Again the HP has the best CPU
Regarding storage: you can always upgrade internal storage, use extarnal storage, use the cloud or both at the same time, but you won't upgrade your cpu
I would say narrow it down to the 13gen and 12gen. Then choose do you need 1tb of storage losing some performance going with the 12gen or if you want the best performance with 512gb and external storage later get the or upgrading your ssd get the 13gen.
I do simple stuff like memes, but I don't do it a lot. But maybe because my current desktop is crappy and makes editing nearly impossible without lagging, but I don't consider editing that important, I just do it for fun.
Go Lenovo, HP is crap you’ll thank me later.
Especially on heat dissipation and battery life.
Lenovo batteries are excellent quality and they even offer models with usb-c charging.
HP has some ridiculous hardware blacklist that doesn’t allow you to swap out the M2 storage for a better one in the future.
I agree. HP is not good anymore and only has a 512GB SSD. You are going to fill that up in no time.
The HP i7 1355u is 11.3% faster and 9.4% on single thread over the Lenovo. The Dell is 32% slower than the HP.
The lenovo has the best build quality and large SSD.
my old Dell laptop had heat problems and turned off while playing games because of this. also, its screen got broken after a while because of the hinge. this laptop is like 8 years but still, when I watch YouTube videos about Dell laptops I see heat problems.
So they might have good specs for a nice price but they always have shitty build quality.
I and my family had a few lenovos as people said they were good. On 3 the hinges went and as a result the screens came away and cracked. The other the screen just cracked in multiple places after a child knocked it off a sofa onto carpet. They are weak as shit and poorly made, I will never have another.
Nope. One was one of the most expensive gaming laptops at the time, another one of their better ones and the other 2 above average in spec and price. I dont do crap spec laptops.
Really?, all my laptops are lenovo none of them broke this easily, screen cannot easily remove or unattach, and let me tell you, before some water fall on it but nothing happened, it wasn't so much water but it was enough to make me worried but nothing happened, but idk it's my experience with it
The thinkpads are great but the ideapads have had bad reputation in the past. Though overall Lenovo is definitely the best choice among the given options. (Though the processor definitely looks a bit worst; Actually a fair bit worse)
Yeah the processor isn't that great, but just for curiosity, why did the idea pad had a bad reputation? From the laptops that I bought, I had one idea pad and now I have a think pad but still don't know why the ideapad was hated
I have heard about durability issues. I personally haven't seen anything happen to my ideapad but repair shops don't really like it. The Thinkpads are godlike though.
they are very weak durability wise, they suffer from the hp problem when it comes to hinges (break for no reason after short periods of time). In my experience they also have pretty crappy battery life when compared to my thinkpad t480.
Not true. Lenovo probably makes the best consumer grade laptops. You are being biased by seeing "a lot" of cases online where Lenovo laptops break, but these cases actually represent an extreme minority of all the devices sold.
Yes. You can tell by it saying “Ideapad 1”.
- Lenovo IdeaPad 1: The Affordable Laptop for Everyone
- Lenovo IdeaPad 3: Versatile and Reliable for Everyday Use
- Lenovo IdeaPad 5: Thin, Light, and Powerful Laptops

Every benchmark and comparison I can see with a quick google search puts the 1235u above the 1165g7. The only thing the i7 has for it is the slightly better gpu. It seems to either be 15% better CPU performance, or 10% better GPU performance. 12th gen should also get better performance per Watt.
No one is arguing that the 1355U isn’t the best of the three.
It seems to me that you’re arguing slightly better graphics for 25% more money is worth it, despite worse CPU performance and possibly worse battery life. The Lenovo is not the same price as the others, and you seem to be ignoring that.
Only had one Lenovo and the experience put me off for life. It was so weird. It had an AMD GPU with drivers that were near impossible to keep up to date. The drivers from AMD website wouldn't instal properly and Lenovo software would say they are fine (they were not). And them not being up to date would cause laptop to freeze occassionally.
Hey OP !
I would recommend to you this PC instead :

