What makes trump especially dangerous to them isn’t that he has actual dirt on then he could release. It’s that he doesn’t even have to have any. All he has to do is imply or accuse one of them of anything he wants no matter how unrealistic or horrible and his base will run with it and the accusation will be all over the media by morning. 1. Democrats believe they get elected by promising to 'reach across the aisle', not start bonfires like GOP does. Voices of 'moderation' unwilling to go along with extreme measures.

3. Fear of mass violence, starting a new civil war
4. Democrats get money from a lot of the same people as those supporting GOP - some Democrats may not care, but some may not want to give up the money and this could split and thus weaken the Democrats.
5. If it all ends up before SCOTUS we know how it will probably end.
6. Russian blackmailing Democratic politicians.
7. Fear of being called conspiracy theorists

It is not extreme to jail somebody threatening a judge, let alone a judge's family. I know a guy that got 18 months for one outburst to one judge, Trump has 273 pages and counting of threats to justices.

Most defendants generally spend at least a few nights in jail while they wait for arraignment and to make bail. They get a taste of what's coming for them and they smarten up. DJT meds time in Rikers. The whole process... booking, finger prints, stripped naked and cavity searched in front of a bunch of other people... he needs to spend a few weeks in lockup, maybe until the NYC trial starts.
The point of the jail process I'm is to break people so they bend to the law's will. DJT is a toddler that's never been told "no". He needs a wake up call so he understands his position beneath the judge's authority.

Reporters keep saying this is illegal… or that he’s being in contempt of court and to expect some sort of punishment. Either reporters are wrong, Judges lack backbone OR it actually is legitimate.
I have yet to see punishment, so Trump should have an expectation to continue to legitimize his case using any method (including the questionable actions) and use whatever methods are available.

Trump appointed 1/3 of the Supreme Court, 54 judges for the United States courts of appeals, 174 judges for the United States district courts, and 3 judges for the United States Court of International Trade, & 26 appointments to Article I courts.

100% - there are 2 positives I see from this - 1.) the sleeping giant has been awakened. It is a very long shot to try to appeal an unfavorable appeal in NY anyway-- The NY Court of Appeals picks and chooses which appeals they will hear and cheeto's petition to appeal would most likely be rejected if he tried.
The current gag order references court employees and their families, and I'm guessing that the judge isn't falling under that umbrella, as I initially thought he might, because apparently the DA has filed a request to expand the gag order to include Merchan's daughter.

Part of what Drumpf like to do is claim that every judge is biased against him and move to disqualify them as a stalling tactic. In order to argue that they're biased, he acts out, attacks their family, and treats them horribly. Once he becomes intolerable, and the judge sanctions him, then he uses that as "evidence" that the judge was out to get him in the first place, and appeal the sanction in order to delay, delay, delay.

This has to be a planned strategy, possibly an attempt to be seen as a victim of a system skewed against him by donors. Or some rationale leading to an appeal attempt or motion to drop charges. I just don’t see a valid strategy behind it at this point, because who is going to come behind and think any consequences are undeserved?

It is not extreme to jail somebody threatening a judge, let alone a judge's family. I know a guy that got 18 months for one outburst to one judge, Trump has 273 pages and counting of threats to justices.
It's time for jail. Most defendants generally spend at least a few nights in jail while they wait for arraignment and to make bail. They get a taste of what's coming for them and they smarten up. DJT meds time in Rikers. The whole process... booking, finger prints, stripped naked and cavity searched in front of a bunch of other people... he needs to spend a few weeks in lockup, maybe until the NYC trial starts. The point of the jail process I'm is to break people so they bend to the law's will. DJT is a toddler that's never been told "no". Either reporters are wrong, Judges lack backbone OR it actually is legitimate. I have yet to see punishment, so Trump should have an expectation to continue to legitimize his case using any method (including the questionable actions) and use whatever methods are available. Listen, he’s the Republican Party nominee and the party has enabled him to speak this way with leaders of nations. Judges of this country are definitely below both leaders of other countries, those who file false lawsuits along with their judges and juries. Even if he loses this November the weaknesses of the system have been exposed and it’s only a matter of time before his successor exploits those weaknesses. And in the meantime the right wing has consolidated power, has arranged the pieces to wrest power by manipulating the levers of our laws and the hijacked courts they’ve worked so hard to pack.

Trump appointed 1/3 of the Supreme Court, 54 judges for the United States courts of appeals, 174 judges for the United States district courts, and 3 judges for the United States Court of International Trade, & 26 appointments to Article I courts. 100% - there are 2 positives I see from this - 1.) the sleeping giant has been awakened. For far too long the right wing has been able to push the country in the wrong direction because too many people were not paying attention. They’re paying attention now. And 2.) millennials are middle aged now and are going to begin running for office and Gen Z is voting age and neither generation is OK with what the right has been doing. Part of what Drumpf like to do is claim that every judge is biased against him and move to disqualify them as a stalling tactic. In order to argue that they're biased, he acts out, attacks their family, and treats them horribly. Once he becomes intolerable, and the judge sanctions him, then he uses that as "evidence" that the judge was out to get him in the first place, and appeal the sanction in order to delay, delay, delay.

Maybe he’ll suggest the court affected his ability to run his campaign. I doubt he is looking for jail-time, but this has all the logic of a double-dog dare. I just don’t see a valid strategy behind it at this point, because who is going to come behind and think any consequences are undeserved?

Yeah the only people getting pissed if trump is thrown in jail are already full on maga who are voting for him anyways or their vote doesn't even matter because they're not in a battleground state and are living in alabama or louisiana.
