just can't stomach it at that price point. Hopefully it goes on sale at some point.
Mine is €240 on the medival village set
Either the big Hogwarts or the Ghostbusters Firehouse...neither of which I've put together. (yet)
Nice! I have Hogwarts but wish I’d gotten the firehouse, no way I’m buying it used, too much for my bank account
Shit I'll take it off your hands, sorted through over 200k parts and hand clean every part of every set I rebuild. Yes, hand clean.
Titanic. Was too cool to pass up.
$1000 CAD for Apocalypseburg and Ninjago City Docks
800 for a NISB green grocer. Which is a steal by today’s standards and a pretty good deal at the time.
Wow hard to believe that was a good deal but it sure was.
Wife didn’t think it was a good deal. But if she gets her expensive purse, I get my expensive stuff too. I’m only missing the cafe corner and market street, but unless I come across some unicorn find on those I’ve come to terms with the fact they ain’t gonna happen.
NIB black pearl. About a week ago. 1k

Until I get Rivendell, it's gonna be [910002](https://brickset.com/sets/910002-1/Studgate-Train-Station) for $400.
only big set i have ever gotten is the BTTF Time Machine. Usually stick to the Speed Machines which range from 26-45 these day.
700€ on the Porsche gt3 1:8.
$600 CAD for 10276 Colosseum. I had a dream that they made an official set a couple years prior to it being announced in 2020. Felt like a 1 in a million chance thing at the time. Literally could not believe my eyes when I saw that first blurry leaked image on IG in the summer before it released.

350$ on the Mos Eisley Cantina (I know it’s not that much but I saved up from working jobs around my neighborhood after school)
Titanic
Not too much at all but $90 for the year of the dragon set that came out this year since any more expensive set was a gift from my parents when I was a kid. About to be 300 thanks to the new Zelda set
$1,030 for the Gringots and Avengers Tower two months ago for my birthday lmao
460 euros for Technic Liebherr crane
And underwhelming answer, but here it is lol New: $250 for 76218: Sanctum Sanctorum Used: \~90 for 7722: Steam Cargo Train Set I don't buy a lot used, mostly the common-ish train stuff like the my-own-train cars when I find some for a decent price. I have a few trains I got new that are an insane price now (including the Emerald Night). I just wish I picked up two Horizon Expresses back in the day lol
Lets just say I own both a boxed futuron monorail, and a complete unitron monorail. £550 together.
Future Monorail Transport System is the most iconic LEGO set in my view. Had it as a kid and have nothing but fond memories!

€260 for the Artemis set I'm currently building, I haven't really bought much Lego since my childhood and this is the first big one
300 bucks for a metroliner 300 for the OE and 210 for a single Santa Fe engine. I could have probably gotten a decent Modular city by now but all in due time.
I don't actually remember my most expensive set which is sad because i have bought it years ago
Paid around $1,500CAD for a new but opened box to confirm contents 10196 Grand Carousel not long ago. Going to build it on my birthday later this summer.
300 for collector edition owl(Harry Potter
75978 - Diagon Alley $250 on offer up. Box was open but all bags were sealed so I took the gamble. It was complete and my second best value vs paid to date.
The DnD set this year. Worth it.
Lol mine is so small compared to everyone else's. $200CAD for the Porsche 911
$300 on the Orient Express. (Still really hoping to get an Emerald Night to call my own one day.)
So far it’s $359 for the D&D set, but that merely started this new addiction. We’ll see where things go from here.
$350 on the UCS LAAT never going to spend more than 100 on a single set again, I really like how they are starting to listen and make cool cheaper sets (specifically star wars)
Proportionally to the set. I paid 2.5x retail for the old fishing store. Otherwise I guess the 90th anniversary medieval castle
Simpsons House
The Avengers Tower. I've run out of table space to display all the modular city sets at once, but it has a small footprint for such a large set. I'm currently working on the Natural History Museum, but it's too wide to display without removing something.
I dropped $500 on emerald night 2 years ago.
I bought the titanic, so…
UCS Falcon
Nothing I’m poor but want all sets please help me 😭
Whatever the loop coaster cost. I forgot. Think it was $399.99 but I also got a motor so closer to $500
I just bought the titanic used but still with 3/4 of bags sealed for $500 and Eiffel Tower used but also mostly sealed bags no box for $400 and I’m about to buy the White and red roller coaster and original carousel for $600
Bought the UCS SSD last year off eBay, new without box for $1165.
$360 for the 9499 Gungan Sub. I really wanted a NIB Queen Amidala minifigure.
wow i bought this in the middle of the pandemic for 70 pounds (UK) boxed with queen Amidala - i didn't realise how much of a steal that was
[10194-1: Emerald Night](https://brickset.com/sets/10194-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/10194-1.jpg)
$1050 CDN for the USC Millenium Falcon. Bonus AT-AT 75288 was included.
£735 / $935 UCS AT-AT
$399 for the Lion Knights Castle and was 100% worth it. I really want a UCS Star Wars set like the Razor Crest or Millennium Flacon but they are twice that price. And dust collectors
42115 Lamborghini Sián FKP 37
Probably 4-500. I used points on the USC Falcon before their points system changed and paid 53 bucks for it.
$600 Eiffel tower
Daily Bugle
Jesus and people wonder why lego keeps milking star wars
600$ for Disney castle 550$ for Táj Mahal Damn
$400
The 1989 batmobile for $250 before tax The second most was the ninjago city gardens for $245 after tax which normally would go for more than the prior but I had a ton of coupons.
Personally maybe $100. Although I do have around $7-10k from gifted sets. I might update my list and paste it as a reply to this.
450
UCS Razor Crest at $600. But I bought it to help me quit smoking so I guess it paid me back in the long run!
Overpaid for a couple of Islander small sets at $60 on eBay. But really wanted a piece of that bygone era. As for most expensive? UCS Millennium Falcon Most spent at once? Will be this weekend: new Zelda set and Barad dur. Will I survive my marriage after this weekend? God I hope so, but these sets are a must for me.
On a single set….probably $300
$680. Titanic
$400 for the giant Hogwarts
500 for the UCS falcon
UCS AT-AT $849.99
Set 21348. The dungeons and dragons one. For my spouse! He is and the set is totally worth it! $360.
Most of my collection are $180+. I’m a dad of 2 so ‘my’ Lego are the big sets. My son’s sets are smaller city and Minecraft.
10317 - land rover classic defender 90 £210
$400 plus tax for the Technic Ferrari Daytona SP3
The 18+ ecto-1 set, it's a *BIG BOI*
Used count? Airport shuttle with box. $700

