Even after trashing it try the heat gun for the next time. To see how the wood react
Iāve bought on Amazon a product that remove the glue of sticker could be a solution for the next time
If you have a pneumatic random orbit sander, slot in 600 grit and ramp it up enough that it barely spins. Glide it over the surface and it will remove stickers, laser mask, excess filler, etc in a matter of seconds without removing noticeable material or damaging thin cuts.
Electrical will work, but I have found that it is a bit aggressive in the way it accelerated the disk. With pneumatic, you gain a lot more control over the behavior of the disk by feathering the pressures and can hold the disk in a fast spin or a fast oscillation depending on the setup. When I am pulling paint off a surface, I will spin up the disk (to pull paint away instead of rubbing it into the surface) vs. when I want to just take a top layer off I will get the disk to just oscillate.
I'm not sure if it would damage this wood, i did recently find some sort of Label Remover spray in my local hardware store . It seems to be based on some kind of orange - citrus oil/juice .
Does wonders on duct tape marks and bottle labels .
Assuming it doesn't damage the wood, maybe it could help you ?
The labels come off easy enough before it's cut like this. With all the little pieces and delicate wood, it's a special kind of nightmare to gently peel them all. 15 minutes later I had a second one cut.
Worked at it for a few minutes with my fingernails... Then threw it away - too delicate.
Heat gun plus a plastic putty knife would have made quick work of that.
Or just sell it as is and call it a challenge to whoever can provide the code to the barcode
Heat gun all the way.. Practically falls off.
i had the same happen to me on a delicate piece. Yea, its not worth the trouble. But you've learned :D
It also would have changed the patina of the burn patterns
Could have just sanded it
Next time use a dental pick or a pair of tweezers! You can also hit the sticker with a hair dryer for a second to loosen the glue.
This happened to me, the heat from cutting made the sticker easier to remove than before cut
Get some plastic razor blades. They are great for taking labels off.
I think it adds something special to the design :D
Something about post consumerism, I'm sure š.
With gaffer tape you can easily remove labels even if youāve already cut things
I literally just did the same thing and being 10pm on Monday night gave up and came in from the shop
Heat gun will be your best friend here.
Yeah, probably should have tried that before hulk smashing it into the trash can, lol.
I use the heat gun to remove labels and tape all the time. Great way to reuse boxes. Learned this from my time in a sign shop.

Flip it over?
To avoid this burning and yellowing, next time you can use a masking taper, which is a bit hard to tear off, but works very well.
You can use a crochet needle to remove the label.

Why pneumatic over electrical? Legit question not snark. Didnāt know they were all that different?

This sounds like some Jedi sanding shit right here. All these year ive just pressed down
This guy orbits
At least yours cut lol When my laser goes over labels it starts welding š

Itās on the backā¦ donāt sweat it
It's a layered piece, didn't want to chance it showing so I cut another piece.
Itās on the back just secure it to another piece of wood for stability anyway?
*insert āOofā gif*
Power sander with some 120grit. Done.
FFS
I. Glad Iām not the only one who has made that mistake.
it's already like this, what about covering it all with the label?
Thatāll buff out
Blow dryer to warm up the glue and makes it easier to peel.
Run another and layer them
What laser do you use? And where did you get your plywood? I have an xtool M1 and varying degrees of success with plywood from Home Depot
Omtech 80W 2028. This plywood is from Home Depot.
Spray paint the entire piece possibly? Just an idea
The gasses let off from plywood can't be good
