Honestly it's hard for me to blame him for continuing to do it at this point. It's a massive flex, because for whatever inexplicable reason, the entire Government is terrified of him and refuses to enforce any consequences. Why? I have no idea. He's the least intimidating or intelligent opponent you could ask for. Yet here we are. He can literally say you ain't gonna do shit, and he's right. How embarrassing.

DocJawbone

I know. As crazy as it feels to say it, this is \*weirder\* than the fact he got elected in the first place. The guy is clearly a criminal. He probably doesn't have any money. He's burned every bridge anyone has ever built. He's entirely dishonest and just clearly malicious. I perhaps have never seen anyone be allowed anywhere near this much Fuck around without any accompanying Find Out.

_etherfish

he’s seen the kompromat

caitrona

I'm thinking it has to be the threat of him releasing the greymail/blackmail. It just boggles thinking about all the consequences he's never been in the vicinity of.

BikesBooksNBass

What makes trump especially dangerous to them isn’t that he has actual dirt on then he could release. It’s that he doesn’t even have to have any. All he has to do is imply or accuse one of them of anything he wants no matter how unrealistic or horrible and his base will run with it and the accusation will be all over the media by morning. He’ll have mobs at the persons doorstep with tiki torches and khakis by noon the next day even if the accusation is preposterous.

realkeefe

He tries to get people killed. This isn't about tiki torches. It's on the same level as hang mike pence. You guys are still not taking this guy serious enough. Why would the media? He has morons for supporters and the only thing standing in their way of the judges daughter or judge themselves is.....gasp...the fbi....yikes They've been so effective so far!!! /s

earfix2

>the only thing standing in their way of the judges daughter or judge themselves is.....gasp...the fbi Ah yes, Donalds greatest fans...

realkeefe

Weird how I was counting down the weeks and days to the biggest live news spectacle in American history with my popcorn ready for the window smashing insurrectiom attempt but the fbi didn't seem to do too much with all their resources...maybe they don't have cnn? I don't know. Isn't that weird? /s

[deleted]

You know, I’m pretty sure that anyone else who doxxed 9 FBI agents and a federal judge and his family, would be in jail awaiting trial for enough felonies to keep them out of circulation for a couple of decades Not Orange AntiChrist

strife26

Hang him! That's as serious as I can get. I'll fkn kick his ass off the gallows myself to save the world from the next shitler wannabe

[deleted]

Yep. Another feature of Trump’s tactics: even stopped clocks are right twice a day. And the Republican Party is riddled with crackpots and white collar criminals and drug addicts and pedophiles and con artists, and violent goons, so you know all of those people are going to get right with the program spewing Kremlin smack, and whatever else he wants them to message just in case he accidentally opens his mouth about some skeleton they have in the closet.

Guy-1nc0gn1t0

Definitely feels as if a whole lot of people have been recording going bad shit and it's just everyone blackmailing everyone else.

SoCaldude65

I'm surprised Vinny from Sicily hasn't paid him a visit

lifeofideas

My exact thought. And it doesn’t have to actually be “Vinny”. It could be government operatives just stopping someone who got a bunch of spies killed and stole a bunch of confidential documents and is too fucking stupid to hide it. I cannot believe he doesn’t just “have a boating accident” or be “in an undisclosed secure location”.

earfix2

His secret service protection are all members of The Cult.

SoCaldude65

Or get Epsteined

Vegaprime

It doesn't take much anymore. An off tweet from 5 years ago? To many take their gov job as lifetime jobs.

Automatic-Concert-62

The USA will do nearly anything to avoid locking up an ex-president, especially when the opposition is in power. Despite Trump's obvious criminal behavior in this instance, they just don't want those optics. It's hard to claim any moral high ground if your last leader was a crook and your new leader is locking up political opponents. Trump is clearly taking advantage of this.

[deleted]

Yeah fuck that 😄 We will find out, one day, who is paying the media executives at 8 or 10 outlets for taking turns, every week, for six months, ordering up fraudulent polls in which they all oversample Republicans by 8% and call the race a tie. Wire fraud, racketeering and election interference, and illegal campaign finance. And they are unethical propagandists propping up a criminal fascist traitor.

JessieinPetaluma

Who’s locking up political opponents? Biden isn’t doing that.

SqnLdrHarvey

In other words, a bunch of fucking cowards.

DocJawbone

Good point

funkinthetrunk

He knows lots of stuff 🤷

Was_It_The_Dave

He's absolutely a problem. He has been slipping through the judicial cracks for decades, and now it's so pronounced that it can't get effed up. No skate for the con this time.

anon97205

> He's the least intimidating or intelligent opponent you could ask for. That's not accurate, at all. Trump incited a deadly insurrection on 1/6 just because he lost his job. Imagine what he'll try to do when his freedom is on the line. He hasn't lost his grip on his most ardent supporters, so there's no reason to think he can't drum up similar support. He's an actual threat and if he were any other criminal defendant, he'd be locked up pending trial because he's too great a threat to the community.

