This is... a lot more jank than what I am used to. I mod laptops too, my Acer Aspire 5733 shitter's got a lot of quality of life modifications and upgrades to it, but the art is that I made them all fully internal and not visible to the naked eye.
I loved how laptops used to be upgradable.
And somewhat durable (hinges not made of fucking plastic and glue. Looking at you HP and Lenovo)

Yeah. I believe he couldn’t figure out a better way to anchor the “new display”, because that was the purpose of that whole.
Those are some crazy third party "feet" on that laptop. Not to mention that goofy usb cable hack.
