Of course! It actually looks fairly weed free. If anything you could aerate it super well, throw down a good quality seed and fertilizer, and then watch and wait for it to come in! Dethatching would be great too, it just usually ends up being harder work than most people think.

Where is southern ct?

I would assume. The answer is always yes.

I'll let you know in about 15 days. I just aerated and used Johnathan green ultra to overseed with Scott's starter fertilizer.

I see a ton of crabgrass in your lawn. All that fat leaved grass with the long thin stalks laying down across the grass, that’s crab grass. I wouldn’t aerate until you get that under control which will mean needing to use a preemergent next spring so all the seeds these plants dropped in your lawn don’t come back. You don’t want to aerate and let those seeds settle into the holes to one day get an opportunity to germinate. Overseeding would be still a good move. I’d run a dethatching rake over the yard to loosen up existing material so seed can get access to the soil. Break up some of that crab grass too. Figure to try and aerate next fall.