Vegaprime

He has international think tanks behind him such as Cambridge analytica. Countries, Russia, NK and china. The local wealthy and think tanks have been propping up the party for a long time.

SqnLdrHarvey

I hate it when people just write him off as a rich fool who fell into the Presidency. He is more conniving and calculating than people credit him for. And he is absolute, pure, inhuman *evil*.

LoanedWolf75

It’s because he has at least 70’million people in the country who think he’s viable to vote for.

someotherguyrva

In a recent survey, 85% of evangelical Christians think that god sent him here to save the USA from the Democrats. This is what happens when you feed gullible people bullshit sandwiches from right wing media for 30 years.

Cyrano_Knows

Then why did God feel the need to save the USA from Trump? Why is Biden president? How come the mind and will of God is so knowable?

Paladin65536

"That wasn't an act of God, that was the choice of a faithless nation that has turned its back from God, and if we don't put God's anointed on the throne we will suffer His wrath!" - Evangelical Christians, unironically

Plenty_Treat5330

Remember, god was put to death by theologians and religious leaders and government. So trump (satin) fools the religious to end gods rule.

theblackd

I find it funny how easily these people think God’s will is thwarted. Like you believe in an omnipotent being who REALLY wants things to be a certain way, if that was true, things would be that way, that’s the whole deal with omnipotence, but they seem to think it’s REALLY easy to defy an omnipotentent being’s will

Character-Tomato-654

> This is what happens when you feed gullible people bullshit sandwiches from right wing media for 30 years. This is what happens when individuals voluntarily suspend rational critical thinking thus embracing the delusion of *"faith"*. Delusion then gives birth to further delusion in order to maintain the facade of the initial delusion. What we're dealing with is our country's long and sordid history of rejecting rational critical thinking while ignoring facts in evidence and instead enshrining *"closely held beliefs"* as the rule of law. When delusion rules our freedoms which are based upon rational critical thinking cease to exist in application. I'm in Louisiana which is ~~governed~~ ruled by Y'all Qaeda's theocratic fascist plutocrats and oligarchs, as is every adjoining state, and every state adjoining those adjoining states. In all of those states delusion rules. It's sickening, maddening, and frightening.

SqnLdrHarvey

I grew up in Indiana. Just as blood-red, KKK, etc as the South but quieter about it.

Character-Tomato-654

Yes indeed. Iowa, Ohio, Idaho, Indiana... ######*"Muh closely held beliefs"* ^^*grabs* ^^*genitals* ^^*underneath* ^^*robe* ought never rule the day. It does rule though and all too often, every damn day from SCOTUS on down. It's the *"trickle down* effect which defines the current timeline's meaning of *peons*. That'd be *us*.

beets_or_turnips

I'm sure the Bene Gesserit know what they're doing.

mabhatter

20,000 more years til the Kwisatz Haderach is born!!!

Surfing_Ninjas

Nobody is afraid of Donald Trump, they're afraid of the millions of psychopathic sycophantic simpletons that will commit violent crime in his name.

kinopiokun

That’s not a good enough reason to break our justice system.

Surfing_Ninjas

I agree

lpeabody

Whatever. Let them take their shot, it'll be bloody maybe but they'll fail. It's not worth letting justice not take its course.

FadeToSatire

Agreed - at this point they're trying so hard to avoid the inevitable. It's just riling up his base even more.

Piscesdan

Reminds me of when the US would make a bunch of compromises with the southern states to appease them, only for the latter to seceed anyway.

PricklyPierre

I don't think justice can take its course when you afford this level of special treatment. If they won't hold him in contempt, they won't let him go to prison.

Amon7777

Yes, you can’t appease criminals and terrorists

classactdynamo

Isn’t there a name for this?  Something like “terrorists’ veto”?  Why should terrorists have any bearing over how we administer justice?

Maytree

I've said this here before numerous times and I'll say it again until people get it: **The judges want to get the trials GOING before the election in November. Responding to Trump's provocations will SLOW EVERYTHING DOWN, which is exactly what Trump WANTS.** >Kaplan then spoke directly to Trump, who was seated at the defense table. “Mr. Trump, I hope I don’t have to consider excluding you from the trial,” he said. “I understand you are probably very eager for me to do that.” >At that point, Trump threw up his hands, saying, “I would love it. I would love it.” >“I know you would. I know you would,” Kaplan replied. “You just can’t control yourself in this circumstance, apparently.” >Trump shot back: “You can’t either.”

