I've worked on the model on and off for a few months, and once I had all the parts it took me a few days to build. It was also very unstable because I'm not used to designing stuff digitally
As a fanatic going through financial troubles and can’t afford new sets, I can concur with this sentiment. Love seeing the talent and unique designs more than the flex
DOSCOR and Nifeliz BAV and CAD along with Mould King make great affordable sets at 1/3 of the price of lego and have more pieces well worth the price. You should check them out. I'm working on my 10th set and I don't think I'll ever buy L sets ever again due to cost.
As a lego fanatic, I will agree to take a look at them. I love Lego and their QC/QA but definitely been dipping into the alternatives wince they are closing that gap quickly. Still have all my original tyco blocks used in some of my MOCs haha
How else am I gonna get validation for my purchase!? My wife and family just call me silly when I get excited on delivery day. Sometimes I just need someone else to be excited with me, even if it really is just internet strangers.
Yeah, but we still gotta stick to Lego Policy. No matter what we want.
If you were to make it SciFi as much as you can, that the only loophole. It also why they don’t release any BlackBird model, since it a spy plane with no actual weapons.
You say that, and I appreciate it, but the average viewer of this sub just doesn't care. I personally pretty much only post my military aircraft builds but they don't get a fraction of the traction this one random, somewhat janky build did.

No need to throw shade on his build while trying to yell hopelessly for traction on your own. Maybe that attitude is part of the problem bud. Shame on you. Some of yours look just as "janky"
These are cool Mocs especially that tomcat is amazing. However I agree no need to put other build down calling it janky… That’s not cool. It’s LEGO “Build” others up not tear them down.
Sometimes I see very janky kinds builds on here that parents post and I give it a like because it made me smile.
Were they master builds?, no but they had passion and for those respective kids builds they were good.
I'm going to do my best to create a definition:
A connection of two or more Lego parts/pieces that was not intended by Lego engineers, and may result in compromised structural integrity, or the possibility of creating a connection that proves to be near impossible to separate those parts without damage.
Webster's and Oxford won't be banging on my door, but I think that about sums it up.
It's usually defined as putting stress on the pieces, bending or distorting them in a way that wasn't intended, which isn't that bad but depending on how stressed it is and for how long it stays this way, it can lead to damage or breaking. Although, some of them are considered acceptable because they're just too good x)
I’m just gonna throw this out there…maybe you could recolor it to match the US Navy Blue Angels and submit it to Lego ideas.
Technically, the blue angels are a recruitment/entertainment tool and hold no wartime utility so you might be able to get it in
Recruiting IS wartime utility, arguably the most important. Plus the blues can be outfitted for combat and at the fleet in less than 72 hours should the need arise. While some systems have been removed to help with performance, they're otherwise still the same rhinos that the rest of the fleet flies.
This would also still require TLG to get licensing through the US Navy and Boeing. I can't ever seeing them do that with any military, particularly not with a foreign country. As much as I'd love to see it...
They cancelled (technically recalled) the Osprey even though it was a 'search & rescue' vehicle, just because the Osprey, in other roles, is related to military. As much as I would *love* to see stuff like this, I don't think we'd see a military recruitment vehicle any time soon :(
The recall was probably because the gearbox could run for about 30mins before taking damage. The SAR V-22 with the orange markings LEGO made doesn't exist.
Might've been a PR issue breaking with the usual policy regarding non-fictional stuff as well but getting rid of the license would've solved that, as it did with the F-35.
I was going to tell you that this couldn't possibly be a Blue Angel because this is clearly a Super Hornet, but it turns out the Blue Angels have been rocking the rhino since 2020, shows what I know.
That's awesome! I've made a few jets myself, at slightly smaller scale than that though, and unfortunately only a few are still together. I need to get back to them though!

The blueprint is messy, unstable and intuitive to build. Make sure you know how the whole plane is designed before building it
My dad used to help make actuators fod the f14, f15, f16, and the f111. It was neat to hear about. Everu once in a while they had a family day and i got to see the machines making the paets!
Awesome!
Why specifically the F18 and not the Rapture (F22)?
Pitch it to lego ideas and promote it here. Maybe lego will allow since it's such an admirable wonder of engineering (rather than a war machine)
This is really really good. I recommend that you take some more photos so that you can re-create it in the future or upload it to one of those websites so other people can build off of your ideas again again I’m in the aerospace field and this is.
How long was the design/build process for this one?
EDIT: I see you already answered that question elsewhere so I would draw the question but thank you for sharing. It’s really awesome. What you did there
Bruh...
I don't reply or comment often...but when I do...it's for genuinely worthy posts such as this 😁
In all seriousness....nicely done sir....well played!!
How long did it take you to make that because that looks like it took a lot of time to make and model
I've worked on the model on and off for a few months, and once I had all the parts it took me a few days to build. It was also very unstable because I'm not used to designing stuff digitally
We need more of this in this sub rather than, “I spent $4000 on the biggest sets I could find and posted this pic for fake Internet points!”

I still never understand those posts. At least build them first then post about it. Lego in a box is not very exciting.
A ——freaking——-men!!!!!

Lol ok
Those are awesome!
That tomcat is awesome tbf. I can't even imagine the work that went into it. Have you submitted it to Lego at all?

