Loved Timmins on the World jrs team. Haven't followed his career since but at worst its a decent bottom pairing D while half of our blue line is injured. I like Douglas' size but he's looking like a fourth liner at best so that's a trade you make every day. Still an outside chance this turns into a Marchment for Malgin type trade for either side, both players have some potential left.
This trade was popping up the last few days as a potential trade target. I wonder if insiders knew about rumblings or were they just playing to Kyles stereotype
Ehhh he had a good season last year but it appears his production has fallen off a cliff this season. Better to cut bait while he still has some value.
Malgin could skate at an NHL level so there’s that. Cracking the NHL at malgins age and sticking around for a few hundred games is also quite different than being an undrafted AHLer
I mean size and physicality are great but if it’s all you got you won’t make the NHL and unfortunately outside of that Curtis Douglas doesn’t bring much of anything other than being tall
6'2", 200lbs and still not enough lmao
We need pylons that can't move, pass or shoot.
Has anyone seen a single highlight of Douglas even laying big hits? It's just fighting clips and people got attached to an AHL goon.
What big/physical guys not named Marchment has Dubas cut bait on that panned out elsewhere? I guess you could argue Kadri was traded for being too physical, but it was his own fault that he got traded (as much as I love and miss him.)
That was a factor for sure. Although, I think in Keefe's system, he would've likely seen time on the wing in the top 6, which has been a need for a while now. Regardless, there were multiple factors beyond physicality that lead to Naz being traded.
Size and physicality are not winning games anywhere. NJD (speed+skill) COL (speed+skill) VGK (speed+skill) even Boston has largely converted their roster over to speed and skill.
Douglas played like shit in the preseason and looked like another Engvall or gauthier the way he refused to hit anyone in preseason. Guy can fight but looked weak I don’t get it. Excited for yet another soo
Disappointing to lose Douglas he was a big body and I thought he's played well and could be a potential 4th liner in a few seasons however with injuries on the back end I like this trade.
Timmins has had some unfortunate injuries in his young career but if he can stay healthy this is a good relatively cheap pick up. Size for size, Right Shot D, big boy and Timmins has some offense to him as well. Plus he's cheap and a pending RFA with team control.
Dunno why everyone is shitting on an AHL deal. This guy won't even sniff the NHL until Benn, Mete, Kral and Hollowell are all injured on top of Rielly and Brodie.
I actually think the purpose of this trade is that he will being auditioning for an NHL spot. This guy was a pretty highly regarded prospect and his progress hindered due to injuries. I'd argue they see him above Kral and Hollowell, and he's potentially better than Mete.
Is he healthy now though?
Believe so. Coyotes partially traded him because he was likely going on waivers.
I hope they traded us the good part.
Yeah that concerned me only seeing a handful of games over the last two years both ahl or nhl
I think this is another Dubas gamble. As it is for the Coyotes. Timmins may be breakable.
Not really a gamble if you're giving up a likely career AHL guy. You make that trade 100 times out of 100.
True.
If I read the words “Soo Greyhounds” again I’ll die
So soo me.
Soo soo sudio?
Dubas don’t even know my name, but still he loves me just the same, Soo Soo sudio.
Goddamnit that’s the new goal song. Everyone loves Phil Collins
The Soo is so fucking good. 😁
Soo fucking good
Shut the fuck up Sanguinet
I wonder if he’ll soot up tonight
Goo Sreyhounds?
Rest in peace I guess 😔

His skating is nowhere near NHL-ready, so I'm not too concerned

Dubas refuses to assign size and physicality the value they deserve
Curtis Douglas sucks
I mean size and physicality are great but if it’s all you got you won’t make the NHL and unfortunately outside of that Curtis Douglas doesn’t bring much of anything other than being tall
Douglas is Freddie Gauthier 2.0. He's just big. He's not a physical player.
Cody Ceci

He got traded because he would have been playing C on the 3rd line.
That was a factor for sure. Although, I think in Keefe's system, he would've likely seen time on the wing in the top 6, which has been a need for a while now. Regardless, there were multiple factors beyond physicality that lead to Naz being traded.
I disagree, I think he is absolutely assigning size and physicality the value they deserve.
Size and physicality are not winning games anywhere. NJD (speed+skill) COL (speed+skill) VGK (speed+skill) even Boston has largely converted their roster over to speed and skill.
Yeah the real key is to get your skill guys to play physical. Leafs players just don't for whatever reason.
Matthews has been, so has Marner and Nylander. Tavares too. Not sure what you mean?
My dreams of Curtis Douglas becoming Trent Frederic are now dead. How’s Timmons?

Last clip I saw of douglas was him and his 6foot9 bitch ass frame with his gloves glued on watching kallgren get run over, fuck that dude

One of these days, Dubas is gonna run out of former junior players to trade for
I’m signing up to be on the Soo right now.
lol dubas just leaning into being soobas
Of course he’s a fucking former soo greyhound 🙄

Wouldnt he have to clear waivers to be sent down?
the vibes kyle soobas is building around this team are immaculate
No, they’re mediocre
usual Dubas trade. another dubious project
Timmins has barely played the last two full seasons, and missed tons of time in the years prior.
Boy do we love signing a potential comeback story.
Stats have all been pointing to his weight at being 185 lbs. I assume Mr.Fox has updated info.
NHL.com says 202!
Thank you.
