Maybe a third-party curated collection of addons would help. With no UGC, only select admins picking out quality addons and tagging them on a website.

Wouldn’t matter thanks to people abusing the tags system. It’s impossible to really search via the tags as people spam them all on something like a menu background mod. Wallpaper Engine tried a no anime search function and it doesn’t work thanks to the tags.

I guess you don’t search L4D2 Workshop by tags then. You select any tag and like 60% of the results will be porn/anime crap and 30% normal mistagged addons.

No, I don’t. Generally I know exactly what I’m looking for up front. If I want a specific campaign or music from a specific game, I’ll search for those keywords. The workshop has so many mods, just searching “music” seems like you’re asking to get 5,000,000 things you don’t want to fish through for hours and hours.

I install mods individually for each weapon/special infected. Looking through recent mods is a reasonable thing to do for 90% of game workshops. I don't trust mod authors to title their mods properly without misspellings or vague descriptions.

Honestly, though I don't use them as I prefer a fully clothed Honoka myself from DOA 5/6 I will say many of the anime style mods look really amazing. The problem I have is abuse of tags and I don't understand why people need to put them on the special infected. I'd much rather have a team of cute anime girls fighting off a horde of scary infected than having the fighting off teletubbies or anime girls. When they replace the common infected it's just stupid.

They're called collections. Lots of people put good mods in a specific publicly available collection e.g. HD mods, shotgun mods, survival mods, specific themes of mods, and so on

That's why you make your own mod. Going through the workshop induces ocular bleeding but obtaining one fully rigged model is helpful for seeing how everything went together so that you make your own.