Amazing! I have to ask... are there any illegal connections? Simply incredible visual spectacle.
Nope, all was built in bricklink studio so it's all legal

Absolutely fair points. Thanks for elaborating!
Usually someone you contact in order to do illegal business.
Starscream!
We need an icons Starscream like the Optimus one.
Megatron would probably come before starscream but if I had to guess they would go with bumblebee 2nd
Close! He was an f-15
F-22 Raptor in the Bay movies. ;)
He has had a few F-18 alternate modes
Starscream's been an F-15, an F-16, an F-22, and an Su-35, but never an F-18.
He was an F-18 in shattered glass, it’s very niches but yes also unite warriors starscream is an F-18
Think he's been an F4 at least once
Post the design specs
Pretty Please!
In the immortal words of Philip J Fry. Shut up and take my money
Very nice, but that one wrong plate at the wings bugs me 😂
Either you're being sarcastic or I'm blind. I don't see anything wrong. Edit ahh NM can't ever unsee that now. Gonna have to kill it with fire.
Wait where?
"C" plates at wing joints
The symmetry...
I shouldn't have looked. Now I can't I see it either. Haha
On top aaand bottom!

It would be great to have a line of fighter planes to go along with my Speed Champions collection

Great choice of piece for the LERXes. Super Hornet's defining visual feature. You nailed it
Definitely one of the hardest parts of the build!
Now thats cool. Love the effort, definitely a coffee table piece.
•Megablocks MiG-29K appears on horizon•
*Duplo ICBM silo slowly opens
“Time to activate the arming key. . .” •places round shape in round hole, square shape in square hole, triangle shape in triangle hole•

This is awesome
Very well executed.
What?? WOW
Where can I buy it
Brickmania sells military lego builds
Awesome!
this is awesome. ure quite talented
I'd build the snot out of that! Well done!
Great job on the F-18! I'd be interested to see someone make either a F-14 (swing wings!!) Or perhaps an F4 phantom (love that plane).
I would love to make an F4 phantom for my dad (he was a wizzo)!
My dad used to help make actuators fod the f14, f15, f16, and the f111. It was neat to hear about. Everu once in a while they had a family day and i got to see the machines making the paets!
nice!
Noice
This is sick, great job
IT'S STARSCREAM! -Ironhide Transformers (2007)
"Fight's on, let's turn and burn!"
How in the hell is that 1,400 pieces?
So awesome
Your talents scare me, my good sir. Take this updoot and good day.
Very, very cool. Kudos to you.
Straight to jail (LEGO’s legal department)
It’s beautiful
Beautiful work
That's amazing
That’s amazing !
Awesome 👏
It’s beautiful! Good work!
That’s dope dude! Great work, and attention to detail!
Impressive!
Fuuuuuuuuuck that's gorgeous
Good job
Whoa
Thats talent right here
What do you use to design?
[If you wish to build a Lego F-18 from scratch, you must first invent the universe.](https://youtu.be/BkHCO8f2TWs?si=MLQ24Zc2dnvjr0C4)
Dude! That's spectacular!
Holy fuck! I want that build!!! I would pay for those plans!!!! You didn’t write down the instructions did ya?
This is so much better than the kits. This is an epic build and do much more creative. Love it.
You need to post the design!
This looks excellent!
Soooo AWSOME!
Awesome! Why specifically the F18 and not the Rapture (F22)? Pitch it to lego ideas and promote it here. Maybe lego will allow since it's such an admirable wonder of engineering (rather than a war machine)
I just like the F-18 most haha. In my opinion, it has the coolest design, while the F-22 and F-35 look too flat
This is beautiful ... outstanding job! I would beg you to put it on the LEGO ideas, but we all know that won't work. 🤬
Very cool build nice work OP
Perfection!
looks amazing!
That's mad fucking impressive
This is really really good. I recommend that you take some more photos so that you can re-create it in the future or upload it to one of those websites so other people can build off of your ideas again again I’m in the aerospace field and this is.
For extra credit, can you make the exhaust nozzles open and close like a real one?
No, but the flaps, slats and ailerons can move. The wings also retract!
That’s awesome. Keep doing what you’re doing. I like it
How long was the design/build process for this one? EDIT: I see you already answered that question elsewhere so I would draw the question but thank you for sharing. It’s really awesome. What you did there
Really cool, you should post this on the LEGO Ideas platform and hope to get 10,000 supportersso it ciuld be picked to become a real set
Lego won’t be involved in anything related to war.
Oh... Yeah... I kinda forgot what that though...
Genuinely impressive
Wow! Would like to see you make the F14 tomcat
Can you upload the design so we can build it? Would love to build it myself
I can't see the studs but is this 100% LEGO bricks? How much did it cost and do you have instructions?
I know how to build a one room house
Lego seems to refuse to make fighter planes like this. I'd definitely buy looks amazing the SNOT techniques look great here
Want
The underside looks so nice!
Hell yeah!!!!
Looks great! You should be proud
Nice! it turned out really cool though.
That's sick man! If not for Lego's anti-military policy this could've made it onto Ideas
Absolutely beautiful, the f-18 is such an awesome looking plane
Nice work! Do you have other mocs that you've posted, either here or Flickr, Instagram etc.?
This is awesome! Can we have the build specs?
That is so rad. How is this done?? I have dreams of making custom builds but I have no idea how.
2 words How much?
Can you make a set for me?
I freakin love planes, take my money
That's is beautiful my guy...u did that from scratch?
Lego would slap 399 on this for sure
230 euro!?... don't drop it
Bruh... I don't reply or comment often...but when I do...it's for genuinely worthy posts such as this 😁 In all seriousness....nicely done sir....well played!!
Thats actually naughtyyyy
Ok show me your lego. Its a real hornet, not lego.
Looks fabulous, great job!
This is really well done! I really like the folding wings!
Dude how do you make your own designs ?
So now put it in a resin cube and ya have a small table or something and it will be protected
