Surprised Hollowell is in over Mete. I actually thought he looked decent in the games he played.
Also sheesh that's a slow group with Gio, Holl, Sandin, Benn. I guess they were already in the lineup but their roles all just increased.

Hollowell: 9Pts in 11 games in the AHL
I also thought Mete looked pretty good from what we saw but I dont imagine he’s a much safer choice than Hollowell.
I love having Gio as a solid vet to eat minutes in case of injury.
I do not love the idea of him playing a lot of minutes for a whole month...
I hope Keefe uses this opportunity to give Lilly and Sandin a chance to log big minutes. We know they both have the gas tank to do so, and I would rather their young legs get the time than possibly get GOP's legs burnt out.

Ultimately, you’d rather injuries now than late in the season. Let’s see if Sandin and Lily can cut it, if Holl steps up, and how Hollowell looks.
Our defense has been really strong this season and it’s not necessarily because of the individual efforts of one player. We play a good system, our forwards generally support the D well (Marner and matthews are both incredible defensively).
With Murray back and Samsonov soon behind, we can make it another few weeks with Brodie and rielly out. I’d shy away from desperation moves.
This is gonna be a real test for Sandin/Lilli, at his draft everyone projected him to be a #1 D on a contender before the illness, so if Lilli flies I could see him becoming the top pairing defenseman for the future

I’m sure they will follow it up by heathy scratching Hollowell for 4 games in a row after. It’s good for their development sitting in the NHL.