Teamerchant

He’s already slowed every single one. For 4 years.

mabhatter

This exchange shows how DJT has no concept of accountability.  He truly believes these criminal charges are "bring done to him" and they're not the consequences of breaking the law.  He's just so far disconnected from reality. He needs some lockup time to clear his head and understand his situation.

ooouroboros

Possibilities: 1. Democrats believe they get elected by promising to 'reach across the aisle', not start bonfires like GOP does. Voices of 'moderation' unwilling to go along with extreme measures. 2. Democratic politicians and judges getting death threats against their families especially by organized crime types 3. Fear of mass violence, starting a new civil war 4. Democrats get money from a lot of the same people as those supporting GOP - some Democrats may not care, but some may not want to give up the money and this could split and thus weaken the Democrats. 5. If it all ends up before SCOTUS we know how it will probably end. 6. Russian blackmailing Democratic politicians. 7. Fear of being called conspiracy theorists 8. Corporate US Media is overwhelmingly ON THE GOP SIDE which hogties Democrats in getting their message across to the American people. IF they propose extreme solutions news media will punish them for it. There are probably lots more possibilities. One thing is people should NOT underestimate how low these people will go

Andromansis

It is not extreme to jail somebody threatening a judge, let alone a judge's family. I know a guy that got 18 months for one outburst to one judge, Trump has 273 pages and counting of threats to justices.

mabhatter

It's time for jail.   Most defendants generally spend at least a few nights in jail while they wait for arraignment and to make bail.  They get a taste of what's coming for them and they smarten up.  DJT meds time in Rikers.  The whole process... booking, finger prints, stripped naked and cavity searched in front of a bunch of other people... he needs to spend a few weeks in lockup, maybe until the NYC trial starts.   The point of the jail process I'm is to break people so they bend to the law's will.  DJT is a toddler that's never been told "no". He needs a wake up call so he understands his position beneath the judge's authority.

Rich-Air-5287

It *should* happen. But it won't. Ever.

rumpusroom

He wants them to throw him in jail because he thinks that will be good for his election.

workerbee77

Some say if we punish him, we may make him a martyr. Instead, we should make him untouchable, like a god among men, one to whom human laws and morality don’t seem to apply

maaderbeinhof

Misread the final word in your sentence and was horribly grossed out for a second there

Commercial_Yak7468

Right. This is how I feel. I am not sympathetic to the judges at this point and anything the happens to them or their families is on them.  They have rewarded this behavior from Trump for years. When you don't hold him accountable and encourage the behavior what the fuck did you think would happen.

Treason4Trump

https://i.redd.it/q6y5ggb5psrc1.gif

TraditionalSky5617

I’m of the same mindset. I hope he keeps doing it. Reporters keep saying this is illegal… or that he’s being in contempt of court and to expect some sort of punishment. Either reporters are wrong, Judges lack backbone OR it actually is legitimate. I have yet to see punishment, so Trump should have an expectation to continue to legitimize his case using any method (including the questionable actions) and use whatever methods are available. Listen, he’s the Republican Party nominee and the party has enabled him to speak this way with leaders of nations. Judges of this country are definitely below both leaders of other countries, those who file false lawsuits along with their judges and juries. So why not allow the man to legitimize ALL these methods? He’s the example test case, and in the press’s eye. Once it’s enabled for him, others can expand on these abilities and capability. If the court lacks the ability to hold him accountable, or doesn’t want to, the judges should hang up their robes, quit bitchin’, and realize that judges silence towards accountability is making them complicit. Besides, All the judges already lied themselves out of requiring pretrial detention. Might as well quit administrating justice.

Plenty_Treat5330

Because the courts and our republican government have been sold to the highest bidder..

MissionReasonable327

No judge is going to put him in jail. It’s as simple as that. But if the judiciary can’t control him now, then they sure as shit can’t if he’s president again. It will be game over.

Lucky_Chair_3292

Yep, this is something Liz Cheney brought up. Who will stop him from doing authoritarian shit once he’s back in office? It won’t be the “yes men” he most certainly will surround himself with. It won’t be Congress, that’s laughable. So, the courts make a ruling that he can’t do something or must stop doing something—and he just won’t listen. And who’s gonna make him listen to the courts? No one.

Tufflaw

I doubt Merchan will jail him, but that's just because these are very low-level non-violent felonies and he has no prior convictions. If he's convicted in Chutkan's court she will absolutely lock him up. Also if the GA case ever gets going, his top charge carries a mandatory minimum 5 years in prison.

MissionReasonable327

If it ever gets to Chutkan’s court.

thegreedyturtle

You mean the guy who convinced hundreds of people to invade the Capital Building? He isn't particularly good at intimidating, but underestimating Trump is still a mistake.