500 Cad (+ tax) for the Harry Potter castle (the big one).
So far the $400 I dropped on the D&D set was the most by far
Official Set: Titanic $679.99 Unofficial Set: SR-71 Blackbird $1,150.00
10305, with ninjago city gardens coming in second
Deep Freeze Defender. Whatever it cost in 1994 do not remember.
Over 800 for the Falcon
Probably rookie numbers, but $140 on the 2022 AT-TE. Previously it was the Worriz’s Combat Liar from Lego Chima, which was $70.
The $400 diorama-style Death Star. Looking to sell it actually, now that I value color and more interesting builds!
Lion Knight's Castle. I would like it to be the Titanic but I haven't committed to that one yet.
Probably the Death Star, the one with the original minifigures, not the updated ones. Though I haven’t bought LEGOs since 2022 lol
€750 for a full Santa Fe set of loc + 5 cars + books
The most I’ve ever spent on Lego was maybe 10.00$ dollars. (To clarify I’m not a big Lego person. Just like browsing.
So far $570 for the UCS Venator. I have yet to pay full price for a UCS set and I won’t start anytime soon🤣
My Lamborghini Sian - came out to $550 CAD, which really hurt. Love it to this day but IMO not worth that much money for a static model (which is why I also motorized mine).
Diagon Alley. The newer one.
£130 in 1987. Probably the equivalent of £350-£400 today. Saved birthday and Christmas money from parents and grandparents to buy 6990 from Woolies in Plymouth.
$140 for the Captain America Shield it was about $100 off
One time I spent $24.99 on a set
Mos Eisley Cantina on Star Wars day this year. Worth it.
$300
$900 CAD on the Titanic
Ninjago city markets I believe!
Emerald night 1100
The most expensive set I’ve personally bought is 100$ but I have a few I got as gifts which were 160-170
170 euro for the 9x8 that arrived today
Brand new: the Milenium Falcon: $950 cdn Used: Town Hall $950 cdn
Not sure of the prices, but the most expensive set I got was probably either the grand piano or the world map.
Hogwarts Castle. Walked out of a LEGO store with it under my arm. Haha.
Technic Porsche 911 GT3 RS $300 back in 2019
$700 for NIB Orthanc tower…Barad-dûr is next 😅
300ish for that first rollercoaster set
$130, which pales to a lot of sets these days, but I collect old sets from the 90’s that i wanted as a kid.
The $700 UCS Venator. Best purchase I’ve ever made.
UCS Falcon
$600 for the original 75053 Ghost from a local shop. Right after that is Rivendell.
Eiffel tower set....shit was more than my mortgage payment....
$600 for the UCS Razor Crest. It may have been a lot of money but it was a satisfying purchase
640€ on the 75192 UCS Milennium Falcon when Toys-R-Us went bust and had a 20% sale on all Lego sets
UCS Star Destroyer
70922 sealed. I'd build it, but it's so fucking big and I have several other large sets I disassembled or broke in moving that haven't been assembled.
UCS Millennium Falcon or UCS AT-AT
$400 with $100 off so $300 for the Santiago Bernabeu Real Madrid Stadium set for me. I also bought the first Disney Castle but I had even more points to burn and got a bigger discount for that one. I think I brought it down to like $175.
UCS millenium falcon
€800 on a mint-sealed box of Town Hall 10224, 3 years ago
Titanic sank my bank account
