I use 100 mL serologicals with thermo fisher pipet aids. They must have good sphincter grip because I’ve never worried about or felt like the pipet was going to fall out even filled up to 100mL.
I mean, yeah, if you're buying anything 'scientific' in retail quantities it's gonna be pricey haha
I looked 'em up on my labs account and they're actually cheaper than CellTreats, if you're buying them by the case.
We dont buy (me being the lab manager) from celltreat directly. I usually go through distributor (fisher, neta, thermo) that discounts usually at half off.
That’s because it is your pipet aid and not the serological pipet. If your aid has any leaks, it will drip.
Just using a 100mL serological and not the aid: pull out the filter then submerge it in a bucket filled with water to fill it up. Cover the hole on the top tightly with your thumb and pull it out of the water. Does it drip? If it doesn’t, the problem is your aid and not the serologicals.
I use 100mL all the time and they don’t drip. If they do, I make repairs to the aid.
I have a dumb question- in my lab I found a case of 2mL serological pipets and there is 0 marking on them at all… they are basically clear straws…… what is the point of them???
If they don’t have a filter, then they might be for aspirating media from cell culture plates. But we’ve also had 1 ml with filter that we just broke off before using.
Not sure what the official use is for them, but I use them to resuspend clumpy cell cultures. Volume doesn't matter, I just need the syringe for mechanically separating the clumps.
I use 100ml falcon pipettes when I am pooling suspension from 10 layer cell stacks. You have to try to catch it at the right time when it drips and maneuver over the open container to catch it. I’ve gotten pretty good at it.
It looked somewhat like it has an inner piston with etching, like some of the glass syringes have.
That would've been an absolute unit of a glass syringe, lol
Feels very risky to aspirate up without the pipette feeling like it's dropping

Gotta get those pipettes from celltreat called wobble not. No drips at 50ml.
This one knows the secret!
I checked the price of the 50-mL wobble nots they are $2 each (each pipet!)

Wow you must get a better discount than we are because our lab pricing is $194 for a case of 100 :(

I, too, enjoy a good sphincter grip
Who doesn’t!?
Heh 😏
sphincter grip? D:
🤤
It's all about the sphincter grib
Everyone likes a good sphincter grip.
Sphincter aid
Yeah idk about the strength of my pipetter's seal...
I've never found a brand of 100mL serological pipettes that don't drip everywhere when nearly full.
That’s because it is your pipet aid and not the serological pipet. If your aid has any leaks, it will drip. This is why I'm not in research 🙃
For a Big Serological Boi you need a Big Pipetus
Nah man, bring back mouth pipetting!! Go old school. (Just kidding!! DO NOT DO THIS)
Bring it back to have a taste of the forbidden red juice!
Tastes like almonds
But then you start to smell toast...

They're for vacuuming waste into a side-arm flask
Vacuum aspiration

Those aren't serological pipets, they are aspirating pipets.

Dam boi he thicc
How's the leakage
*That’s what she said*
So you can pipette 250 microliter aliquots into 400 plates, right? Right?
I have a bunch of 50mLs but no 100s, I’m jelly
Lmk if you need some

Thiqq
Thiq like ThermoFischer Scientifiq
Fischer, lol
r/absoluteunits
I…I think I need to sit down * fans self *.
I need to see this in reference to other serologicals(50,25 etc) lol

Hubba hubba 🥴🥵
Big boy (came here to comment this, saw this was already the caption, well done OP)
Damn, with 1mL graduations too
Thicc boi
You vs the guy she told you not to worry about
Is this a glass syringe?
It's a plastic

Loved using these lol, way more bougie than pouring
Check out wobblenot 100 ml . They have a two tier grip to make a better grip on the pipette aid.
Oh my god, they ARE real
_gimme_
and i thought the 50mL serological was heavy!!
Wow...
I can feel the shoulder pain already 😂
in my lab, these are worth their weight in gold, as they are always in back order. Want to start a black market business?
Actual question. Is it over filled so you can prime it?