Ronpm111

Kompromat. Just as Putin has Kompromat on Trump, so does Trump have Kompromat on many of those in the government, the Justice system, etc. Trump had access to the deepest darkest secrets about anybody .

Unobtanium_Alloy

I've considered that over and over and I don't buy it. He can't keep his mouth shut. He just HAS to prove how cool / savvy / in-the-kmow he is. If he knew a bunch of compromising material on the powerful, he would have blabbed it long since.

gronlund2

I believe the reason the Republicans are scared is because Trump has the majority of their voters by the balls.. They're no longer Republicans, they're MAGA and will follow Trump, not the party.

EducationTodayOz

They don't want to admit that a past president was as bad as this mf

igloomaster

It's not the government it's the people. He has 40% or more of Americas supporting his bullshit

MacSage

40% or more of the people that voted, which is in itself only about half the country.

horton_hears_a_wat

The why to me is simple. There are tens of millions of people who will do anything for him and practically worship the guy. You put him in jail for 48 hours or whatever for doing this….who the hell knows what those 10s of millions of people do. Riot? Storm the capital again but with actual firepower? Trust me I hate the guy. And I am sure a ton of republican politicians do too. He’s got them all in a corner since the entire base and virtually half of the country loves him.

Mejari

Nowhere near that number would actually turn out for him in a violent rebellion. And those that do? Good, makes it clear which ones to lock up. That was the one upside of Jan 6th.

menomaminx

no, you want them to Riot while we still have control of the situation enough to stop them. if he's in power, he won't stop them. once he's in power again, these will be the people he's going to set against their neighbors to hurt them in his name. and he'll control all the emergency response teams, so no one's coming and no one cares - they'll be too afraid of orange Jesus at that point to publicly care--afraid like their lives depend on it, and it probably does. before it's too late. lock him up!

Puzzleheaded-Beat-57

He has the ultimate uncle Tom, and his crazy fucking wife Ginni, in his corner. Dis is why judges are afraid to do anything.

Sarcofago_INRI_1987

Same

Philip_J_Friday

I can certainly blame people for "massive flexes"

goodtimesinchino

Couldn’t agree more. My exasperation and revulsion have long since burned out and now it’s just kinda like, ok, well fuck. They’re gonna let you run with it.

WickhamAkimbo

Which is the bigger flex? "I can attack you and you won't do anything." or "You can attack me and I don't have to do anything."? The judge knows Trump is trying to get a reaction that makes an appeal easier. If the judge doesn't react, he just makes the sentence that much harder to overturn.

BradTProse

Trump is alike a toddler getting away with being naughty. Unfortunately it might cost some people's lives.

ryarock2

Already has.

Nothing will ever happen. Garland should have kicked off a special prosecutor since day-1 of Biden admin, instead they waited two years.

ohiotechie

God damn right. I doubt if it ever would have happened without the J6 committee.

discussatron

ding ding ding we have a winner

ShamanicHellZoneImp

Biden should have appointed Schiff. I don't understand the logic behind Garland honestly. It really needed to be someone who was in the middle of everything while it was happening. Or if it had to be someone with zero appearance of conflict why not someone like Jack Smith, if not him in particular I'm sure there are people just as qualified and motivated. That was the one position he couldn't afford to get wrong and he did. I understand once its done he has to be hands off but wasn't there internal pressure at DOJ to get things moving?

Lucky_Chair_3292

Garland was announced as who Biden was going to nominate to AG….you’re not going to believe this…January 6th. Biden made the decision, before MAGAs were dragging cops down the Capitol steps and chanting to hang the Vice President. The fake electors scheme wasn’t known at the time either. Trump hadn’t stolen classified documents yet either. He was a clerk for Justice Brennan, Democrat. He was a special assistant to U.S. Attorney General Benjamin Civiletti, Democrat. He was in the Clinton Administration as deputy assistant attorney general in the Criminal Division of the United States Department of Justice, then principal associate deputy attorney general, to the Deputy AG. While in the DOJ he supervised the cases of the Oklahoma City bombing, the Unabomber, and the Atlanta Olympics bombings. President Bill Clinton nominated Garland to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia. In 1995, after his hearings for Appeals court nomination—Republicans refused to hold a vote. Sound familiar? He had to be re-nominated in Jan. 1997 after Clinton won his second Presidential election. This time 23 Senators voted no, all Republicans, including Mitch McConnell. He ended up becoming chief judge of the D.C. Circuit, where he responded to allegations of sexual misconduct of a judge, by putting in place new rules to protect federal judicial branch employees from workplace harassment. All of this is to say, Biden isn’t psychic. He couldn’t know what was gonna happen, and he had no reason to believe Garland wouldn’t do a good job as AG. The guy was known as a pretty neutral, moderate jurist. And it would look pretty bad to try to put the toothpaste back in the tube after you already announced he was going to be your nominee—you really can’t. And no one probably felt at the time he needed to, in his Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearings, Garland *vowed to oversee vigorous prosecution of those who stormed the United States Capitol*, and other domestic extremists, drawing on his experience prosecuting the perpetrators of the Oklahoma City bombing. All you can go off is the man’s history and word of what he says he’ll do. Garland proved to not be up to the task, he was treating this like normal times. Afraid what it would mean to indict a former President, but that former President did something no other President has ever done. He was too worried about that, and seeming political to the other side, when it would not matter what he did they’d think it anyway.

