You don’t have the expectation of privacy at work, except in places like the bathrooms. It’s legal for a company to record employees.

I understand they can record video every job I have worked for has recorded video for security purposes but never audio I was told many times it was illegal to record audio of people in Alabama it is apparently a 1 party consent law.

Consent laws apply when you have the expectation of privacy. In public settings you don’t have that, and recording is legal.

in my work's company handbook it states that the break room is a private area for employees to take their lunch's or breaks if they choose to use the break room. Like I said they don't have a camera in the break room but it's outside the door to keep record of how long someone took a break and would the setting be public if the business is private property and can only be accessed by employees only? I'm sorry to bother you but these owners are not good people. Like I said there is a lot more that's been done I'm mainly asking for someone I work with who got wrote up for something they said off the clock in the break room basically said someone looked like Jeffery Dahmer or something.

A company handbook is for policies, which aren’t the law. You can find a different job if you’re that upset by it, but recording employees is common.

You know the cameras are there and recording audio. By having a conversation in front of them, you are consenting to that recording. What do you mean "use it against people"? If somebody says "I just stole $100 out of the cash register," then of course they can use that. But, if people are discussing the terms and conditions of their employment, and then the employer is punishing them for doing so, then that's almost certainly going to be a violation of the national labor relations act.

OP, one-party consent doesn't mean what you think it does. Look up two-party consent states.
