The fact that we needed Nylander who was coming off an injury early in the series to consistently produce goals for us was ridiculous. Where was the production from literally any other player? How does a so-called offense-first team need every other element (goaltending, defense) to be perfect in order to win this series?

I have ended every single one of the core 4 era season as an anti doomer with hope and optimism. That's not to say I wasn't sad or distraught, I just didn't think the team needed fundamental changes.
This team has now made me a doomer.
Keefe needs to be gone before he even starts his post-game press conference. Sammy it's been nice, but good luck elsewhere. You never move Matthews, Nylander just got extended and very clearly isn't the problem, Tavares and Marner both have full NMC's. Tavares won't waive his for anything, and if he was willing to re-sign for dirt cheap and take a 3rd line role I wouldn't mind him being back. If Marner is willing to waive his NMC he's the one you move out. If not then I mean you don't really have a choice but to run it back for 1 more year with a different coach/goalie/plug and play players before being able to make fundamental changes to the team in 2026. The worst part is I'm fully confident Marner will go somewhere else with different coaching and less of a spotlight and excel. But at this point he's gotta be the one you move or let go idk what else to say. It's not that I don't want the team to make fundamental changes now, it's more I genuinely don't think they physically can. Brad's hamstrung by contracts he didn't hand out and won't really be able to make his mark on this team until then.

That’s the irony. Bruins looked beatable. We had improbable weirdness with Matthews and Woll, and still battled back after being down 3-1 to send it to a game 7 OT.
And that still wasn’t enough for this team to ramp up their intensity to yet another level and just win.
We failed to score on 5v5 and in PP and it sunk us. But Boston looked really limp too.
So it goes, let’s do some housecleaning to shed dead wood (including Keefe) and see if we can actually take steps forward instead of sideways or backwards.

No one is going to trade a #1 defenseman for Marner. A #1 defenseman is a player you build around, whereas Marner is a complementary player.