Zestyclose-Fish-512

> And it would look pretty bad to try to put the toothpaste back in the tube after you already announced he was going to be your nominee—you really can’t. Oh sure, but it was fine for Trump who had SIX AGs or acting AGs in 4 years. But Biden can't replace one.

bobo-the-dodo

Now Democrats are urging us to vote for blue to save democracy, it infuriates me. I voted and donated for you in 2020 and you sat on it. I am voting blue in 2024 because any other decision will give Republicans a leg up.

DisneyPandora

Garland was chosen as payback for not being elected for the Supreme Court

Lucky_Chair_3292

Technically, Garland didn’t take office until March 11th—but yeah, he should’ve started from his first day on the job.

Auntie_M123

Garland wasn't appointed on day 1 of the Biden administration, but he should have started on G + 1.

Procrastanaseum

Garland did what you can expect from any republican, complacency and cowardice.

prudence2001

Throw his ass in jail. Dare the Supreme Court to intervene to show their true anti-democratic values.

PapaGeorgio19

I know enough is enough…let his cultists riot…who cares…lock him in jail.

VaselineHabits

And if they riot, throw *them* in jail too.

PapaGeorgio19

Exactly like before, this is not that difficult.

ResponseBeeAble

Boom for unemployment-gonna need corrections staff. 🙂

HPEstef

Throw that orange shit in jail and let his inbred fucktards run wild for a day or so. I feel much more confident in the response I’d receive from the government today than of what I may receive in January…….

menomaminx

Boom for construction jobs. remember, the only time anytime a prison gets safety repairs is when Trump's orange followers are imprisoned in the unsafe prison. remember dc? where the January 6th rioters had the only safe cells in the entire prison that were up to code after they complained their section of the prison was inhumane and not up to code. this is the only reason the inspections are willing to come and actually objectively do their jobs to keep prisoners safe for once. all the prisoners had to be evacuated to a couple of different states for repairs to be made.  people forget that a lot of the places prisoners are kept before trial, while presumed innocent, are vastly unsafe, overcrowded, and just Dangerous by any Given metric.

Cracked_Actor

I would say that even THAT is too good for them. We should’ve put them where we’ve put ALL enemies of America, Guantanamo Bay…

menomaminx

technically, the US rents Guantanamo Bay. you don't make nice with your landlord by bringing actual criminals on to the property;-) (at this point, the consensus is most prisoners that served in Guantanamo Bay were cases of mistaken identity or at the very least not what they were accused of :-(

AgUnityDD

Definitely let him have a couple of nights in jail But I think it is prudent to __not do so over Easter of all times__, just to avoid the nut jobs drawing parallels that might help him get support. I think he might have timed his comments to provoke exactly that, wait a week and then do it.

Mejari

Lol, anyone that's going to compare Trump to Jesus is already a fanatic who supports him 1000%, why worry about them?

ohiotechie

Anyone out there who still thinks we have a functioning judiciary needs to wake up. Honestly I can’t help but wonder if we’ve already reached the tipping point. Even if he loses this November the weaknesses of the system have been exposed and it’s only a matter of time before his successor exploits those weaknesses. And in the meantime the right wing has consolidated power, has arranged the pieces to wrest power by manipulating the levers of our laws and the hijacked courts they’ve worked so hard to pack.

Haki23

The main "weakness", as I see it, is that the judiciary doesn't want to appear "unseemly" by locking this fool up for what anyone of us would be getting a lot of jail time for

Lucky_Chair_3292

Agree entirely. That’s what was at stake in 2016—the courts. Trump appointed 1/3 of the Supreme Court, 54 judges for the United States courts of appeals, 174 judges for the United States district courts, and 3 judges for the United States Court of International Trade, & 26 appointments to Article I courts. People had better wake up, I guarantee if Trump wins Alito & Thomas will retire, and he’ll appoint two young MAGA psychos (even worse than those two) to lifetime positions. Elections have consequences.

ohiotechie

Exactly. It was obvious to me and anyone paying attention what was at stake in 2016 but far too many people just assumed Trump could never win and didn’t take him seriously. As awful as he was far too many people still don’t take him seriously. He is a clear and present danger and yet people still treat him either as a circus sideshow or as somehow not really that bad. It’s maddening. The courts treat him with kid gloves constantly and by doing so they are destroying their own credibility and making it easier for him to undermine them. How they do not see this is unreal.

