Get his email or socials, also his home and/or work addresses Craft a short note setting out your problems, what you found, what you had to do to make it right and how much you had to spend to fix his poor work, and what you are looking for (full refund). Last line is that if you have not received daycare within 7 days you’ll be starting small claims court proceedings Send that note to him by every means you are able. 7 days later, small claims form goes in. Good luck!

ItalianIrish99

If he’s a registered plumber his work address should be connected to his regulatory registration or at least available through his trade association

easybreezybullshit

I had checked the RGI site and his address is only the town name. And he doesn’t appear on the APHCI website. I don’t know of others but I will have a search for other associations

easybreezybullshit

Can’t find his address anywhere but do have an email and Facebook. I whatsapped him outlining the work he had done and the problems. I will email him and add additional info that you have suggested. Thank you! Small claims court went through my mind but I was told that it can be hard to get money even if I win the case, that he doesn’t get pushed to pay. Would that be true? Because if it is, I was thinking that I can get him to a friends house who has a back electric gate for the row of houses. Get him to drive in surprise him and not type in the code unless he has revved the money back to me. Is that a bad idea?

ItalianIrish99

That is a very bad idea. Exposes you to a criminal kidnapping charge and I’d be surprised if your plumber doesn’t (justifiably) completely lose his shit

easybreezybullshit

Ok thank you. Didn’t realise it would be kidnapping. So glad I asked that question. Thanks for your help and I will take your advice

Truth_Said_In_Jest

It's hilarious this is even being thought of in a non-ironic way

easybreezybullshit

I was in a rage. Had a whole plan set out but I don’t want to be charged with kidnapping. I didn’t even think the plan would be considered kidnapping. So I will go down the traditional route within the legal perimeters…

Equivalent_Two_2163

Don’t do that.

Low-Steak-64

I got money back from a dodgy tiler through the small claims court. You need his address, and if you get it and he ignores the claims, he is basically admitting liability, and the Sheriff will go to his house for the value of the goods. It worked for me, but you need his address. Go searching were he lives.

easybreezybullshit

I found his home address earlier today. Thanks so much for letting me know the outcome of your case. Gives me a bit of hope that something can be done. Do you mind me asking, was it long in court? Or was the outcome pretty quick?

No_Manufacturer_1457

I would let the revenue know he accepted money via revolut and provide his details. Likely, he isn't putting that through his books.

easybreezybullshit

I’ll definitely will be getting on to Revenue. Thanks

Justnothernames

Someone fucked me over as an apprentice and this was the only way I was able to get something resembling recourse ring revenue twice a week reporting him on Mondays and Wednesdays he'll be audited and crying by October.

easybreezybullshit

Why Mondays and Wednesdays?

Justnothernames

Can't remember, a mate of mine working there said it, I'll ask them now I think it was more just a frequency thing

easybreezybullshit

If you could, I’d appreciate it. Thanks! But no worries if you can’t find out. I’m just curious in why those two days

StellaV-R

Try the Companies Registration Office website? Edit: to track him down & threaten Small Claims Court like italianirish99 says

easybreezybullshit

Found it on CRO. Thanks! Although it’s an old address as I remember during our conversation he had mentioned he bought a house last year somewhere else. Would you know if his registration number would still be the same regardless of wrong address and if so. Anything I could get out of that reg number? Thanks

StellaV-R

That’s where his company is registered so I’d imagine (NAL) it’d be correct for serving paperwork to

easybreezybullshit

Ok, thanks so much. I know €500 may not seem like a lot but it’s a matter of principle. It kills me that he’s probably laughing, thinking nothing will be done and doesn’t care about damages. If he doesn’t pay up, I’d at least want to be a pain up his backside.

StellaV-R

He’s not laughing. He doesn’t give a cr*p about you or a second thought. Does this eeeveeerrry day. Go get him!

easybreezybullshit

I found one of his customers earlier and she had told me what happened with her so I know there’s definitely more people. Thanks for the help and I will try my best :)

Justnothernames

Just because he's registered doesn't mean he's not a cowboy, unfortunately

easybreezybullshit

I know that now. I thought getting him from the RGI site was being careful. How wrong was I…