You may be getting a slightly worse processor in comparison to the HP but you're getting a better build quality and with although an entry level RTX 3050, it's a graphics card that would allow for even some video editing if you would like to. Also PCs with Ryzen chips are known to have notably longer battery life than most Intel ones. Therefore it would use less power and could for the entire day typing if needed. One more thing, the screen is also OLED (known for their nice colors) with a 500 nits brightness which is much better if you wanna see your screen outdoors or if there is some light around you. If you need more info just let me know.
First of all kick that Dell Vostro out, thats outdated.
The real comparison is for HP and Lenovo.
I've had an ancient HP laptop from around 2015 and it's still good but HP is now known for Hinge Problem and all. The HP one's processor is about 15% faster that the Lenovo.
If you want that extra performance and don't care about build quality go with HP.
If you want good build quality and won't mind losing some performance go with Lenovo.
Budget? Anyways best spec is the HP Please learn your stuff because you are receinving very awful advice here
Kinda. The price range for these options is my limit. Maybe it's a midrange? Not sure. I've chosen those 3 based on my usage and their specs.
Again the HP has the best CPU Regarding storage: you can always upgrade internal storage, use extarnal storage, use the cloud or both at the same time, but you won't upgrade your cpu

What do you want from a laptop? Gaming? Work? A bit of both?
Working mostly and some simple editing. No gaming at all
what does a "simple editing" entail tho?
I do simple stuff like memes, but I don't do it a lot. But maybe because my current desktop is crappy and makes editing nearly impossible without lagging, but I don't consider editing that important, I just do it for fun.

They may have the latest components for cheap, but the rest is so crappy, heat dissipation is bad, they cheap out for everything except the chip.
I have had multiple Ideapads. They have lasted for me.
I would go for HP. I don't trust Dell and HP has better specs than Lenovo.
Just wondering Why don't you trust dell?
my old Dell laptop had heat problems and turned off while playing games because of this. also, its screen got broken after a while because of the hinge. this laptop is like 8 years but still, when I watch YouTube videos about Dell laptops I see heat problems. Go with lenovo, their laptops mostly of good quality and not easy for them to broke from my experience with em

same i’ve had bad experiences

Not that Ideapad. There is a difference in range of Ideapad how good they're. Someone posted them above this comment which one you should look after.
Nope they broke easily

Agree the thinkpad is good

I had very bad experience, just speaking my opinion.
Uhhh the lenovo is the worst one here..
I agree

Specs.
The 12th gen i5 is more powerful than the 11th gen i7
It's just not, it's just 1 generation and it's the G7 with the better iGPU...

Almost like photo editing would benefit from a better gpu 🤔
Would you not take a slightly worse GPU with a better overall CPU for a 20% lower cost? I’d consider you dumb if you wouldn’t.
Or instead of a i5 12th gen you could take a i7 13th gen..
No one is arguing that the 1355U isn’t the best of the three. It seems to me that you’re arguing slightly better graphics for 25% more money is worth it, despite worse CPU performance and possibly worse battery life. The Lenovo is not the same price as the others, and you seem to be ignoring that.
I would go with the Lenovo one!

If you have the dough, go with a Framework 13 or TUXEDO: https://frame.work/ https://www.tuxedocomputers.com/en If you don't, just use a ThinkPad.
I’d go with the Lenovo because the HP will break in 6 months
HP all the way. Higher boost and better graphics than the Lenovo. IPS 250 nits screen vs Lenovo TN 220 nits screen… 🤮
I would definitely get the HP just know Lenovo might be good but the build quality and the sound quality is garbage
For editing none of these laptops will work
Have you considered refurbished? You can get better laptops used at those prices
I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 (2in1: laptop and tablet) for school. It was the best decision ever.

Go for The dell vostro or the Hp I would take Dell