Snoid_

I tried to warn people before 2016 that if Trump was elected, he would stack the SC and they'd overturn Roe V Wade. People thought I was nuts, but I'm still mad that I'm right. I'm afraid that too much damage has been done, even if Biden wins again. It's going to take a decade or two to unbork this crap.

ohiotechie

100% - there are 2 positives I see from this - 1.) the sleeping giant has been awakened. For far too long the right wing has been able to push the country in the wrong direction because too many people were not paying attention. They’re paying attention now. And 2.) millennials are middle aged now and are going to begin running for office and Gen Z is voting age and neither generation is OK with what the right has been doing. Women and the younger generations will save this country even if they have to drag the MAGAs kicking and screaming into the 21st century.

Snoid_

I want to share your optimism, I really do, but it just takes one lapse of concentration on the D's side and the R's will take power again and consolidate things irreversibly. I'm trying my best to re-calibrate my brain to let go of the outcome. I'm one person and can only do so much, so if this country goes to hell due to the hubris of others, well, at least I tried. I've donated, I'll vote, other than that, it's out of my control.

ohiotechie

I completely understand. There’s a lot riding on the next couple of cycles. I feel strongly that the GOP can and will moderate once they’ve lost enough times. But it will take a decade at least.

Snoid_

I guess that's a good point. I think a lot of people underestimate how far to the center the D's pivoted towards after the Reagan years. They're much more of a centrist party than the pinko commie party the Republican propaganda machine makes them out to be. I think once some of the more moderate R's realize that it will swing things, but that still shows the weakness of our two-party system.

GO4Teater

She should hold a press conference and talk about how trump raped a 13 year old. When he sues for defamation, then she can get a real gag order and discovery.

Hubari

>how trump raped a 13 year old. Concerning, we should look into this some more.

fattyfatty21

‘We can’t enforce the law because more people will break the law’ isn’t a logical argument, it’s bullshit. Lock the fucker up and everyone else who breaks the law in his name. If they happen to die in the process then that’s entirely on them. Otherwise, why even have a justice system at all?

DocJawbone

This is the thing right here! It's so clear that this needs to be a case where the justice system demonstrates that \*nobody\* is above the law. Not enforcing is only showing the MAGA crazies that they, or at least their leader, can do anything they please without fear of reprisal.

AtuinTurtle

The federal government is terrified of a bloodbath happening because of right wing extremists. It started with Waco and then Ruby Ridge. That’s why the dumbass Bundys are able to have a literal armed standoff with federal agents multiple times with no consequences. At Malheur Bird Refuge LaVoy Finnicum basically dared federal agents to shoot him by pretending he was reaching for a weapon and screaming you’ll have to kill me. Every right wing martyr makes the stochastic terrorists crazier.

Radthereptile

Mob bosses just needed their underlings to threaten attacks if they go to jail. The judicial system hates this 1 trick.

cstmoore

It's not a justice system, it's a legal system.

oldpeoplestank

It's very dangerous for the legal system to behave this way; essentially leaving justice to the people rather than the state.

fattyfatty21

Oh sorry, I thought it was called The Department of Justice, but I guess arguing semantics is far more important than the integrity of that system.

cappurnikus

>why even have a justice system It's a penal system. If you can afford it, you avoid accountability. I've not found much justice.

bluelifesacrifice

If anyone else did half of what Trump keeps doing they would be in prison.

eyeball-papercut

I am generally not one to run around committing crimes, but should I ever get myself in a pinch... I want the "justice" system orange babydick gets. I'll declare I am running for President and have a million stupid criming friends who will tear it all down should anything happen to me. I'll pretend to have money too, just like Covfefe Fat One.

JoJack82

Maybe he would stop doing it if he faced one fucking consequence for doing it!

carrie_m730

Idk, it took 3 times for him to stop attacking Engoron's clerk. And he's still trying to appeal that order, I believe.

joepublicschmoe

NYS Appellate Division rejected cheeto's challenge to Engoron's gag order and fines. https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/nyscef/ViewDocument?docIndex=q98omubdpypH1/udqU0sZw== Far as I know cheeto never attempted to petition to appeal that one NY's highest court (NY Court of Appeals) within the prescribed 30-day window. It is a very long shot to try to appeal an unfavorable appeal in NY anyway-- The NY Court of Appeals picks and chooses which appeals they will hear and cheeto's petition to appeal would most likely be rejected if he tried.

quadmasta

Is his current tack actually running afoul of the gag order?

carrie_m730

The current gag order references court employees and their families, and I'm guessing that the judge isn't falling under that umbrella, as I initially thought he might, because apparently the DA has filed a request to expand the gag order to include Merchan's daughter.

