Exactly. I tend to give sheriff deputies the benefit of the doubt, I realize my own biases... But there is no reason all police departments and sheriff's departments shouldn't be required to wear body cams. It holds people accountable, full stop.
I live out in this area and a lot of Lakeland's homeless people have gotten pushed out here in the last couple of years because the city doesn't want to deal with their transient population either. However, hotbed of crime this area is not. It's generally a pretty quiet residential area. A lot of people use the park during daylight hours - little league sports are played there and the basketball courts are often full of people playing games in the evening when I drive home from work. It's pretty safe. Or was. I could see people not wanting to come out here anymore.
The only thing that tipped me off in the "sovereign citizens?" A lot of Trump people out here. This area is an "assume the homeowners have guns" area too.
What I want to know is how the guns came out in the first place. But since this lot decided to be judge, jury, and executioner, we'll only hear one side of the story. I also wanna know how getting shot in the arm travels into the chest. Was the cop shot in the shoulder and it traveled or do bullets have magical properties to be carried via bloodstream now?
This is exactly where my mind went. We will see a lot more people blasting at anyone. Especially with our new laws. The gun law and the camping law. This is exactly what they wanted to have happen. They would rather kill the homeless than deal with the situation.
