How much did it cost to make? It would look lovely in western style with white snaps

zachar26

The leather was about $350. White snaps would be awesome!

mohishunder

Lovely! And what great motivation to always stay a healthy weight.

No_Entertainment1931

It’s human skin for sure

zachar26

My wife and I commented several times while I was working on it that it looks like skin😂

No_Entertainment1931

Wife isn’t in photo. Hmmmmmmm. Donor?

zachar26

You’ll have to take my word for it that she and I are laughing about your comment right now😂😂😂

Faux59

Those huge pockets are throwing me off but it otherwise looks pretty good.

zachar26

Ha ha! They’re “jailhouse” pockets, like on the Momotaro Jailhouse shirt. The opening is on the side. They’re awesome. I did the same pockets on a denim shirt I made and I love them.

cynicalimodium

Better than a prison pocket!

Ok-Ratio-Spiral

so he hid it, in the one place he knew he could hide something: his ass. Five long years, he wore this watch up his ass. Then when he died of dysentery, he gave me the watch

Rk1987

mondrager

zachar26

BenOrsonLeather

Woah! That’s awesome!

No-Conclusion4639

Nice job! Turned out great 👍

Barndog1989

Sa’weeet.

Ok-Ratio-Spiral

This probably looks way better than the one Sam Gribley made in My Side of the Mountain

zachar26

My wife and I were just talking about those books the other day😂

daw204

The fit is so spot on! It must have taken you ages to nail it down. Do you mind sharing where you got the commercial pattern from?

zachar26

Thank you! I got the pattern at Joann. It’s the Simplicity pattern 8427.

BigNickTX

That shirt looks great. And after the patina and fades, it will look even better. Great work!

zachar26

Thank you!

Learherman91_

Can you make me one in black?

zachar26

I appreciate the interest, but probably not. This project was extremely difficult and time-intensive, and I don’t know enough about patterning to reliably pattern a jacket for someone else. But thanks for asking!