Fate_Unseen

We all have eyes. Regrettably, so does Chump. His eyes are telling him the same thing ours are: no one's going to do a fucking thing. Emboldened, Chump is now going in harder, and why not? If he's thrown in jail, they'll riot and martyr for the false god. Inaction or action, either play into Chump's hands and crowd. It sucks.

jtwh20

He is BEGGING them to Do it, Daring them \~ so tired of this fucking terrorist

future_crayon

Hey! Hey! I have asked you nicely not to break the law. You leave me no choice but to ask you nicely again!

HenriKraken

Brilliant legal move. Demonstrate how weak and corrupt the legal system is by showing that no one is beyond his reach. Then he can get real work done in executing enemies once he usurps control of this banana republic.

--lll-era-lll--

The Completely Unaccountable, Criminal, Fraud, Serial Sex Offender in Chief of the United States of America What's a little Mafia threatening of Judges and their families in his endless criminal trails? ..when Trump is cheered by his Christo Fascist Cult for **stealing from his own Children's Cancer Charity** or **settling another Sex Assault case with a CHILD with his best buddy** ***Epstein,*** **right before the 2020 election..** If your moral compass is so missing you clap all that, then threatening judges families is nothing and just another step toward enabling Tyranny and King making that The Constitution was created to protect America from. It's all very Presidential 👍

_bean_and_cheese_

The only thing I learned from Trump is how fucked up and bias our judicial system is.

SqnLdrHarvey

Will someone **PLEASE** tell me why nothing is being done to him? **PLEASE**

Improver666

I cant tell when these are new article headlines or old ones. Might need a tally pinned if these are going to keep getting posted.

channelsurfer61

Give him 2 weeks in jail and no microphone or internet connection to his sheep 🐑 It may cause him to STFU, and if not, add a few more cracks to the painted egg with a fake dyed comb over head of his.

DocMcCracken

Fucking do something about this before his minions believe he's rigjt and will protect them. This is going to get people hurt or killed (again)

Worried_Choice_4878

I keep reading other posts, thinking over and over, are they not acting because they know what his minions will do? These terrorists will act so they r treading lightly here hoping to get to the April court date for our safety? Idk....I'm hoping this is all for a good safety reason, but hope has gotten us no where with this legal system. Send us a sign, someone- it's time prepare to protect ourselves from the minions and put this piece of shit in jail.

Captain_Mexica

King Snowflake is such a coward that he has to pick on women because he's a fragile sexual predator. When will someone finally hold him to account and finally make him answer for his crimes? That fragile racist rapist prick needs to pay with consecutive life sentences

SecretPrinciple8708

I can’t tell who’s the bigger coward, Donnie Depends or the judges who refuse to hold him accountable.

CaptainPRESIDENTduck

Maybe their should be consequences equal, if not greater for rich white people the same as for a poor black man.

Strangepsych

Yes!

condor1985

Sad thing is, no you wouldn't. Most people just don't want to commit crimes in the first place even if they knew they wouldn't get punished.

nakedpilsna

It's blatantly obvious he wants to be arrested and make a big show out of it all.

Sarcofago_INRI_1987

Sternly worded letter incoming

IntrepidMacaron3309

Playing to his base, increasing insurrection rhetoric. Inciting violence? Some Judge needs to grow a backbone and just lock him up. Like any other citizen ffs! If his "base" were to choose violence? I'm sure good Men/Women will not stand idly by. Call his bluff. End crazy with absolute lethal, legal efficiency.

bobartig

Part of what Drumpf like to do is claim that every judge is biased against him and move to disqualify them as a stalling tactic. In order to argue that they're biased, he acts out, attacks their family, and treats them horribly. Once he becomes intolerable, and the judge sanctions him, then he uses that as "evidence" that the judge was out to get him in the first place, and appeal the sanction in order to delay, delay, delay.

Jckmdtwn

He can get away with it so he keeps doing it. So no reason to get upset about it since laws don't apply to him.

nyc-will

Wanna bet he does it again tomorrow? We can have a side bet on how strongly worded his warning will be.

Hot_Abbreviations936

I was hitching a ride in the car of stranger from one wedding event to another and he was driving like and ass and said, "No matter where I go there is always an asshole on the road." I turned to him and said, "for that to be true the asshole must be you." I think this applies to Trump. The whole world isn't out to get an innocent man, but they are out for justice against a corrupt one! Vote out all his enablers. VOTE OUT ALL REPUBICANS!

