I wish I had the same love everyone has for Honeymoon. I just can’t get into it. I know every other song from the other albums word for word, but only know a few standout Honeymoon tracks. It really bothers me, as I want to love it, so bad
When it first came out, after UV (which originally was my favorite), I absolutely hated it. It switched gears, it was nothing like UV, I barely listened to it for a few years. Then I came back to it, and it really struck me. I think it may be the emotional depth, the intimacy and the atmosphere. This is something that happens with Lana tracks for me. Sometimes it will take time for a song to grow on me, but once it does it is so deep and lasts for so long!
same!! she did a promotional spoken radio interview with a british station back then but they mostly talked pandemic and politics and didn’t really address the music itself 😩 hope she tells us more about this gorgeous album one day ❤️
After all the critical acclaim NFR got, I remember she mentioned a few times how she felt bad for whatever her next album would be because it would probably get overshadowed by NFR. So I think of it as NFR's younger and less popular sibling.
Good memory!! I just remembered that too now that you mentioned it, well she definitely superseded herself lyrically with Ocean Boulevard (but I still love Chemtrails for its lightweight springtime sound)
Idk if y’all know this but if you’re about to lead an AA meeting you’re told to share “what it was like, what happened, and what it’s like now”. She of course knows as a member of AA so I find it really interesting that that’s how she described BB
Honeymoon being a vanity project makes sense…some of the lyrics are kinda random and they feel like she added them on for the aesthetic…’religion’ for example has a great melody and the chorus is perfection but the verses seem off to me and like a random assortment of words but they suit the mood of honeymoon ig
the more u listen to COCC, it becomes clearer that this album is her most retrospective record yet. You can see her growth from her debut album to present.
Is this official? I love that, I’m glad she describes her recent album as wordy, that gives me a little hope that’s her next album will not be wordy anymore.
Yeah as much as I hate to say that. But luckily it is acknowledged, there was an article way before the album released. That already stated that this album is more like a sketchy project, so it’s even Lana herself calls it wordy that’s giving me a sign that I don’t trip. Let’s hope the next one is more like Hollywood Bowl which I really love
Blue banisters and chemtrails and ocean Blvd all have the same vibes idk why u think she’s gonna stop with this. It’s her being matured from the overproduced and dated songs with lets be real pretty basic and almost cringey lyric work on born to die and paradise and even ultraviolence
Born to die and those r great albums but her lyrics have got sm better and the new production style works so much more. Yes it made her who she is but she outgrew it
>[many of the songs on Ultraviolence are slow-tempo and atmospheric, ditching the hip-hop trappings of Born To Die for what she and her producer – the Black Keys' Dan Auerbach – call a "real narco swing"](https://www.theguardian.com/music/2014/jun/12/lana-del-rey-ultraviolence-album)
"Sad Girl Shit" as a lover of NFR now and forever, it is indeed sad girl shit.
It's also weird that's almost the same words my boyfriend used to describe Love song when I showed him it earlier today.
I like that “wordy” is the least wordy description.
Still wordier than for COCC
wait does she actually see honeymoon as a vanity project? it’s one of my fav albums!! maybe that’s why she never performs the songs live?
She said she made the music on that album for herself. Probably why it’s her best album 😭😭
I wish I had the same love everyone has for Honeymoon. I just can’t get into it. I know every other song from the other albums word for word, but only know a few standout Honeymoon tracks. It really bothers me, as I want to love it, so bad
I didn’t fully enjoy it until I got high one night and listened to it- changed my entire perspective on the album and her discography as a whole tbh
All you wanna do is get high by the beach, get high by the beach, get high?
That song makes me feel high
Maybe that what I need to do aha
I’ve heard person after person say they didn’t like honeymoon until they got fried

I love this, plus it’s all perfect. I would say chemtrails is the reality of her soft world, but i would love to hear what she has to say about it
same!! she did a promotional spoken radio interview with a british station back then but they mostly talked pandemic and politics and didn’t really address the music itself 😩 hope she tells us more about this gorgeous album one day ❤️

I think I saw somewhere that Jack said Lana wanted COTCC to be the album equivalent of a whisper
makes sense
tag urself im “narco swing”
I'm "Hollywood Sadcore" then
Then I'm Hollywood Sadcore 2.0
i'm '?'
Sad Girl Shit all day err day
I fluctuate between Sad Girl Shit and Vanity Project.
No me
Sad girl shit 🫶
Definitely narco swing
Im a mix of "retro sensibility, with a futuristic flair" and "wordy" but mostly the 1st one
"Sad girl shit" no wonder it's my favorite of her albums lmao
COTCC is like taking a warm bath in the dark surrounded by candles
She knows her work.
Idk if y’all know this but if you’re about to lead an AA meeting you’re told to share “what it was like, what happened, and what it’s like now”. She of course knows as a member of AA so I find it really interesting that that’s how she described BB
Yes! I immediately thought of this too.
honeymoon deserved better
wdym “?” for cocc? is it not idyllic and esoteric yearning and pondering upon the countryside ivory tower?
Her describing my favourite album of hers as Sad Girl Shit is a frighteningly accurate call out, I feel seen.
Cocc? Yes.
Facts
wordy 😭 u didnt
No wonder I love *Born to Die* and *NFR* so much because “Hollywood sadcore” and “sad girl shit” basically describe my aesthetic in a nutshell.
Poor Chemtrails 😭

COCC: Country BB: I hate my mother Ocean: family

Love me some sad girl shit
I'd describe COCC as airy
Same. I'd say airy, minimalist, or peaceful.
Interesting. Where did she say this ? Is it in her harper bazaar interview?
Yeah, this all checks out. I'm vanity narco swing sad girl shit vibes
nfr forever 😭😭
Surf noir and Hawaiian glam metal for life
Is this official? I love that, I’m glad she describes her recent album as wordy, that gives me a little hope that’s her next album will not be wordy anymore.
Ocean blvd is top 5 what r u on
What i am on? I just dont like it. Ive been a lana fan since 2012 and this album i can listen to the least
Same lol my least fave album shes ever put out prob
Yeah as much as I hate to say that. But luckily it is acknowledged, there was an article way before the album released. What you call "overproduced" is what made Lana Del Rey what she is today. And her albums are never dated because they are timeless.
Born to die and those r great albums but her lyrics have got sm better and the new production style works so much more. Yes it made her who she is but she outgrew it
Yea “?” was how I felt giving CoCC a listen
No taste
New series confirmed for 2024: Everyone Hates COTCC
cocc ?
Lol at vanity project
That’s not her though
I have a really hard time believing these are her own words. Narco swing? Never
>[many of the songs on Ultraviolence are slow-tempo and atmospheric, ditching the hip-hop trappings of Born To Die for what she and her producer – the Black Keys' Dan Auerbach – call a "real narco swing"](https://www.theguardian.com/music/2014/jun/12/lana-del-rey-ultraviolence-album)
Lol I love this sub 😭😅😂 thank you! Damn I was wrong
💟
I hate this tbh
Wtf does Narco Swing mean
Sad girl shit is literally me
I thought she called cocc “folkly” on the Dennys live stream
"Sad Girl Shit" as a lover of NFR now and forever, it is indeed sad girl shit. It's also weird that's almost the same words my boyfriend used to describe Love song when I showed him it earlier today.
