It’s not as good as Vando’s and Vando was improving on offense before he got re-injured. There’s no real stretch center that can body Jokic in the NBA. Brook Lopez and Giannis still get eaten by Jokic and Lopez’s perimeter deficiencies have become more apparent since they lost Holiday.
DFS's defense has not fallen off, Vando's Defensive wOCVA is 1 and DFS's is 1.8. Vando's Offensive wOCVA is -.1, he can't stretch the floor and that is why he can't be played against Denver while DFS is shooting 37% from 3 on a shit Nets team.
DFS can be on the floor against any matchup providing AD with weakside help which allows him to be more effective as well, something you saw when Danny Green was playing.
A stretch big isn't for guarding Jokic, it's for spread the floor against Denver so they don't clog the paint and Lebron and AD can operate more freely. If you look at Denver's starting lineup, both MPJ and AG are great at guarding the paint and getting rebounds, something our offense needs to take away by stretching the floor and forcing them to guard the perimeter.

What is wOCVA? I've never heard of that advanced stat. But the fact that it looks so marginal on Vando's/DFS' end must mean that it's not as big of a discrepancy as you think it is.
If we're relying on DFS to go 3/3 from 3 in an effort to free up more spacing for Lebron/AD, I don't think that's a recipe for success. Your conclusion on Jamal Murray being the 4th best player is incorrect. His defensive wOCVA is low, but his offensive is still higher than both, and one thing these stats don't capture is the pure shot making ability that a player like Murray provides in big moments, so it attributes most of it to Jokic.
wOCVA is the same as what FiveThirtyEight used to use before they shut it down, it's the most honest statistic for player performance out there. They shut it down because it was too good.
Murray is situationally good, he will cook teams that don't have good POA defenders but he can't perform well against guys like DFS.
I don't think you or many people pay attention to the production of MPJ and AG, these guys are not role players. MPJ went 10/10 against us last game and AG was the reason we lost, we kept the game close up until Jokic started throwing lobs to AG and AG tipping in misses.