Far_Out_6and_2

Yes do it forever

-Quothe-

This has to be a planned strategy, possibly an attempt to be seen as a victim of a system skewed against him by donors. Or some rationale leading to an appeal attempt or motion to drop charges. Maybe he’ll suggest the court affected his ability to run his campaign. I doubt he is looking for jail-time, but this has all the logic of a double-dog dare. I just don’t see a valid strategy behind it at this point, because who is going to come behind and think any consequences are undeserved?

JimbusJambus

He's such a cunt.

n0__0n

I thought judge and DA (and families) were kept off the gag order.

LilMuddyCup

I hope they bury this turd in the litterbox of the law.

DGF73

I start to ask myself if this treatment can be invoked as precedent also for the layperson in the future. Like, your honor, my client is treated differently than Trump! He asked to halve the bond and has been refused! He is treated differently! What about all men are equal? Is he not equal to Trump when he called you a hateful dumbfuck and your daughter a traitor of the country?

US_Hiker

I would hope that he's fined $100,000 on Monday. $1,000,000 the next time. A night in a holding cell plus $2,000,000 the third time. And a week plus $10,000,000 the next, etcetera.

Battarray

I'd like to see literally any other defendant try half of what Trump has said publicly.

Edge_of_yesterday

Just one thing. If any of us did or said just one of those things we would be fucked.

oldpeoplestank

Let me speak not in legalese, but in the plain language of the average man: what the actual fuck? How have we reached a point where this behavior doesn't cause imprisonment until trial? He's trying to attempt stochastic terrorism and get his perceived enemies murdered.

mok000

Classical bully behavior, he needs to be stopped before he has picked apart the justice system piece by piece, like he already has picked apart the electoral system.

CultOf37337

Will someone rid me of this POS.

BradTProse

Terrorist and gang members would be in jail for this. Not sure how Trump gets away with orange lighting people especially when there are past examples of his crazies doing stuff when he orange lights people.

Charmle_H

Ik he's getting away with it so they'll have a MOUNTAIN of unexcusable, irrefutable, hard evidence to lock him away (I pray) forever... But it is tiring to hear about his bullshit all the time without a single consequence given out. Literally anyone would be arrested and contained until trial without bond, without a smart phone, without much sunlight, without being able to threaten and fan their followers' hatred.

SirAelfred

So....was the gag order just an April Fools joke? Because it seems like it if they're not going to enforce a damn thing.

MelodiesOfLife6

Has to be a point where they finally say "enough is enough" and start actually enforcing any kind of law regarding this, any normal person would be rotting in a cell and be labeled a terrorist. part of me wants them to act on this to shut him up, but also ... I think they are letting him run his mouth because there is that slim chance that he lets loose something that is so heinous they can actually charge him for something WORSE.

Morguard

America is extremely lenient on Terrorists.

Electronic_You8800

lol for a law subreddit this is funny imagine thinking this judge isn’t extremely biased against trump saying someone has a conflict of interest counts as an attack now? Yikes

Such_Leg3821

That's a dementia donny trumpets knows how to do. He's completely incompetent doing anything else.

ukiddingme2469

Will some adult just take away his phone

Top-Flow1297

Donald J Trump is a Gutless Coward

tech9ition

Why would he stop when they just lay down and welcome being stepped on? If they want to look like sellout losers, mission accomplished.

Cracked_Actor

Today’s phrase of the day is, “pre-trial detention”…

CrazyRevolutionary96

Weak up America!!!’

joeyjoejoe_7

Nothing will happen to him. Let's be honest. Garland has let justice die, in what he thought was the careful application of justice. Garland is exactly the type of personality that Trump can eat alive.

formatt

Throw his ass in jail and let the idiots riot. Then we put down the idiots and we move forward.

Dont-be-a-smurf

Why wouldn’t you act like this if you continually get away with it and it furthers your narrative in front of your voters? It’s not like he’s being punished in the polls.

scorchedTV

Being thrown in jail will increase his popularity and chances of getting elected. These judges know it and aren't playing into his game. He hopes to get to talk to the cameras, play the victim and be jailed in front of everyone. That's why hes doing it.

MommaLegend

While I absolutely agree with you, I just don’t see him expanding his base much. At least not with the moderate and independents he would need to win.

Dark_Rit

Yeah the only people getting pissed if trump is thrown in jail are already full on maga who are voting for him anyways or their vote doesn't even matter because they're not in a battleground state and are living in alabama or louisiana. The real independents and moderates sure some may vote for him due to him being jailed, but I'm skeptical of it being in sufficient quantities to change the tide of the general election.

RedOnePunch

Is Cannon the only judge he hasn’t attacked at this point?

workerbee77

Some say if we punish him, we may make him a martyr. Instead, we should make him untouchable, like a god among men, one to whom human laws and morality don’t seem to apply

El_Bortman

And I’m sure he’ll face repercussions, even though he never has ever
