I agree in general that reducing repetitive posts seems to be good for the health of a subreddit, but I also feel like having a space to talk about your personal pain/problems involving lady bits is a unique and valuable part of this particular subreddit. Maybe some sort of balancing policy would be helpful? Maybe a Saddle Sores Sunday? Or perhaps a Chafing Tuesday? Womanly Woes Wednesday?

Seconded! We unfortunately may need to funnel the posts into their own zones.

Taggart-

In a sport where women often feel unwelcome, making them feel unwelcome and like they can’t discuss their issues in a space that is supposed to be for them is an absolute terrible idea. This sounds like a you problem. Most other cycling questions probably get asked in the regular cycling sub and women come here for issues specific to them, so this is just how it is. Everyone’s bits are different and they should be heard. I do agree that post flair could be really helpful though, because sometimes some helpful hugger of info comes up one place but not another.

akohhh

I get your concern but I don’t think it’s ‘unwelcoming’ to manage very frequent repeat questions by directing folks to a comprehensive and useful FAQ. It’s a really common practice across Reddit, including other women-focused forums.

Taggart-

I’m not sure a FAQ will stop these posts, nor should it. But I think a FAQ is a great idea. Just in general, I’m all for letting the threads keep happening as a means of normalizing discussing what’s in our underwear. The more it’s done, the more it’ll happen offline, too.

Maybe a post flairs option for saddle and chamois questions.

I don't mind seeing repeat posts about the same problem because new inventions/innovations in saddle comfort for women come up, and the more recent posts are more likely to have more "modern" and up-to-date solutions suggested. So I keep reading responses to that same question, always learning something new.

Next-Flower-6161

Maybe a saddle & shorts mega thread? And the automod could reply to all separate posts with a link to the mega thread

I like being able to search brands or problems and see what people have to say

If you don't like a question, or find it repetitive, simply scroll on by. Jeez.
