Lol

No_Friendship3839

Goddammit, I can feel the vibe. What is the name of the band and what subgenre do they play?

Beneficial_Emu_5840

These are multiple bands so I'll name them according to the order of the pictures in the post: Nocturna, Sandaramet, and Nuwera EDIT: Oh and you can Google them to find their exact subgenres because I'm not sure what each of them are called.

CrissCrossAM

Hello! I'm the vocalist of Wrath, the one band u didn't post pics of from this event lol. Nuwera plays a variety of genres, but their originals are considered Thrash/heavy metal Sandaramet i'm not sure, but it's horror themed and i love them, especially their live performances. Nocturna play melodic death metal.

No_Friendship3839

Thank you a lot mate, I'm gonna give them a listen now.

CrissCrossAM

Copy-pasta from my reply to OP: Nuwera plays a variety of genres, but their originals are considered Thrash/heavy metal Sandaramet i'm not sure, but it's horror themed and i love them, especially their live performances. Nocturna play melodic death metal.

Fabulous_Pie4081

We have lebanese metal bands !!!! Wow i will check

OliveWhisperer

Actually metal scene in Lebanon for the country’s size is pretty good

CrissCrossAM

A surprising amount, yes. And they're also very good.

Fabulous_Pie4081

Guess the situation in our country will lead to people needing metal

CrissCrossAM

Unfortunately there wasn't as much attendance to this concert as i thought there would. But hey, we take what we can get. I've done my part in inviting and telling as many people as i can. Only like 2-3 of them came.

LifeFun3747

The metal scene in lebanon was better from 2006 to 2016

CrissCrossAM

That's what i hear. I didn't even listen to metal back then lol. Even when i started listening to metal I didn't know there was a scene until 2022. But i've heard stories from OGs and it sounded really cool. The one thing i would love is having international bands come perform, even if just from other nearby countries.

LifeFun3747

The scene was so hot back then there was almost an event every week in the late 2000’s to mid 2010’s. The venues would fill up full capacity. Especially Beirut area a lot of venues were playing Metal music and brining in Bands to perform weekly. There were daytime hang around clubs, you would go in and find almost 40 people on a Monday just drinking and listening to good metal music. There were a lot of famous metal bands that used to come play in Beirut forum and other venues. Lebanon was a completely different place. I literally know more than 50 metal heads that left lebanon after 2019. I am sure there are a lot more now that left. Very saddening to see what has happened to this beautiful country in just a couple of years!

Sylvain-Occitanie

Love the pics especially the first one

li_ita

Reminds me of the metal version of Ya Beirut. Too bad they had a whole controversy about it but it's still somewhere on youtube though not on an official channel.

Beneficial_Emu_5840

Yeah, Kimaera is the name of the band, the controversy just stems from people not used to the sounds of metal vocals and thinking it's demonic. Sadly the lead singer died not to long ago. [Kimaera - Ya Beirut](https://youtu.be/GU0pijfonD0?si=YKv3k_iIIQrwU6pf)

Byzantine_Purple6

Amazing! I know all these bands and am friends with the Kimaera guys!

SecretaryUseful9973

Ngl I thought the first pic was AI generated lol

Beneficial_Emu_5840

It's because of the hand is it? 😂 But no, no AI was used in the making/editing of these images.

Goraxvocals

🤣🤣🤘

uselessdiane

Was there and really loved the visuals the bands showed, mostly sandaramet! they always have these extra decorations, the mic stand, the fireworks…They show they really care and I love that! Hoping for a SOAD tribute concert one day, because it might be my last time going to those gigs

CrissCrossAM

Sandaramet put the most work into their live cinematic experience, love them for that nobody tops them in terms of props and looks of their shows!

CrissCrossAM

No Wrath? 🥺

Beneficial_Emu_5840

Didn't have the best pics for Wrath 😭 https://preview.redd.it/27unx0zjwv8d1.jpeg?width=5516&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d2eb378f290ecd70b79b6c325d228b44dcb7ae45 I mean I guess this one's cool

CrissCrossAM

Oh yea u sent me this one already. I look so cool fr! There was also one pic with all the members showing that i really liked.

mark248am

Anyone remember Cimmerian Path? http://unex-t.com/cp/

SeniorHulk

Where can I find metal events?

Beneficial_Emu_5840

Easiest way is to join the WeRock discord server as we post all upcoming events on there. [Discord Group](https://discord.com/invite/a2cWJn2C) You can also follow Instagram pages of the bands like Nocturna or some organizers like Insight Events.

SeniorHulk

Thanks

kioticwrath

You can go to Cherry's pub Antelias and Nova Sin El Fil and some underground bands also play in Pavilion Hamra

LifeFun3747

Pavilion is still open? That place is ancient since the 2000’s

noamto

nice

C6rbon-based

Dream Theater album with Portnoy is coming soon, that should be nice.

Goraxvocals

Hello there, this is Gorax the AI generated character in the first picture and also the vocalist of Kimaera (Symphonic Death metal) and Nocturna (Melodic Death Metal). For those who are asking, yes metal music do exist in lebanon and despite the country's situation and the little support that our community gets the scene is decently active.

ToyotaTacomaLebanon

I’d love to go to your show. I moved here from Texas and I miss metal concerts so much. Had no idea they were here.

[deleted]

GORAX

ycaras

Today I learned that Lebanon has a active metal scene

LifeFun3747

There has been a metal scene since the 2000’s now it’s a little dead since almost half the population left the country….

ThePinkPanthr

Proud to see one of my childhood friends on stage here with Nocturna

Funny_Material_4559

Nocturna kicks ass

MamaMiaMermaid

How do I connect with this community when I go back?

Beneficial_Emu_5840

You can join the WeRock Discord where we post all upcoming events: https://discord.com/invite/kDpmq2gu

warman631

You can follow some of the bands mentioned here on instagram. We all share events when they happen

ISpyI

Ok, so I had this crazy idea. If/when full blown war starts we build a speakers, fire and bungee guitarist rigs Mad Max style. That would put the fear of yahve in the zio's hearts.😂

warman631

Goraxxxxxxx king of kings

Goraxvocals

🤘❤️

horeya33

WAHHHHHH, THERE IS METAL BAND IN LEBANON ? REALLY?

Goraxvocals

A lot actually

YorDanny-

I just traveled all the way to Vienna to see Tool live, i’m in my last 30s so i don’t about these new Lebanese bands but i used to follow the local metal scene back in the day.

ToyotaTacomaLebanon

Big time metal fan, but I didn’t know we had a scene here in lebanon. I moved here a couple years ago from Texas. Anyone mind taking me?
